They were very effective and knowledgeable about my needs and I looked forward to it every day. Manny the Supervisor and all of his staff took great care of my PT needs. The administrative staff did everything I needed to prepare the home care I needed when I was discharged. The food is really good sometimes but not so good others. They did change the meals I didn't care for whenever I requested. If I ever needed care again I would go here.

If there was a problem, it was quickly resolved. The rehab department and Manny did a great job. Manny worked with my mother and checked on her regularly. He was flexible with the physical therapy schedule to accommodate her needs (if she was tired or not feeling good). The Director of Nursing was always available and super kind. I would recommend Harbor Post-Acute Care Center for anyone who needs a little extra assistance and care. My mother also asked me to write this post as she is very happy about the care she received. However, my experiences with the nurses at the 200 station have been extremely disappointing. During multiple visits, I felt as though my questions were an inconvenience. The staff at that desk were not approachable or helpful, and their demeanor came across as "why are you bothering me?" I initially thought it might have just been a one-time interaction, but unfortunately, it happened more than once. When I went to other nursing stations, the staff were polite and willing to assist, which made the contrast even more noticeable. I understand that many facilities are understaffed and that healthcare workers are under a lot of pressure. I can be patient and understanding if someone is busy or brief. What was upsetting, however, was the dismissive attitude. When I asked to speak with the head nurse about my dad's condition, I was met with visible eye-rolling (yes, even behind a mask it's noticeable) and told to "write your note on a blank paper," after which the nurse looked away as if my concern wasn't important. On another occasion, I asked for help opening the family room, which was supposed to be open at 8:00 a.m. It was already 30 minutes past, and this was the second time I had asked. The only response I received was, "Well, it should be open," followed by being ignored. There was no offer to check on it or find someone who could help. Bringing a loved one to a facility like this is already emotionally difficult. A little kindness and basic courtesy go a long way. I hope this feedback encourages management to address the attitude and approach of the nursing staff at the 200 station. Anthony called us back from the waiting room by simply pointing and saying, "Oh, you can come back with me." Once seated, we explained my mom's situation, but he immediately cut us off and stated that her only option was Medi-Cal and that we should just go directly to their office. There was no explanation, no questions, and no attempt to understand her full financial picture. When I asked if he could walk us through her options, he reiterated that Medi-Cal was it. I then clarified that my mom does have passive income from a rental property, which is exactly why we came in--to understand how that income might affect her eligibility. He sighed, asked for the amount, and after we shared it, cut us off again and said we didn't qualify because the income margin is "very specific." When I asked what that cutoff was or if he could explain the options in more detail, he flatly said there was nothing else to discuss. We left feeling like a nuisance rather than people seeking help, confused about my mom's options, and extremely disappointed by the lack of care or basic explanation. It felt as though Anthony was more focused on getting through the day than providing support to someone navigating a stressful life transition. For comparison, we then visited Falcon Insurance Agency in Hawthorne, which had been recommended to us. The difference was night and day. Carmen took the time to clearly explain all of my mom's options, provided visual pamphlets, answered our questions thoroughly, and helped us complete the application. We walked out with my mom's insurance fully secured. Unfortunately, our experience at Covered California was the opposite of supportive, and we left without the guidance we came in for.

Although Kei-Ai was a bit further than some of the other facilities, we decided to place my mother here after reading the positive reviews. We had a very good experience with Kei-Ai. The staff was attentive and caring with my mother (and the other patients). She had regular physical therapy and even enjoyed the food! She ultimately stayed a few weeks longer because she felt she would make more progress on her recovery at Kei-Ai than homecare. Jeff, the director, is very professional and caring as well. You can tell that he is working hard to make this the best skilled nursing facility in the South Bay. I would definitely recommend Kei-Ai if you are looking for a skilled nursing option for your loved one.

The patients brothers flew out to get their sister back home so they could manage her care closer to them. We needed to transfer the patient from Los Angeles all the way to Falmouth Massachusetts by plane and this was no easy task for the condition the patient was in, but they helped make it happen and for that we are truly grateful. Anytime you have loved one in any facility you have to commit to doing your part. This was a trying time and The Administration team was there to make the difficult transfer happen. The family member is now at another facility near her brothers in her home State Massachusetts safe and sound. My mother has been at this facility for almost 2 years. They constantly lose her belongings and…read moreclothes we brought for her to wear to physical therapy. I brought so many hangers for her little closet and they keep getting stolen. They lost my mothers eyes glasses for a week and finally they turned up since i went down there and raised hell. Now her cell phone is currently missing and a CNA named Brianna gave her a shower and let her listen to music from her phone. But failed to give it back to her. If it doesnt show up soon im going to assume she stole it. This place is not great and they have very poor communication with family members. I leave messages and nobody ever returns my calls. One of their agents were supposed to be looking into other facilities that would care for my mom to transfer to and that person never called me back and i cant get ahold of them. DO NOT choose this place for your loved ones. Its more of a headache than anything and personal belongings get stolen. My mother has also had a rash for over 2 months now in their care and they aren't doing anything about it. Just RECENTLY my mother said they were finally getting her to a dermatologist soon. Not sure what it is but i dont even hug her when i visit. The owners have changed over to "Catalina Care Center" now. They are barely switching the business name over. I need to find a way to file a complaint with the owners.
