I traveled over 650 miles just to visit this establishment and wow. Let me first begin by saying amazing service and excellent cuisine. Let me recommend the Cubano, which has a Dijon mustard and mayonnaise combination for a delicious Dijonaise! The meats were also layered to perfection. My friend ordered a Lil John and the Mayo Master himself (the manager), made it with extra care, splitting the bacon in half, to incorporate bacon into every bite! Freaky Fast...yeah, that basically describes JJ's. I hadn't heard of Jimmy John's until I moved to Grand Forks, but I'm a big fan now. The store is almost invariably clean, and the service is super quick. I've never had to wait more than 20 seconds for a sandwich to be made, and I'm out the door. And on those days where I don't feel like leaving the house? They deliver, which is also amazingly fast. Consider ordering online - it's super easy to use, and you can set up an account that remembers your orders. They haven't got the customization that Subway has, but the food is always really fresh, the bread is amazing (you can get their day-old stuff and use it at home for cheap), and it's relatively healthy, too. read more

I placed an order for my family while we were at the hospital with my grandmother. It was 45 minutes later I had called because they had not showed up and I cancelled the order. The guy on the phone hung up, when I called back the woman would not allow me to speak and hung up on me while I was trying to see if they would be refunding my card. My grandmother just passed away and I tried to tell her since it took so long we no longer needed our order, she proceeded to talk over me as I tried to just verify if they were going to refund my card. This has been the worse customer service experience I have ever experienced with Jimmy Johns! I normally do not give a negative review but there was no empathy at all. Walked in to get a order to go today. The service was slow to start. I decided to use the restroom while my sub was being made, mistake. The restroom was filthy and smelled of urine. I skipped. When back up front and a lady was having a problem, the manager guy was very rude and condescending to her. I have never seen a manager berate a customer the way he did. Ownership needs a new manager asap. I love JJ, but never again this location. read more

Great place to eat, great food, great atmosphere. I was amazed at the variety of selections, though it isn't the Subway-style of "do it yourself", the sandwiches are still delicious. I was even MORE amazed at the quickness of your sandwich being done. My first ever visit to Jimmy John's, after five minutes of deciding which of those foreign-looking sandwich styles I wanted, I tell them and literally ten seconds later... there's my food. The atmosphere is great, the posters on the wall are funny. Great place for college hangouts or just quick meet-ups. The store is clean and tidy. Definitely recommend giving it a shot. read more

I love JJ's in general, so I was happy to find out when I moved here GF has 2 of them! I always get the #6 (the veggie that comes complete with an awesome avocado spread) & this particular JJs will bring me my sandwich at the university if I can't get away to pick it up myself. I have had variable delivery times, the longest being about an hour.... so that was not freaky fast, but what evs it was still good. Oh, and if you've never got a pickle from here you should. VERY slow service, and the sandwich was bland I dont get what the other reviews thought this place was good as I sure didnt! And the surprising part was that while it was slow there was only 2 people in front of me! I really enjoy going to Jimmy Johns or having it delivered. Their "freaky fast subs" are not only fast but they are also delicious every time. Many times when trying to decide on what place to eat at with friends, we turn to Jimmy Johns. By just walking into the building and smelling the fresh bread being made, I know I made the right choice. The atmosphere is also a fun one to be in at JJ's. The funny sayings on the walls and on the backs of their tshirts make it a very enjoyable place to be. It is also very sanitary inside. Along with the good, there are negative things that have happened, but nothing so bad as to make me want to bash it. There have been a few times when I have called for delivery and it took longer than they said, but most of the time it comes on time. That is really the only bad experience I had with JJ's, so I am very impressed by the "freaky fast" subs and service. read more

Once was no delivery at all - called back to check after 45 mins & told the delivery guy didn't know where is our location - they should call back to ask - no food! This has got to be my favorite "fast food" restaurant. The ingredients have a freshness that other chain restaurants specializing in the submarine sandwich category lack *cough* Subway *cough*. If only they had a meat ball sub... Personally the wife and I usually get the Club Lulu, which is a BLT with Turkey and we add the provolone cheese to it. They also have my favorite chips in the whole wide world, salt and vinegar thick cut tator chips. I know you can get these chips elsewhere, but they still rock. To top it all off, if the wife and I are short on time the place takes like a whole minute to make our food. In fact if there is a line the food is usually ready before you even pay, now that's freaky fast... lol sorry. read more

Hi I'm Carissa, I go to the Senior High in East Grand Forks and I'm in 11th grade. When I go to Jimmy John's I order the #1 Pepe. On the Pepe is, real applewood smoked ham and provolone cheese garnished with lettuce, tomato, and mayo. Jimmy John's.... mhmmmhhmmmmm. The moment you walk in those doors...you meet heaven. It smells better than Subway yes I said Subway. It has cool rocking music a cool signs all over the place. It's a fun, friendly, and fast environment. When you walk in they greet you like they know you. You stand there and gaze at the menu trying to decide what you want to eat. Then you find/see the chips, decide if you want them, if so grab them and get even hungrier. (At this moment your mouth starts to water and you just want to get eating already.) You tell them what you want and they give you the total. You finish paying; they get the bread and start on your delicious sandwich. By the time you walk to the end of the counter their either done or just finishing up your sandwich. You think WOW, now that's some fast service! You get your drink and fill it up, anticipating to eat your sandwich. You pick a table either away or near the sun and windows, and ENJOY your sandwich. This place is like a subway but its not in a way also. Subway you pick everything, here at Jimmy John's, they have specific sandwiches that you can choose from or you can choose what you want on your sandwich. If you get a specific sandwich you can add or take off items you don't like. They have unique chips here too, not the same old Funyuns, Doritos, or Sun Chips. Their chips are Kettle cooked, but may have the same flavors, just in a different shape. It's a cool hip place, where every, and anyone is welcome. Jimmy John's smells and is delicious, it's convenient. It's located on the South and North side of town. It's 4 1/2 out of 5 star rating restaurant in Grand Forks, on Yelp.com. Also Jimmy John's delivers. They are known for the one of the fastest deliveries. I have had NO problems with Jimmy John's at all! Some things that some people don't like about Jimmy John's are that they may play music you may not like and pretty loud. Its not inappropriate music but some older people may not take any interest in the music. Also theirs not many seats, it's about or smaller than Subways restaurants in size, so when it's busy theirs not many places you can go. Everyone has their own opinion on everything, so one day when you're hungry, go to Jimmy John's, try a sandwich and tell me what you think! When you visit Jimmy John's you can expect great friendly, "welcomes", "how you doings", and many more gestures. You will feel comfortable and welcomed.
