The owner Bonnie can be strict at times but its just to get you to be the best you can be and it is also for yours and the horses safety. Its a great experience and i love to go every sunday. Its great for begginers and experienced riders both! The price is good and i find that at the end of every lesson i have a smile on my face:) People might think that the horses are 'plodders' as i have read on one previous comment but thats harsh as they are well looked after and are happy and friendly, and it all depends on how well you get them up together in the ride. I would highly recommend this stables for anyone, because it has helped me progress through the years and become a better horsewoman. Bonnie and Jordan are very friendly despite what people may say and i have had goods rides with them both. Every week i find myself learning something new and interesting. I never get tired of the lessons because i love horses so much and practise makes perfect. My favourite things to do in the lessons are: -jumping -bareback -canters -no stirrups and i like to ask bonnie to have hard rides as i like a challenge I love this stables and ive made lots of friends, horses included, if people dont like it here then thats there choice but i wouldnt go to any others stables. The four assigned horses: Mr. Diddles, Max, Springy, and Nibbles (we think...), were perfectly matched. What a glorious adventure. For those living in Whitchurch or the surrounding areas, this is a well-located riding stables…read morewhere you can have group lessons with well-qualified, BHS approved instructors in a lovely rural setting. It's situated on a lane just off the busy A37, near Whitehall Garden Centre, so it's right on the edge of Bristol in a beautiful, tranquil area of greenbelt - the perfect location for riding. The horses are well-cared for, and aren't over-used for lessons - they don't work long hours, and it shows - they're responsive, friendly and relaxed. The staff are equally friendly, and the whole stables is well-maintained, and although the outdoor school is a bit on the small side (20x40 metres) it's still big enough for a decent course of jumps and caters well for the reasonably small group sizes they usually include in lessons. Private lessons are also available, as are hacks out on the pretty lanes around the stables. If you own a horse or pony, they also provide good private (and well-ventilated) stabling, tack room facilities and quality grazing, on part / full working livery.

Ok so this isn't in Cardiff but its pretty near and something I think everyone should do…read more Despite the fact that I got thrown of my horse onto the ground, this is one of the best riding experiences I have had. Just for the record being thrown happened because something spooked my horse. All of their horses are really well trained and you get a horse suited to your ability and size. So basically the ride involves wading through the river, walking through the sand dunes (canter if your experienced) and then you get to go onto the beach right up to the sea front if your horse is in the mood. I've ridden before and loved being able to have a gallop on the beach. Instructors stay with more nervous or less experienced riders, but still offer advice if our out of practice and need a few pointers. The views are stunning and you just know these are well looked after horses and are having as much fun as you are. 2 Hours costs £35 which is a bargain.

However I had a nasty accident and landed on my neck whilst on our trampoline. I rang that morning to cancel and apologise as I had to go to the hospital. Angela was blunt, rude and I ended up emotionally upset when the phone was put down. She told me I was not welcome to ride at their stables again which I have been doing so for the past 5 years (every time for my birthday). I feel I gave them sufficient notice so that the horses wouldn't have been tacked up ready for us and its not like we just didn't turn up. I am appauled by the lack of customer service or compassion. I will not be attending here again.

Naturally I'm a bit of a concerned dad and the thought of popping my little girl on a big unruly animal capable of flinging her God knows where is frankly terrifying! What a lovely surprise then to find the Boeley Equestrian Centre to be an incredibly reassuring experience. On arrival I was warmly greeted and the check in process was simple. They even changed the pony assigned on realising how small my daughter was, which certainly helped calm any nerves! They provide a helmet for new starters and all kids in this starter class get to ride in the same indoor paddock so they can see how the others kids get on. Each rider had personal supervision and they even allowed the ponies to break into a trot so it wasn't just plodding around for an hour. Parents get to sit in a viewing gallery and that's probably my only niggle is that this was completely unheated which for Feb meant it was an ice box. Wrap up warm! As a first visit ever to an equestrian centre it met all my expectations for beginner classes so I'd highly recommend this to any parent with an enthusiastic show jump wannabe!
