Surprised to see some changes for instance: not being able to clean corn on the cob and no trash bin for it. Then when I opened the corn at home 3 of the 5 of them were no good pinkish areas near the center of the cobs. I wasn't about to hold on to it until the next time I'm down in Rutland to the store! So off to the wild animals, at least they got to enjoyed them, they even took off with the cobs! Also, been noticing some empty shelves, no items in the sale bin and the usual prices keep increasing. Everyone one is friendly and the store is clean.

They recently redid the store too, and it's still pretty easy to find everything. My husband had a problem with one of the staff members (he said some pretty rude things to a 13 year old) but he contacted the store manager and the staff member was removed, sent through a training, and put back on staff (he's much politer now and we haven't had any more problems with him. I love saving those pennies. This one is located in a busy area and many stores/restaurants around. Parking was plentiful. We were visiting the area and needed some travel essentials. I noticed this one was pretty disheveled compared to others I've been to. There were items strewn all over the aisles; it was as if it was after a black Friday sale and people came and tore up the place. However, when we went it wasn't that busy. The cashier was friendly and we were able to get our essential travel items. In the end, we got what we needed and I'm a fan of DG; even though some were more messy than others.

Normally during the winter season. I walked in through their back door in which the window was steeled bar LOL. The girls we're friendly from the get-go! Either they worked for the family or just seasonal people working through the winter. Very hospitable and friendly upon first interaction. Organized with their products just like a local corner gas station should, though its in the middle of nowhere on Route 22! The restroom was clean and pleasant with a bit of rural northeastern decor. They also have a little sandwich shop which are made by order with local Vermot cheeses if you like. Now they do have only i gas pump which is fine for rural town. The lighting around the around could need some work at there is only one light below the huge Gulf sign shining above. I would rate them 4 star's but instead will add an honorery 1 star just cause...

I don't understand how this doesn't have thousands of positive reviews. What if I told you that between Boston and Middlebury, VT you can find a gas station with delicious sandwiches? I told my wife that, and she had 0 interest in trying them. But then she did, and immediately her mind changed. We stop on the way up and back on any trip to Vermont. It's 2 hours from Boston, and about an hour and a half from Middlebury, so it's the perfect spot for an off-highway meal. Any trip to Vermont isn't complete without at least one of these sandwiches - and if we have to skip, it's always with the promise that next time we will make sure to stop. I'm not going to say that these sandwiches are the best in the world. They're not made with impeccable ingredients, locally-sourced from farmers who care. No, what these sandwiches are are middle-of-the-country, happened-up, secret-back-deli sandwiches that will fill you quickly and happily. You're going to order your sandwich from someone who may be slightly annoyed that you're bothering them into making you a sandwich, but don't take that as a negative - they're still going to make you the same delicious sandwich every single time, without variance. You're going to be hesitant, but that's okay. Live a little and eat a gas station sandwich.
