I've heard much hype of Jimmy John's and joy about their recent Northeast expansion from my Midwest friends, so was kind of excited to try out this new outpost. Found my sandwich (the "Beach Club" ) ok if a bit bland--even the avocado spread seemed surprisingly bland. (My friend's 6 year old, on the other hand, declared it the best sandwich ever, fwiw.) The location is new and clean and shiny and service was quick and spot on. It was fine I guess, but ultimately to me it just seems like a Subway with fewer bread and topping options, though with a beloved character actor spokesperson as opposed to a pederast.

It depends who's working and you should order at the store, not on the app cause they screw the orders up

Delivery is abyssmal. Do not order delivery. I haven't received 5 sandwiches, now, and they won't do anything about it.

Pretty straightforward Jimmy John's. Hit the spot when I was craving a Turkey Tom with all the freebies. Glad there's finally one here!

Alphabet City, East Village

11/10 Worth the hype…read more I got the pho #1. The place is a hole in the wall (but actually on the corner) deli in alphabet city. It's worth trekking out to this joint, as Tik Tok has advised through many influencer videos. The Korean mom/pop shop really knows what they're doing, though I wish there was a bodega cat to share company while I had the quick wait for the sandwich to be assembled. The sandwich did not have anything missing, and despite not having the soup broth, it did not make me miss it. The greens were SO fresh and the meat was so hearty. The sandwich didn't feel heavy at all, and I felt actually good about myself or having enough greens for the day. I'm so intrigued that I wanna try all of the sandwiches on the menu. I really can't wait to have an excuse to come back soon!

It took about 20 minutes for my sandwich to be ready, and so I walked around the tiny convenience store to kill time. It is very small and packed, especially with many people, but the staff are very hardworking. When getting my sandwich, the staff apologized for the wait, to which it was not her fault that the rush suddenly came! I ate my sandwich on the go, and it was delicious. I love the textures of the bread with the sweeter meat, accompanied by the spice of the kimchi yet herb from the cilantro and creaminess from the avocado. It was a great bite, not too heavy, and I enjoyed it. Maybe the price was a little high ($19), but I'm glad I tried!

Today, I got a PISILLO panini with ciabatta bread and it was so damn big! I had half of it for lunch and the other half will be saved for my dinner! This panini was just too long and big. I had to open my mouth really wide to take bites out of the big panini and it was annoying. It tasted good though! I love the balsamic dressing, arugula, tomatoes, and bufula mozz cheese the most out of the whole sandwich! The dressing made it really good and soften the ciabatta bread for easier chewing. My poor mouth and teeth! The whole panini cost $22.21 including tax in cash. There was an atm machine by the entrance in case you don't have cash. The whole place was very cozy and tight knit chairs and tables on both sides of the restaurant. The staff was very fast and I got my panini in not time. I did not have to wait that long. I was just amazed at the size of the ciabatta bread. They had many different types of bread that I can try next time like the focaccia, sfilatino, and semolina bread that looked really good behind the display glass. They got 35 different types of panini sandwiches for you to choose from. Most of them contain meat and there are some vegetarian options that are not so pricey. I will try those next time!

The workers were so friendly and chatted with us to help us pick the perfect options for us. 2 sandwiches lasted me and my husband multiple meals. The sandwich ingredients seemed really fresh! Compared to Counter Service or the other fast casual sandwich places, Sandwell's are larger, though they tend to stick to chicken and turkey (vs. beef or pork.). The service is also very friendly. The only other sandwich for lunch alternative in this area which is possibly better is Banh Anh Em, which has banh mi at the same price point, but is only available for lunch a few days a week. But of course you're limited to just banh mi's. Very much would recommend Sandwell.

They call it the "Ross sandwich" as a homage to the Friends tv show where one episode features a Thanksgiving sandwich Monica had made for Ross that got eaten by someone else. There is also a "Rachel sandwich" but I'm not sure the origin of that one. The sandwich comes sliced in half and it's very easy to eat (you won't have stuff falling out). There are a handful of tables indoors and outdoors which is great since you can enjoy your warm sandwich immediately. I looooved the Ross sandwich--it came with turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing all in a delicious semolina sub roll. I also got a bottle of the ginger lemonade which was good. We ordered the pesto chicken salad as well which was alright, but I definitely preferred the sandwich. I wanted to order another one immediately!

Parisi Bakery - The Dennis

If you want a sandwich that earns your loyalty over decades, Parisi Bakery & Deli is that place…read more I've been eating sandwiches here for as long as I can remember, and the remarkable thing is how nothing has slipped--not the quality, not the care, not the magic. Every visit reminds you why Parisi has survived since 1903 while trends and neighbors came and went. Let's talk about The Dennis--the undisputed star and a true signature sandwich. This thing is a monster, built on Parisi's legendary fresh-baked bread that somehow stays crisp, chewy, and perfect no matter how much goodness gets piled inside. You get a crispy breaded chicken cutlet layered with thin-sliced prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, sliced tomatoes, and (if you know what you're doing) roasted red peppers. It's all brought together with their house balsamic blend and basil herb spread/pesto--bright, savory, and completely addictive. I cannot confirm or deny that the sandwich is named after me, but I can confirm it's flawless. Pro tips: * Cash only, old-school rules apply. * Come hungry or plan ahead--this sandwich is big enough to share or save half for later, and it still eats beautifully round two. * Tip the sandwich makers. These folks are artists, and the tip box deserves some love. Beyond the food, Parisi is living New York history. From its origins as an Italian bakery on Mott Street, to feeding generations of locals, to being famously beloved by Frank Sinatra (yes, the bread was shipped to California), this place is woven into the fabric of Little Italy/Nolita. Legends like De Niro and Scorsese are fans, and you can still feel that old-world soul--right down to the original brick oven relic resting in the basement. Parisi isn't just a deli. It's continuity. It's tradition. It's proof that when you do one thing incredibly well for over a century, people keep coming back. And once you've had The Dennis, you will too.
