My parents have also used West Coast a bunch of times. My car was having some pretty severe issues. I didn't need an appointment to come in, the car was fixed by the next day (we could have got it back the same day if we wanted, but we let them keep it overnight for some extra testing) They didn't try to upsell us at all. They mentioned a few things that they noticed needed done and when we said not now..they didn't push. And these were things that would be obvious with the work they were doing..they didn't go out of their way to pull out air filters or check unrelated things we didn't ask them to, like Subaru did. Everyone was super polite, professional, friendly, and very quick to answer whenever we called. We were in and out quickly for both drop off and pick up. It was extremely pricey, but what isn't these days. But also, I did have a lot of broken stuff. I am no longer allowed to drive it like it's stolen.

I first reached out to Tom asking about Bridgestone Potenza RE-71RS tires. He asked if I meant the RE-71RZ, and I clarified that I specifically wanted the RE-71RS because that's what I currently have on my car. After that, I never received another response. Since I ended up getting the tires myself, I went on their website and scheduled an appointment to have two tires mounted and balanced. Greg then texted me asking me to confirm that I already had the tires before he could give me pricing. I responded right away, gave him the tire information, explained exactly what I needed, and also asked about an alignment. Hours went by and once again, no response. At this point, it just feels like I'm wasting my time trying to give them my business. I previously had an issue where my wheel valves were scratched during service, although, to their credit, they did replace the damaged one. Ever since that situation, though, the communication and service toward me have felt different. I can't say for sure if that has anything to do with it, but if a shop doesn't want my business, I'd rather they tell me instead of leaving me hanging. After being ignored by two different employees while simply trying to purchase tires and schedule service, I won't be returning, and I can't recommend them to my friends or other car enthusiasts that I know. I understand technical issues can happen, but that still doesn't explain my entire experience. I contacted Tom before this outage and after I clarified that I wanted the RE-71RS, I never received another response. Then when I scheduled through the website, Greg reached out to me directly asking for information and I replied immediately. From my perspective, I had already been having communication issues before yesterday's outage. Also, bringing up my other Yelp reviews has nothing to do with the service I received from your shop. My review is based on my actual experience trying to spend money with your business and repeatedly not getting a response. If the outage caused yesterday's delay, I'm willing to acknowledge that, but it doesn't erase the lack of communication that happened beforehand. I simply expected better communication from a business I've used before.

Never again. Switching to this Valvoline was the BEST CHOICE. 6 reasons (sorry for the long review): 1. This one has a GROUPON. It is extremely affordable and the guys don't give you any shade for showing up with the groupon. Indeed, my rep DANIEL (thank you emoji) even helped me get on the wifi because it wasn't downloading. He showed me how to redeem it. Regarding the groupon. Be aware of what oil you need and be careful about which Valvoline's accept the groupon. The Synthetic is not much more than the standard on groupon (and synthetic oil is actually much more than standard in general). Daniel helped me understand and I confirmed it with my mechanic brother who lives in another state and he said Daniel was telling me truth. 2. I had literally duct taped a part of my undercarriage because it was dragging (thanks mechanic brother who told me what it was) so I was convinced that during the oil change the reps would tell me "oh you have to pay more for us to get past your do-it-yourself issue." Instead, I told them about it and they were like "no problem" and worked around it! They even explained to me what the loose panel was and were like, "it's working, no salt or snow in CA, no off-roading for you." Again, brother on text said, "Daniel doing right by you" 3. The did try to up-sell me but in the most procedural and respectful way. They are required to offer other services but they roll through it and give you no judgment when you decline. 4. I actually tried to give Daniel and his manager Jose a tip and they REFUSED it. Then I tried to offer to buy them a coffee and again refused me. They said that it was a pleasure to help me. WHAT??? Seriously wow. 5. This Valvoline shows you everything. They show you the oil they are using, they show you your dipstick after it's filled, they explain the filter and what they did, and the price is transparent and right in front of your face on the computer. Further there is a camera on the bay that proves what they have done and thus, there is a degree of protection on both ends. 6. DANIEL and supervisor JOSE were the most respectful, kind, patient, and explanatory people I have ever met. I felt very comfortable and felt the entire process was FAIR and within my price range. THEY ARE THE BEST. Ask for them. Thank you to both. My first time there and I have already told 3 people about this location. I will never go anywhere else.

Incompetent techs. My father brought his Audi in for an oil change. The techs at this location…read moredrained his transmission fluid instead, didn't notice, then overfilled his car with a full dose of oil not noticing that it hadn't been drained. They only realized their mistake when they went to put the car in gear and couldn't get it out of Park. The techs then refused to fix the issue (because they only do oil changes) and my father was forced to call a tow truck on his own and have the car taken to a reputable shop. Just an absolute clown show. Your business does exactly one thing and you guys managed to screw it up.

Long story short, the only negative part of my experience is the fact I can't find the employee's name who helped me. They took my car in immediately, did a thorough work up, explained what needed to be done now and what could wait, and even knocked off a fee for a new air filter since I had to have a few unexpected services done on my vehicle. And best of all (to me, personally), everyone I talked to was willing to explain why something had to be done, and didn't make me feel dumb or lost about something just because I don't know a ton about auto maintenance. The price they quoted me was fair and reasonable, and honestly pretty comparable to most shops nearby.
