Wow! I had no idea what all Jimmie's Lock Shop could do. I wanted to make a copy of two keys (one I lost, the other broke) and I went to a Big Box Store first. These keys were older and not anything the Big Box Store could do, so the gentleman recommended Jimmie's. I waited all of three minutes while the owner was helping another customer. I handed him the keys (silently praying he could make a copy) and his knowledge was astounding! He knew exactly what key it was, he made me a copy right away. They had a lot of keys in stock of all shapes and sizes. I was so impressed with the customer service I received and the explanation I was given on my keys. Jimmie's was the 2nd company I called to get a key made for my car. The first guy I called couldn't figure it out and charged me for a service call then bounced. This is a very strange place. The owner assured me they would be able to fix a part to an antique door and told me to call if I didn't hear from them by a certain date. I didn't hear from them on that day, so I gave them a call. The person who answered the phone was rude and sarcastic and scolded me for calling them to check on my job. A few weeks later they weren't able to repair parts for my door or find a replacement after assuring me they could. (This is after having my door parts for several weeks). Today, I go to try and pick up my locks during posted and advertised store hours and there's no one there but a sign on the door saying they'd be back by 2:00. Since I'd driven all the way out there and it's a long drive, I called the number to see if they'd be back any time sooner. The person was so rude and sarcastic and just responded "what time does the sign say" intentionally being unpleasant. I expressed that they have been very unpleasant every time I call and I was only trying to pick up my parts and had driven a long way at which point I was hung up on by who I believe is the owner. These are very unpleasant, unprofessional and sad people who are clearly suffering so much that they are incapable of common human decency and kindness. Highly recommend Peoria Lock and Key they are nice, honest and do faster work. Jimmy is a joke. read more

Called to get a locksmith to let me in my car at 8:15 and was told it would be about 30 minutes. The guy finally showed up and got me in my car but then his tools were stuck. By the time all was done it was after 10 p.m. so I called the owner requesting a cheaper price as the dispatch told me it would only take between 10 seconds and 10 minutes and by this time this had ended up costing me money. The man who claimed to be the owner screamed at me! They threatened to call the police if I didn't pay. Not to mention the tech did not even ask for proof of ownership until after he had already unlocked the car. If I already wasn't late for work I would have waited for the police to dispute this matter. If I could give them zero Stars I would! Highly highly do not recommend this outfit. I had Jimmie's make keys for an old car that had been sitting for 30 years. They made door locks, glove compartment locks, and trunk locks as well as ignition. I took out all of the locks (except trunk lock) and took them in. They made an ignition key $35 and then they made each door lock and glove box lock. This car has never been touched and they told me each lock was different and charged me $35 for each one. Now for the kicker I was told to bring the car in so they could open the trunk and make a trunk key that should have been the same as all the others except for the ign.. They charged me $85 to open the trunk and another $35 to make a key. They had originally told me that they would be making a key for the trunk to open it so why all the charges. I also had them make copies of 4 double sided keys for a trailer. 2 of them worked and the other 2 didn't I told them they looked at the keys and made me come back for them and they said they fixed them. Wrong they still don't work and they want me to take the locks out and bring them in. Since they were making copies of the originals I shouldn't have to do that. They are very unfriendly and they overcharge. I had keys made someplace else and they work fine and charged a fraction of what Jimmie's did. I will never go back and will tell everyone I know not to use them. read more
