My experience was FANTASTIC!!! Jennifer bent over backwards to A) make sure the items I needed were in stock before I placed the order; B) worked with me in a very timely fashion to get my order shipped out so that I could count on receiving by my deadline; C) was open to using my FedEx account number and setting up the shipping with them, as an extra step to seeing that my order arrived on time. GREAT communication all through the process! It appears as if the negative Yelp reviews are rather old for the most part. My experience is somewhat like everyone else- the only difference is that I did receive my item, but it was the wrong size. I tried contacting her to let her know I either want a refund of the next size up and ill pay the difference our an exchange. But still no response from her. I really wanted to like this company as they has so many items I needed for my daughter's birthday party. However, after looking at the reviews on this site I was more than a little nervous to place an order. I did send a text the number listed on the website asking about turn around times and received a call a few hours later. The lady who called (I am assuming the owner) wanted me to read each and every item I planned on ordering to her so she would be able to tell whether it was in stock or not. Her exact words were, "people just don't get it, I don't carry all these items all the time." My experience is basically the same of everyone elses who has dealt with the business. I order $175 bucks in supplies for my son's birthday and a couple of days later got a shipping notification. Two weeks later, I hadn't seen anything and my son's party was approaching, so I was getting a bit worried things would make it in time, so I emailed the owner and got no response for a couple of days. Finally, I tried to resolve the matter through paypal and once I did that, she got back right away, was very nice and apoligized. She said she would expidite things, so I figured it just must have been some glitch in her system. I am highly disappointed in the customer service, well lack thereof, in this company. I placed an order and was so excited when I found just the stuff I needed to host a bridal shower for my niece. An item was missing when I received my order, but the packing label did not reflect the missing item. I immediately sent an email and left a message. I never write reviews, however, after having purchased $50 (on 8/11/17) in fabric tape and not receiving a refund after I mailed back the items I am disgusted with the "company's" blatant disregard for customer service. I had the first roll of tape that I opened fall apart in my hands--no stick to the back. I then inspected the second roll to find it was very poor quality. Nothing was worth the money. Super cute items but this company needs to reconsider its shipping methods. For example, I placed an order on July 29, filled out their web form saying I needed the stuff by Aug 10 and as of Aug 17 I still don't have my merchandise. Turns out it was sent parcel post, which is the slowest method the USPS has and was misrouted by the USPS. Even without the postal service mix up, my package never would have arrived on time. And several days after I placed my order and received a tracking number I received an email from the company's web server saying my message (about when I needed the items) could not be delivered. I do not recommend shopping with jillybeankids.com. I understand that the business is run by a young mother who seems to be doing all the work herself, but that is no excuse for exceptionally poor customer service. The website has really great products with a nice variety, but I found the site hard to use because it is dated - it really needs to be upgraded to make it more user friendly. I have a feeling this would help improve business/sales for the company. That's not my issue or real complaint though. Over a span of 4 weeks earlier this year, I spent almost $500 with the company by placing 2 big orders. A few weeks after I received the items, I realized I needed to return a few of them. I filled out the necessary form and sent the items back at my own expense with the understanding that a restocking fee would be deducted from the refund total, which was fine with me. Weeks went by and I heard NOTHING in response from the company. I called 8 times and emailed 4 times, and I literally got no response at all. I'll add here that my messages and emails were totally pleasant - no hostility or upset - just a friendly follow-up on the return! Then, out of nowhere, three months after I returned the items, I got a partial refund, with no explanation of what took so long. I simply received a paypal refund receipt and no email or communication from the company. While I appreciate the refund and am relieved that I got SOMETHING, I think the lack of communication and the long delay on the return are simply unacceptable. I would attempt to get the complete refund, but it seems useless and would likely be more of a waste of my time. Overall, I think this review is a shame. I am a young mother and I work full time, as well. I want to support businesses run by mothers/women, but I cannot support this business and you should not either. Something is very wrong with this business. They appear to be thieves. The number of reviews that indicate customers paid for merchandise and never received items is disturbing. This is fraud and outright theft of money. I only ordered $12.30 worth of items. I contacted Jilly Beans several times and subsequently through Paypal dispute because I didn't receive my items. I finally heard back that they were on top of the mistake and my order would be shipped out. As a result I did not escalate the dispute. My mistake was believing they were people who would keep their word. I am now working with my bank to get charge reversed. I intend to file a complaint with CA. Attorney General's Internet Crimes Division at the suggestion of police. I encourage all the other people that were cheated out of their money to do the same. Jilly Bean should be shut down for taking money and not providing merchandise. They are either very dishonest or very incompetent. read more
