Arrived on time. Completed everything perfectly!!! Went above and beyond for us. Fantastic experience!!!

I can't say enough about Bill's Lock and Key. They do great work, quickly, and for a fair price. Everyone in there is friendly, knowledgable, and focused on great customer service. They're one of the best businesses of any kind in BloNo. I'm glad they're in my neighborhood! read more

I live In a house built in 1874. We are remodeling our bathroom and decided to strip the door and the hardware. After removing about 6 layers of paint off of the old square lock, we dreamed about finding a key to see if it would work. I thought it would be a slim chance but I went to Bill's lock and key. They promptly helped me by taking it apart, lubricating the mechanism and HAND CUTTING A KEY FOR IT! It works like new! I'm so grateful! The price was very reasonable too. We have a couple more of these old locks in the house and I will definitely be bringing them once we get around to stripping all the paint off of them. Thank you! read more

Great service in an emergency! We had an elderly neighbor lock herself out of the house the morning after having lost her husband, and our service tech got here quickly and got the job done in a manner of seconds. With so much else for this lady to deal with right now, it was a true relief to get her back into her home so efficiently. read more

I had an old half-mortise lock with no key and thought I had no hope of getting one. Worked with Andy and he was able to create 2 keys for me. I couldn't be happier with his communication, professionalism, timing, and pricing. Even though I have some fine locksmiths near me, I worked with them from out of state for this project. If they are local to you, It's a no-brainer to give these fine folks your business. read more

We were looking for a highly-rated locksmith in the Bloomington-Normal area that would serve outlying communities and found BILL'S KEY & LOCK SHOP via Yelp. We were not disappointed! He was very helpful from our first phone call through the actual service visit. He listened carefully as we explained our situation. He provided clear pricing for travel and likely service options. And, most importantly, he was able to quickly set up the service call, and arrived promptly and prepared. After a quick inspection, he recommended the most cost-effective option, which ended up being re-keying the 6 entry locks and not replacing any. He also corrected some prior installation errors so that all the entry and deadbolt locks were oriented correctly. We highly recommend BILL'S KEY & LOCK SHOP, and would use them again! read more

I only use bills for key making! The prices really aren't bad, super quick, and they are never bent or break. They also have an array or locks, keys, accessories and are very helpful. Tucked away just behind Wesleyan with easy parking. read more

We just moved in to a house in rural Bloomington. I saw his great Yelp ratings, so I called him to re-key all of our locks (every door had a different key when we moved in). We set a date and time over the phone, and He arrived right on time. He was friendly, and did a great job! Now we can unlock our doors with one key. He also oiled the locks, so everything works like brand new! Great job! read more

I went to school in Normal and Bills became my first and only lock shop. I now make sure I get any necessary keys or car lock issues taken care of when I'm in town. They are a fixture in uptown normal and there just can't be enough places like this family run shop. I don't know any other locksmith setting up Christmas displays to delight the kids and making sure every trick or treater on their street has a smile. The shop guys are hard working knowledgeable and care about their business. The best sign you can read of a business' true core is how their employees speak of it. In the words of Olaf, " all good things, all good things" read more

I was visiting in laws in the area, but live in Chicago. I lost my only set of car keys and was basically stuck in town. I called Bill's first thing Monday AM. They were able to move some appointments around to send someone out that same morning. I would have been stranded had they not accommodated me so quickly. They were responsive, got me a new key in an hour, and their prices fair. read more

I have been going here for years. Always great service. Polite and professional. I went 9/1/21 with an appointment to synchronize a new electronic key fob for my jeep I had bought the fob on line at a very reasonable rate. Well $10 and 10 minutes later. I'm like new. Can unlock my car at a distance. Thank you Bill and Cris. I wouldn't go anywhere else read more

Awesome service. My 88 year old door lock was not working. I called them and they came out and adjusted it and now it works perfectly!!! I am so grateful to Bill's Key and Lock Shop, they saved me so much money, I thought I was going to have to change the whole door, which would have been a shame, since it is a unique and vintage door. read more

Patrick from Bill's Key was on time and quick to help us out. I highly recommend them with any lock/key you may need.

I became a fan of Bill's Key & Lock Shop (hence the move from 3-4 stars) a few weeks ago. I had returned from being out of town only to realize that I'd left my house key a couple hours back. I called Bill's and they came out to the house. As the truck was pulling up, I found that the back door was open (I hadn't even checked because I thought I remembered locking it). Needless to say, I was a bit embarrassed but the guy in the truck told me there was no need to pay him for coming out--it wasn't very far. I paid to have some additional keys made and that was that. Very nice guy, especially given the circumstances. read more
