Updating my review…read more Still coming to Chase and his team at Gate Avenue Service - I think we've brought 4 vehicles here now over 10 years. First and most importantly, Chase and his team are honest and hard working. They are extremely busy but always make time to diagnose and give second opinions. They have saved me money and given me solid advice multiple times when dealerships were leaving me astray. Most recently Chase and his team helped me to advocate (aka fight) Hyundai to get a replacement on my engine. Chase provided me all the documentation that Hyundai required not once, but twice, and in paper and in e-mail after Hyundai "misplaced" it. Chase did both of these requests same day. Chase has seen me at my worst (in tears) completely overwhelmed with car stress (and I don't speak car) and also completely flustered trying to explain what felt off with my vehicle when I seriously was not describing it well. The team at Gate is always courteous and treat me and all the customers I have ever seen with respect. The only limitation or downside with Gate is that they are really busy - and for good reason! So you may have to wait a bit for an appointment but they will always treat you right! PS They offer a program to store your tires for you! So I am comfortable in providing an honest and reliable review of this business. All of our dealings during that time have been with this company's first point of customer contact, that being Chase, the Manager. Chase has mastered the art of making clients feel welcome as soon as they enter the premises. I can easily say that Chase has provided top notch,first class customer service to us. I know my wife appreciates always being treated in a courteous and friendly manner. The quality of repair work is at a high standard and the prices are reasonable. The car lot recommended we take car to Tichi on 142 Street. Tichi diagnosed a cracked head and it was repaired under warranty at no charge to us. Car ran fine afterwards. Later had a problem with no heat. Tichi diagnosed a faulty thermostat and repaired it at nominal cost. This year, car suffered some body damage in a parking lot incident. Worked with Kash at Tichi who recommended a body shop who did a great job fixing the damaged parts at a reasonable cost. Very happy with all work to date and will continue to use them for all work despite that the car is now in Calgary where the driver is going to school and we would have to bring it to Edmonton for repair.

Only until I had a recall on my 97' Honda CRV I brought my car to the Honda dealership (on 97st) that they told me I needed about $3500 of work (which they did not provide me a list of problems to take with me to discuss with my husband). I wanted a second opinion so we went to Tichi Auto. Kash (owner/mechanic) was straight forward and honest of what was needed. He told me what the immediate concerns that had to be fixed now, what can wait and what his overall advice was. The pricing was fair and not close to ridiculous price the dealership quoted. Recalling from memory, the problems that the dealership even mentioned was not even problems that were discussed with Tichi. By repairing what was needed and a tune up (don't think I had a proper tune up until taking it to Tichi), my car has been up and running smoothly for quite a few months now. Its an older car but it feels brand new. I had my mom take her car there and it also has not had any issues since then. Being a person who knows close to nothing about cars is a prey for many to be taken advantage of. With Tichi Auto Repair you can be rest assured that they are being straight forward and honest. Prices have almost tripled in the last 6 months, and sometimes I've seen people waiting 15 minutes before someone even greets them. They order wrong parts or forget to order them complete then lie when questioned about the ETA, passing the blame off. But there's never a shortage of alcohol and cigarettes in the break room, or random alcoholics spouting racist jokes off. One journeyman technician on site out of the 3 that pull wrenches.

It was just a lucky break that I found out about this FORD Auto Repair facility that opened…read morerecently, our neighbor Colin being the shop manager. They have allot of seasoned mechanics that deal with all makes and models of vehicles. All their staff are friendly and experienced professionals. Hats off to their General Manager - Billy, and Service Advisor/Parts Person/Receptionist - Tara who took the time to chat with me while I waited in their very large Covid Compliant waiting room ( I was the only customer waiting). They offered to shuttle me home and back, but decided to wait as I did not want to put them out. I had gone to a muffler shop to get an oil change and they said we needed a brake service and a new rack and pinion. We refused the new rack and pinion and new brakes but went for the brake service (flush and clean calipers) as this was the third time they mentioned it (had done 3 oil changes there before). When we came to get our car, the bill came to $400. They forgot to do the oil change. I decided not to go back, especially when I heard that others who had gone there had been fed the same hype about needing a brake service which they fortunately refused and found out later their brakes were fine. So when I heard from my son that Ford had opened a new repair facility and that our neighbor was the shop manager, and that the location was only 5 minutes away, we decided to try them out and take our 2.0 Accord ILX there to get that oil change and find out exactly what the muffler shop charged us for. Results: The good news first. Colin found out that because our battery was low (over 3 years old) it was giving false readings indicating a problem with our rack & pinion. The muffler shop mechanic said the front tires had allot of play in them, however that was not the case at all. Once the battery was replaced and a road test done, and retested, the Rack and Pinion passed with flying colors. The muffler shop quoted $4500 just for a new rack and pinion, but Colin and another repair shop we have gone to quoted $2500 installed. CITY2PERFORMANCE did the oil change, and 60 point inspection and except for a new battery, everything was fine including our brakes and rack & pinion.^_^ The bad news. The muffler shop ripped us off, and did a flush that was not needed and the brakes were not serviced and Colin took photographic evidence to show me. The nuts on the brakes needed to service them had not been removed at all ... it was so evident. So the only thing they did was do a brake fluid flush which was not required and actually replaced the air filter as I had asked. Still the question is why they didn't do the oil change when the service oil light was on, yet they replaced the air filter? Need Auto Service and Repair work done? My advice... before you go anywhere else, try out CITY2PERFORMANCE and tell them Ron sent you. ^_^
