I read previous reviews and was definitely setting my expectations low before checking this place out, thankfully it was a super nice day and there were ZERO ANIMALS. It did not smell, and even though the cages are still there, not one had anything in them. I don't know why you would mix food, mini golf and live animals anyway... This is a cash only place, whether you do mini golf, ice cream or food, you need to pay with cash, there is an ATM inside the ice cream parlor, there are only two tables inside but ample outdoor picnic tables, most of which are shaded by huge beautiful trees and lush well maintained landscaping. Ice cream was pretty good. The food was verrrrrrry slow. I ordered a large fry and it was really small, I even commented to the woman as she handed it to me, 'this is a large size?' And she said 'yes sorry' and my friend even commented, I wonder how small a small size is then. Highly recommend the fried cheese curds with marinara. Mini golf was the best. $4.50 under 6yrs and $6.50 for older. 24 holes... took about an hour. The holes are all well maintained and the landscaping was new and beautifully done. All the holes were fun and different and colorful. The arcade is small but there is a coin machine inside so you can have your fill of a dozen little toddler rides outside, we spent 2 hours here.

Great easy course for the little ones

This place has everything the under 12 could ask for: mini golf, crap food, great ice cream, hoops, bouncy house, black bear, and feeding zoo (you can't actually pet most of the animals unless you want to lose a finger). This is the second time in a month that my daughter has wanted to go here and she loves it. Ergo, I will be back.

I am here to report that all the workers are wearing masks, prices are still very reasonable, and service is friendly and fast.

Just a small ice cream shop, nothing real special. Could use some updating inside to modernize it a little bit and make it feel clean.

The ice cream was good but I was appalled and disgusted by the cruelty of the owner so we will never eat here again.

Well visiting and in York, PA, I stopped this past Thursday July 3, 2025, to physically say I checked out the shoe house. The shoe house was build by Mr. Haines back in 1948, to promote the launch of selling his shoes. From other fellow Yelpers, they stop tours 3 years ago. Now the property is an Airbnb, who wouldn't love to say hey let's rent the shoe house. My advice, if your checking out an area, you never been do some research, as too notable sites in the surrounding areas of your location. Fun photo opportunity, though my picture taken by kids by a little blurry in the sunset, still perfect view of the house from the street.

Living in Central PA my whole life, I'd passed the infamous Haines Shoe House on Rt. 30 more times…read morethan I can count--but I never stopped to check it out...until today. On a warm September Sunday morning, it made the perfect low-impact first adventure of the day. A little research ahead of time is key: the Shoe House is no longer open for tours. It's now an Airbnb rental (going for $300-$800+ per night), but the property owner does allow visitors to stop and admire it from outside the gated fence. You can't get super close, but close enough that your phone's zoom works just fine for photos. Parking is inside the gate for renters only, but we lucked out as the only visitors and were able to pull off to the side of the road by the driveway for a quick peek. So--was it the most thrilling thing I've ever seen? No. But it is a house shaped like a shoe--48 feet long, 25 feet high, 17 feet wide--and that alone makes it worth the bragging rights of, "Hey, I saw a giant shoe house today!" Plan for no more than 10 minutes here, since you can't go inside, but it's a fun roadside oddity and a nice addition to a sunny fall adventure. Just be respectful of the owner's request to stay outside the fence--no need to ruin this for anyone else. The Haines Shoe House even has a Historical Marker from the Pennsylvania Museum Commission, recognizing both its quirky place in local history and its unique "Programmatic Architecture." Cool, weird, quick, and very Central PA. Definitely worth a pit stop.

Then I found Turkey Hill Ice cream Experience only 30min away from Lancaster, and decided to visit. We bought the double scoop experience (comes with ice cream test lab) and obviously that was the highlight of the place! I choose one scoop; hilights of my visit- learning history of Turkey Hill, process of icecream being made, creating a virtual icecream flavor, watching the production , live from interactive camera in one of the exhibits. Be sure to take the few moments, to watch the introduction video. My favorite ice cream sample flavors were Graham Slam & Blueberry Lemon Pound Cake. An attraction must, well visiting Lancaster, PA. My recommendation would be too sell a few more flavors that you offer , with unlimited tastings. My favorite was orange icedtea.

Hands down best milk farm in York County. If we are being…read morehonesy their chocolate milk is top notch only compared to Oregon Dairy in Lancaster. We got their Chocolate Covered Strawberry Milk, it was very good, but I think I still prefer traditional chocolate milk. They have other unique flavors of milk such as Vanilla, Strawberry, Orange Creamsicle and Cookies and Cream. Their Ice cream is fantastic, but our favorite is the Sherbert Push Pops. Think the old Flintstones ones from when you were a kid and the ice cream truck came around...BUT BETTER! In the summer, they have cows you can feed and pet. Tons of things for kids to do here. They have cutouts for photo ops and tons of area outside for kids to run around and play. It is an active dairy farm. Tons of farm decor and learning experiences. You can watch how they milk cows and bottle their milk. Service was average. Kids were running the show, is what it is. The cashier didn't even ask us if we wanted a bag after checking us out. He walked away and we bagged our own products which included 3 milks and 2 ice cream pints. If it wasn't for the service easy 5 star review.

Not only is this a working dairy farm where you can take a self guided tour (see the milking parlor and bottling plant) but they have a shop on-site where you can buy all their delicious varieties of milk, cheese, baked goods and other treats. We loved meeting all the calves and also getting to speak with one of the owners who was extremely generous with her time and spoke to me and my little one about the farm, their process with keeping their cows happy throughout all year in all temperatures and maintaining the farm. We will absolutely go back when we're in the area! This is a must see for anyone who appreciates cows, milk or just seeing a farm in action.
