When you have curly hair, going to a new or different salon can bring up traumatic experiences. Thanks to the other yelpers, I booked an appointment with Jake and I couldn't be happier! Big city style and experience for a small town price! My cut plus tip was cheaper than my base hair cut price in St. Louis! Next time I can't make the trip to St. Louis, I won't hesitate to book an appointment! My only suggestion is that they move their products over by the cash register, I forgot to buy something before they ran my card. When I showed up to my appointment, Aiden told me that my booking was a mistake/that nobody was available to cut my hair. Please understand that I would have no problem with an honest mistake, and I would not be upset if this situation was handled with any sense of apology from the business for playing with my time. However, it was apparent to me based on Aiden's demeanor that it had not been a "mistake", because he was not even remotely apologetic, and he made absolutely zero effort to even ask if I wanted to reschedule/to retain me as a customer; he simply insinuated I had to leave. I believe Aiden refused to service me when he saw who I was (I have never interacted with him in real life, but we have seen each other on Grindr; I had no idea he worked here, and regardless it didn't matter to me, because I came to get my hair cut, not to interact with any human being in particular). I think it's hard to rate an entire salon because obviously it depends on the individual stylist you get, and they are not all going to be good. If they aren't going to listen and you're stuck growing a haircut for a year then they're not a good stylist! I would rate Tina 5 stars! She knows how to cut and style hair and she listens! They have an amazing neon sign near the hair washing station that I will have to get a picture of next time. This morning I met with Nicole for a fresh haircut. She was amazing!
