Love my cut!!! Naomi was amazing. She has a great personality. I felt like I've known her for a long time. I loved that she was taking her time and making sure that I was happy with the result. I've been working in Beverly Hills for 2 yrs now and I have never thought to get my hair done near the office, only because the area still intimidates me. But this place has me wanting to come back. A friend recommended Jim Wayne salon, as he gets his hair and color done and raves about it. Once i arrived I met stylist Yanai Van (hair dye genius) and i showed him pictures of celeb hair colors that i loved and advised that over all i wanted to go blonde and have dimension to my color. The process took about 5 hrs since i was going from brunette to blonde (no hair cut just dye) and i am soooo friggin happy with his work! I'm definitely going back to maintain my look and hair cut. Parking- there's a structure behind the salon with a 2 hr limit. I came in later in the afternoon so i didn't have to worry about adding more time to the meter after 6. But if your going early make sure u remember to add more $$. read more

I had a haircut today with Naomi and my mom had a haircut with Luis. Naomi was everything that people had said about her in previous reviews. Before getting started, she asked me questions to get an idea of what I wanted. Once she started, she put a lot of detailed attention and care into cutting and layering my hair, all the while trying to engage me in conversation. I have thick hair and a lot of it. She patiently cut through all my locks. I appreciated that she tried to cater to me in all ways. She also gave me tips on how to curl my hair. She gets an A+ for customer service. I want to mention that the lady who washed my hair was kind as well and offered me a drink. My mom was very pleased with Luis. She was happy that he cut exactly 1 inch like she requested and didn't cut it too short. I was apprehensive to make an appt here because I had the Formosi voucher and some reviews had indicated that you will be treated poorly. However, I didn't have that issue at all. They didn't even mention tip as I was leaving. I think tip was obviously deserved though. read more

I had never heard of JW Salon until i was raving about a friend's new hair cut and she revealed that Homercuts -- stylist to the celebrities and a local celebrity himself -- was the master who created her work of art. After working my way in to his busy schedule the first time, I was immediately jockying for the position of # 1 groupie! Not only is he sexy and funny, he rocks his scissors with the precision of a neurosurgeon -- every time he cuts my hair my hotness level increases at least 50% (if not more)! Long story short, don't walk -- RUN to Homercuts! So as you know from my former review of my crush Homercuts, Im a fan of JWS. My visit there today was no exception. I had the pleasure of getting my hair high and low lighted by Wolf -- love his swashbuckler mustache and gorgeous hair! Not only did he fit me in at the last minute, but he got the color perfect and was super efficient. All of this after I had managed to really "F" it up thinking I could just color my roots myself (as I told Wolf -- I must have been drunk when I made that brilliant decision). (1) 2pm started at 2:40pm (2) When I sat down to get my hair washed, the stylist next to me accidentally splashed my face with the water she was rinsing shampoo off her client (3) my ear and scalp hurt from stylist putting dryer so close (4) stylist put hair straightner on the floor instead of cart/table - the same floor we walk on... (5) he picked up his phone 4 times even after starting 40 min late (6) I've never had to stand my entire hair cut... I'm usually easy to please so this is the lowest rating. I believe people come into your life for a reason. I am blessed to have found Octavia who has taught me that skin starts from the inside out. She has helped me heal my soul to better skin. I was told I had to go on accutane, and I refused. I met Octavia and within 2 months my skin became better. Her products are all organic, hand made, with no chemicals. She refuses to mass produce her products because she doesn't want the quality to become compromised. She is self taught but she is magical! Her talents are a rarity in LA where new methods have taken place of old ones. She swears by old recipes, and now I do too. She has created a regimen for me that makes me excited about cleaning my face. She gave me cranberry face wash, oatmeal scrub, pumpkin masks, Shea pea cream, cranberry creams. 5 stars! Naomi is my stylist and she is the best of the best! I was new to LA, now 4 months, and was referred by a friend of mine. I have been every month now, and I refuse to go anywhere else! I was a little intimidated as it is in the heart of Beverly Hills, and this salon has quite a prestigious reputation, but when I walked in, I immediately felt welcomed and was seated right away. Naomi is extremely knowledgeable and patient, as I am always nervous and very particular, yet unable to really explain what I want done. It wasn't a problem for Naomi though, as her knowledge and skill really helped me to be able to describe what it was I wanted, she didn't miss a beat. The whole process was great. The conversation was fluid as she is fun and easy to talk to. My hair came out perfect and without a doubt, really the best hair cut I have ever received. This place is the most unprofessional scam of a salon. I've never been to a salon where the stylists don't want to cut hair. They will make every excuse in the book just so they won't have to actually cut your hair. They'll sit you down and explain to you how even though you have hair below your shoulders and you just want some layers put in you can't do that (even though I was overdue for a haircut and my regular salon is able to do this easily every time I go to them - probably because they're not lazy cheats who just wanna scam you out of your money) I bought the Formosi voucher and I've been there twice on time with scheduled haircut appointments and both time the stylists have made a bogus excuse and sent me out without a haircut. First time the guy said I needed to grow out my layers because he can't cut my hair with the layers being short. He told me to come back in 6 months. Then I just went in today after 6 months and guess what the owner tells me the voucher expires in 6 months HAHAHA literally I wanted to laugh at his face. How ridiculous is it that your employee and your receptionist assured me that it wouldn't be an issue when I came back after 6 months with my voucher and now I'm here and you're making excuses to not do your job AGAIN. If your employee misspoke then you as the owner should take responsibility and honor what your employee said. Instead the owner told me that the stylist who told me to come back after 6 months has now moved to another salon and he receptionist to give me the address of the employees New salon so I can go take up the issue with the employee at his new place of business. RIDICULOUS instead of honoring what your employee said and giving me a haircut. The owner explains to me that now he can't get paid from formosi well sorry but you should have hired better employees - that's not my problem that's your problem. You hired bad employees who don't know what they're talking about and told your customer to come back after 6 months and now your customer followed their instructions and now you're denying her your services. Honestly even the owner had just walked up to me initially he was full of excuses and didn't even take me to a chair - like I'm still waiting in the shabby waiting room chair and he is asking me what I want and I told him I just wanted some long layers (now after growing it out for 6 months my hair is almost all the way down my back) and the owner is like well I don't know how much I can do because I don't want to take off too much off the bottom you see. Mind you I have super thick and healthy hair so I wanted to roll my eyes and be like here we go with the excuses again. I've never been to a salon with lazier people that just don't want to do their job and cut hair. It's like pulling teeth. Such a waste of time and money. Save your money and time and go to a place with credible honest stylists that want to do their job. I should have run the other way seeing that they have signs up from 2014 informing of price changes from 2014!! Just run. Save your time and money. read more

I've been going to this salon for the last 6 years and I love it. I get my hair styled and cut by Tomo. I completely trust his opinion on what will look good; he points out things I didn't think about (like how much care a style will take), and explains how my hair will fall in certain cuts (I have cowlicks and "trouble" spots). I've changed my hairstyle a million times with him and before, I never had the confidence to do that - I had the same hair from age 9 - 27! Tomo is a total perfectionist and I feel like he understands what I'm looking for - something low maintenance but with effortless style. Believe me, that's not easy when all I can commit to is maybe a blowdryer and the occasional flat iron. My hair is lucky it gets shampooed and conditioned on a regular basis. The salon has decent hours, they're open Saturdays and late on Thursdays, and there's easy parking in a metered lot, which is free after 6pm. I feel like the cost is average for the neighborhood, and average for a good haircut at a salon. The service is great, no complaints! read more

I go to Bryan Nielsen for my color and I seriously have never been happier. Bryan is one of those sweet, genuinely nice guys who you don't ever feel like is secretly mad at you for being annoying and OCD about your hair - he gets it. :) He always makes me feel comfortable whether I am hungover and just want to chill or I want to diverge all of my latest gossip. This review has been long over due for the amazing hair stylist named Naomi. Visit: I first went to Jim Wayne Salon for a little change of look. I was in the process of getting rid of all the color I had done in the past and wanted to try a new look. Naomi was very friendly and gave me a great suggestion on a new look. I told her that she was free to do the cut as she thought best but I still wanted some length to put my hair in a bun. She took her time and made sure to ask me if the approximate length was fine with me before she went in to chop it off. Take note i've always had long hair and ended up with a long bob cut. HUGE difference but I loved it. It truly was the best cut I've ever had. Visit 2: I grew out my long bob cut for about 7 months before going back to her. This time I only went in to even out my previous cut and finally get rid of the ugly color i still had at the ends before going back to my natural hair color and letting it grow back to Rapunzel status. Again she was so welcoming and made sure that I was happy with the length before going in with her scissors. I finally got rid of all the damage and came out with another amazing shoulder length cut with lots of texture so it can have some style as I grow it out. Naomi, thank you for getting my hair back in shape and healthy. Overall I am very pleased with the service I received. The salon was clean and well lit. Those ginormous windows are amazing! The salon decor is simple but elegant. They make you feel very welcomed. I definitely recommend trying out this place and specially Naomi. Wolf is the best hairstylist I ever had! My old hairstylist burnt my hair, it was in patches, with color that did not match. My boyfriend took me to Wolf to try and fix this mess. I was discouraged and did not believe he would be able to do a miracle... BUT HE DID!. He advised me well, fixed my color, gave it a sexy cut and the product i got from him makes my hair feel much healthier. The product is called the Nectar of God's which you spray after you wash your hair. It leaves it shiny and healthy looking. It really helps with split ends. I love this salon. It's a little pricey but this is Beverly Hills. I've been coming to this salon since Jim Wayne opened his salon. Most of the people who work here used to work at Vidal Sassoon. So when my hairdresser left Vidal, I decided to follow her. I've been having Anne cut my hair for at least 15 - 20 years. She works part time but I like the way she cuts my hair. I like my hair cut with layers, which brings my natural curl after I wash my hair. Then I just blow dry my hair. I also been having Deborah color my hair. She's wonderful plus she's very good. I've had many people give me compliments regarding my hair color. One time she recommended I use a dark red color to cover my grays for my dark brown hair, I thought it would stand out and look odd. But it did not and it looks great. The color just blended in and makes my hair not look too dark. This salon is not very big but I feel more at home here than a very big fancy Beverly Hills hair salon. It's more of a family atmosphere. The staff here is very friendly. read more

This salon is really top notch -- I've worked with a couple of different stylists there and all are great, very easy-going and talented. It's all a good combo of professionalism and relaxed environment. Even down to the receptionist, they are courteous and really listen to you, there's not a lot of attitude like some places in Bev Hills. My favorite stylist is Lisa Shapiro -- BEST HAIRCUT EVER. I refuse to go to another salon. I usually come out of hair appointments disappointed and frustrated but not after having my hair cut and colored by Naomi. She takes the time to study your hair and explain to you how a specific cut or style should be executed depending on the texture, shape, thickness, etc of your hair. She finds a way to make what you want work for YOUR hair instead of just copying whatever image you show her or trying to replicate a style. Her knowledge of the craft shows in the final product. The owner, who cut my hair, is a nice man, very personable, and spent time with me, but sadly, I did not get a good cut at this salon. Yelp reviews were good, so I'm not sure what happened. My long hair was in desparate need of a trim, the layers were almost all grown out so it looked to be all one length. I asked that the front sides be slightly angled with movement around the bottom of the whole doo, to give the doo lift and bounce. I let him know that I wanted to avoid that bubble look at the sides that sometimes happens [when a stylist gets too jiggy with the scissors], but that's exactly what happened. Basically, I got a blunt cut in the front to my chin, no angle, and then it just drops to long hair. [You know how long it took me to grow those sides out, right?] No graduating to the long. Just short, then long. And, it's uneven, one side is longer than the other, as was remarked by a friend. To give you a visual, the short panels in the front are wide, so straight on, I look like I have a chin length bob. When I pull some hair from the back around to the front to show I have long hair, the sides looks stringy. And, the "movement" thing I was talking about, well, that didn't happen either. My hair will grow back, but I am three weeks away from a very important event, and therefore heartbroken. If I can figure out how to attach a before and after picture, I will. $155 plus tip. read more

Saw Naomi for a cut today on a recommendation from a co-worker. I never get my hair cut professionally, mostly because every time I have someone else trim my bangs for me I look like a 9 year old for two weeks (I'm suuuper into my bangs). But I was looking for a really good revenge/psychological warfare haircut, and that's way out of my wheelhouse. Naomi made my bangs short enough so that I could see out of both eyes, but kept the shape I like, and actually made them look edgier than I could achieve by myself, so I definitely don't look like a small child, (which is great because now I can wear pigtails and it won't be over the top). I also informed her that I had terrible split ends because I never get my hair cut unless there's gum in it, but that I didn't want her to take any length, and threw in a "whatever you think" to make it really clear. She basically made my hair look way better while tricking my brain into thinking it's still exactly the same length. She may be a witch. read more

This place is disgusting! Fist of all, I walk in and the receptionist gives me a glass of water with DOG HAIR all over it! Then, my appt was for 1.. I'm on time but this guys Yanai is still with another client and barely acknowledges me or the fact that he is late. Then he tells me come back two hrs later and I was like , "you just told another girl to come back at 3:30- I need more that 30 minutes on my hair! This place is a joke. Stay away! read more

This reveiw is based off the "Formosi New Sensation" beauty package purchased from Dhayana. I arrived late, I admit, however- I called ahead to let them know. All good. I arrive and Yanai is literally in between drying/cutting some chicks hair, while removing wraps/foil from another. Idk about you guys, but in my experience, hair stylists take their time on each individual client until done. Not the case here. Everythin about this guys demeanor was rushed and not very attentive or genuinely caring for clients. We go get my hair washed, he didnt even ask how the water temperature was (cold). The whole washing process was suuuper rushed an rough as he was splashing water carelessly around my face an didnt bother to properly dry me. He puts deep conditioning an says he'll be back in 10 but its more like 25 mins. On to the haircut when he remembers i'm still waiting- he horrible drys my hair, on super high heat not paying attention to my discomfort- then on to cutting. Needless to say though it was the first time getting my hair cut standing up, it wasn't a great job. Fool cut at least 2 inches when I clearly said a "TRIM". Not only that, one side was left shorter than the other because he was rushing to finish before the dump closed! Horrible customer service, horrible hair stylist, never coming again. Sorry. I met Jim when I was working down the block at another business and, no longer able to see my guy in the Valley for haircuts, needed something close by. Upon a staffer's recommendation, I ended up with Naomi. No need to look any further, because now I'm set! Naomi is friendly, warm and cuts great hair. I cannot say enough good things about the salon. The receptionist at the front is outstanding, and probably the most professional, warm and kind person I've met in the salon atmosphere. Naomi cut my hair and was fantastic. She understood exactly what I wanted when I explained it to her, even though I don't have the terminology or a lot of knowledge about cutting hair. My new favorite salon! My sister and I came in together a few weeks ago for the first time. Naomi cut my sister's hair and Jason did a deep conditioning treatment for my hair. The results were fantastic! I would definitely recommend both stylists. Today I went back again for a cut by Naomi and she did such an amazing job. I always have a hard time finding a stylist that I like and can trust to deal with my long hair, but Naomi is the best!
