Ordered delivery from here for a quick lunch option and was not disappointed! They live up to the freak fast slogan. The website said they were experiencing delays, but my food still arrived in about 20 minutes which was great! I ordered a Vito, which is an Italian sub. The combo also includes a beverage and side of chips. The sandwich was fresh, and the thinny chips have just the right amount of crunch. Only thing that was missing was the kickin' ranch, I wish they would bring it back! The jalapeno ranch made a decent substitute, but the original was the best. read more

I ordered delivery. Apparently they are using uber eats not, which i hate anyways because i've had issues with their service in the past. But of course, after 30minutes of waiting for my order which usually doesn't take that long, i reached out the the original driver (cyclist) and as soon as i did it said locating a new driver. Even though he was already at the location. Then the second driver arrives at the shop and again says finding a new driver. Finally the 3rd one said someone had already picked up the order so it was most likely stolen! NONE of the phone numbers work, store location, uber eats helpline, jimmy johns helpline! I finally got a new driver an HOUR and 15minutes later! And he said they were just now remaking it. They have my contact information, the least they could have done was reach out. I stopped in intending to order my usual, the Beach Club, and the General Manager encouraged me to try the Caprese Pesto Wrap that has sun-dried tomatoes, pesto, mozzarella cheese, and salami. It was incredibly refreshing and gave me energy throughout my day. I felt more alive after eating at Jimmy John's and able to concentrate better on personal, creative writing. I highly recommend Jimmy John's, in general, and this store in particular. The Manager Patience was so welcoming that I felt right at home. Plus, the store was incredibly clean and well maintained. A decent Jimmy Johns in a not-so-great area. While I was here, I saw gang members flashing gang signs INSIDE at others outside. Not the best of places to be when you worry a drive by is about to happen. But...the food is good, though I think prices here are a dollar more than other locations. Took the uneaten sandwich to the store on my way home from work to request refund or gift certificate for free sandwich. After refusing at first, assistant manager said he could make me a new sandwich. Declined sandwich, requested refund or gift certificate. Assistant manager called manager, still refused refund or gift certificate. Left negative feedback on Jimmy Jones FB page, got phone call, but haven't seen refund. Welp, this is my first and last time at this Jimmy Johns. And that is literally only for the employees. Even my decent sandwich couldn't swing any stars in their favor. I walked in around 1 pm on a Sunday. One employee is sitting at the front booth, presumably on lunch break, going to town on some messy nachos. Her table was covered with food and frankly it was gross. The employee working I swear to god had a murderous expression on her face. I don't go to JJs that often because I think their sandwiches are way overpriced and boring, so I wasn't really sure where to start. The counter was piled with boxes so I could barely see the employee and I asked "uh, where do I start"? She just rolled her eyes and nodded to the register. At this point lunch break employee came up, wiped her nacho hands on her apron and rang me up. She wasn't as unpleasant as the sandwich maker, but still didn't say a word to me outside of the price. I sat down to wait for my sandwich and all the while the two employees are yelling at each other from the front and back, cackling, every other word was a profanity, complaining about other employees and how they are all "dumbass b*****s" and all sorts of crap like that. I was so relieved to get out of there. I don't expect customer service to always be perfect, but this was just repulsive and gross. What a nasty environment, I will never step foot in there again. If you've been to one, you've been to them all. However, the employees at this particular location are very, very, very nice. Regardless of how busy the place is, they, even the sandwich makers who aren't obligated to interact with customers, always take the time to give me a genuine friendly greeting. I don't know what their manager did but he/she did a helluva great job in hiring the right people! The vegetables in their vegetarian sandwiches are always unbelievably fresh. Yum. I hated my apartment in Uptown, but I do miss being within walking distance of a Jimmy John's - especially this one. The guys and gals working there were always super friendly and funny with my friend and me. She would give them shit (along the lines of "Don't mess up my order, asshole" - in a funny, flirty way) and they would give it right back or at least understand that she was kidding. I love their chips and they perfected my sandwich (veggie no mayo no sprouts). It definitely doesnt feel super-safe at night (hence, why I no longer live in the neighborhood) but they close at 9 pm, which is usually not too bad still. If I had stayed there another month or two, I'm sure we would be hanging out with our Jimmy John's guys socially. They're a riot. read more

Freaky fast is a false advertisement of this location!!! Ordered online at 1:06 pm received my food at 2:30 pm!!! WTH!! Called twice for updates could not get a proper answer where my food was. Apparently, the delivery was out for approximately 45 mins!!!! It's right down the street!!! I called and ask where my food was the sales person offered me a $5 credit, I asked if that would make my food arrive faster, she had no response. I owe this store a huge thank you! I had a work event at 11 o'clock on a Tuesday that I had completely forgotten about until literally 15 minutes before it started. I was also in charge of ordering lunch for about 20 people at the event. I called this store on the way to the meeting (around 10:50), and they took care of everything. Everyone knows of JJs by now. They're nothing new. But what may be new to you is that they now offer the "JJ Unwich" which is the same old yummy JJ but without the bread. Instead, it's wrapped up in a bed of lettuce. I wish the sandwich wasn't the same price, however, it's a great fast food option for those who are Gluten intolerant...or a Truman College student. Attention pedestrians: Be careful when crossing Wilson at Racine! Those crazy JJ delivery men in their beat up cars will take you down to provide their "wicked fast" delivery times to get a $1 more of a tip! Horrible experience....bought a blt bacon was more fat than meat. Then I found white fibers attached to bacon pieces halfway through. Was told to bring sandwich in. Was expecting money back. Was offered another crappy sandwich. Supervisor apparently told associates not to give me my money. Customer service says owner has to agree because they're franchised. This is actually the FIRST Jimmy John's location I had ever eaten at, when I visited Chicago back in 2007. Three years later, I find myself in Lakeview, ordering lunch from this same JJ's. I'm really surprised at how fast they've been able to deliver my sandwiches, especially during lunch hour. I've ordered from here many times. I'm starting to see a trend. My order gets mixed up, and I end up with the wrong sandwich. One of the delivery boys tries to hustle about how he rode his bicycle to my residence, when it's time to get my change back, and it is time to tip. I understand that being a delivery person is not an easy job. That .4 miles on a bike that it took you to get here is not a 80% tip. I don't know if he thinks I'm that chic with 10 cats or something, but that's not cool. I don't have a cat fuckers. Also, though the sandwiches are yummy; I would like the one I ordered. I have had JJ in other cities, and there usually is not an issue. I hate that I have to stop ordering from here and make my own damn sandwich that will cost half of what I pay.
