Chelsea-Leigh Bennett:) Sunday Girl:)…read more AMAZING! Ive been going to this stables for about 8-9 years and its brilliant! All the ponies are well cared for and are great to ride. The owner Bonnie can be strict at times but its just to get you to be the best you can be and it is also for yours and the horses safety. Its a great experience and i love to go every sunday. Its great for begginers and experienced riders both! The price is good and i find that at the end of every lesson i have a smile on my face:) People might think that the horses are 'plodders' as i have read on one previous comment but thats harsh as they are well looked after and are happy and friendly, and it all depends on how well you get them up together in the ride. I would highly recommend this stables for anyone, because it has helped me progress through the years and become a better horsewoman. Bonnie and Jordan are very friendly despite what people may say and i have had goods rides with them both. Every week i find myself learning something new and interesting. I never get tired of the lessons because i love horses so much and practise makes perfect. My favourite things to do in the lessons are: -jumping -bareback -canters -no stirrups and i like to ask bonnie to have hard rides as i like a challenge I love this stables and ive made lots of friends, horses included, if people dont like it here then thats there choice but i wouldnt go to any others stables. Amazing!

Great stables, ponies all in fantastic condition, even well tempered, staff friendly and helpful…read more Brilliant place to learn to ride!!

Ok so this isn't in Cardiff but its pretty near and something I think everyone should do…read more Despite the fact that I got thrown of my horse onto the ground, this is one of the best riding experiences I have had. Just for the record being thrown happened because something spooked my horse. All of their horses are really well trained and you get a horse suited to your ability and size. So basically the ride involves wading through the river, walking through the sand dunes (canter if your experienced) and then you get to go onto the beach right up to the sea front if your horse is in the mood. I've ridden before and loved being able to have a gallop on the beach. Instructors stay with more nervous or less experienced riders, but still offer advice if our out of practice and need a few pointers. The views are stunning and you just know these are well looked after horses and are having as much fun as you are. 2 Hours costs £35 which is a bargain.

Myself and 4 friends were booked on to go riding for my birthday last weekend. I was so looking…read moreforward to it and the weather was amazing. However I had a nasty accident and landed on my neck whilst on our trampoline. I rang that morning to cancel and apologise as I had to go to the hospital. Angela was blunt, rude and I ended up emotionally upset when the phone was put down. She told me I was not welcome to ride at their stables again which I have been doing so for the past 5 years (every time for my birthday). I feel I gave them sufficient notice so that the horses wouldn't have been tacked up ready for us and its not like we just didn't turn up. I am appauled by the lack of customer service or compassion. I will not be attending here again.

I did this with my girlfriend after her mate inconsiderately got pregnant leaving a spare space to fill. Truth be told I didn't really expect to enjoy it but I was pleasantly surprised. I was paired with Coyote the horse, who is the rebel of the outfit. It was a match made in heaven. Coyote was good, he did what he was told, as long as he was told with conviction. We trotted around the forest for a couple of hours and then returned to the centre where we were given a BBQ lunch, which was surprisingly good. The only part of the experience I didn't like was the very start and end when we had to ride our horses along the road and I became one of those people who I hate when I'm driving. It's unavoidable given the location, but I berate people who ride horses on roads so this filled me with emotional turmoil.

The price was reasonable and we could not have had a more wonderful experience. The horses were carefully selected with a much smaller horse for my 4 year old and a larger one for the 7 year old. All of the staff we met - without exception - were friendly, happy, enthusiastic and kind with our girls. They took their time helping them get ready and most importantly have really good instruction. The girls actually got to learn how to direct and control the horses themselves whilst being guided and led by the instructor on a short walk. It was really impressive that they learned something in such a short time. We left wishing we had bought much longer time and will definitely be back next time we visit the U.K. Excellent.

River Avon

I reckon the City of Bristol is defined by its rivers (that's right, I found out from a guide on…read moreour boat tour, that there is actually a hidden river that flows underneath the city, called Frome). And the Avon cuts around the city center and creates all these bends and quirks in the landscape, as well as bringing an enormous sense of flow, energy and vibrancy to the City. I massively enjoyed doing a bit of the Avon river walk and would thoroughly recommend heading down to the M shed on a weekend, to get on their River Avon Tugboat ride for £6 per person for 30 mins- it's especially glorious being out on the river on a sunny day. Loved being able to encounter one of the Locks on the river so up-close and personal, and was excited to see there is actually a ferry that runs from Bristol to Bath in the summer months, and so something I might try and do on my next visit. Massive tip o' the hat to Yelper Laura W whose review I highly recommend reading for why the River is called "Avon" - I totally was unaware of that historical nugget and it really make me chuckle to find out about its origins. I had also really liked Yelper Sam G's photos of the Avon river over the suspension bridge walk, but wasnt able to get that view over the Gorge on this visit, so something I will endevour to get to on my next visit here. So lots to see and do on the River Avon in Bristol! Yelp 154/ 2019

The Mighty Avon It…read morecuts right through the heart of Bristol. As some of you might know Bristol used to be a part of the county of Avon which existed between 1974 - 1996. Some people think it still does exist and letters and address' still have Avon listed on them. Anyway the fact that the river avon flows through the city is probably soemthing to do with why the county of Avon was called... well ... Avon! A riverside walk on a sunny day comes highly recommended. If you start out in the City centre, round Bristol Bridge, or futher along towards the Arnolfini then make you way towards the suspension bridge (will probably take around 40 minutes) I can garantee a beautiful walk. There are also some great river side bars and resteraunts to stop off at on the way, when you get to the suspesion bridge walk over it to have the best views of the river and the Avon Gorge.
