I have to give credit where it due. I went in there and was out in less than 20 minutes. This location puts the "J" in Jiffy Lube. Other locations have been kind of "Iffy." This Harlem Avenue location is my favorite Jiffy Lube for several reasons, but topping the list is customer service/enthusiasm! I always feel welcomed and valued. As soon as I pull in, a staff member comes out to greet me, shows me to the waiting area, and gets started on the processs for getting my car's oil changed. There is a nice tidy waiting room. Great communication throughout the whole experience. Clark was exceptional today, explaining what he found and showing me my air filter that needed to be changed. He also called me out to the work station to show me a serpentine belt that he noted was not looking too sturdy and encouraged me to have my mechanic take a look. Only go to this place for oil changes....I got my spark plugs done on my Lexis truck...and a year later one is going bad....I went back up there...and the guy Manger was really polite and even tried to help...since my year warranty had just expired the 25days ago...and with my car I usually don't need them changed like every 3-4 years.. the one that needed to be changed has now turned into ALLLLL FOUR NEEDED TO BE CHANGED AND THE ONLY WAY TO DO IT IS NOW ALL 4 COILS HAVE to be changed now too...is what the Manager Erica told me.... which is far from the truth. I called this location on Wednesday, September 4th to ask if they fix slow leak tires. The young man - Clarke quickly and politely answered - Yes Ma'am. We will check it out for you. When I got there, the manager Tru greeted me with a big smile and hello, opened my car door and asked how he could help me. I told him and he said, yes ma'am we will check it out for you. He said one of my guys will escort you to the waiting are and one of my other guys will pull your vehicle in. The young man escorted me in and kindly said, make yourself comfortable ma'am, there's the bathroom, the coffee and the magazines! Clarke checked out my tire while I had a very pleasant conversation with Tru. Although they could not find anything wrong with my tire, I will never forget this experience with these young men. I have been going to Pet Boys in Forest Park to have my auto serviced for years, in spite of the fact that I have never been pleased with the service provided by the staff. The last straw was having to deal with Alex the manager last week. He was unfriendly and not very helpful, and I made up my mind that it was the last straw, and I was not going to use their services anymore!! I went to Jiffy Lube at 215 S. Harlem Oak Park today for the first time and was very pleased. Angel the mechanic greeted me with a welcoming and friendly smile, and Kewon the manager was professional and helpful. Came in because auto free check engine light service was not available during covid-19 times. I went to jiffy lube... Never again. They said they did stuff to my car yet the car was exactly the same. Now at a different mechanic shop where they said there would be no charge for the check up. This nice guy, Larry, is nice enough to put air in my tires that Jiffy Lube didn't. Makes me wonder if jiffy lube did ANYTHING to my car and then charged me after guarantee that my car would run the best. read more

The Jiffy Lube #234 on Jackson and Harlem in Oak Park caused unnecessary damage to my vehicle that ended up with me shelling out $1500 to repair after paying $250 in recommended "signature" services at Jiffy Lube that I didn't need; not to include the 2 $60 tickets I received from not being able to move my car because it was rendered immobile; Nor the $20 per day storage fee for having to get my Gracie off the streets because the registration and insurance lapsed for monies unavailable due to Jiffy Lubes negligence! Unfortunately I had to give this place at least one star, which this establishment is definitely not deserving of, in order to write a review. Before I start with my personal experience, I would like to note that another yelp reviewer, Marisa, posted photos of her "levels" upon entry and what was "completed", and lo and behold I ended up having the same, identical readings as she has/had. What are the chances of that happening, or is that what is just pre-determined and plugged into their system, more like it, I think?!!! Anyhow, went up there to get a windshield wiper replacement and oil change. The place tried to sell me on some spark plug replacement, "since I was overdue with my mileage", only they had added 100,000 miles onto my current 70k odometer reading. When I was out in their bay area for that -- which is slippery from oil and water/slush from the weather and should not even be allowed, but had to be there in order to view their recommendations -- I saw all of the snow and leaves from the fall tucked underneath my hood, close to the windshield, which I offered and asked if I could personally remove that, to which "Lonzo" said they would take care of it, which of course never happened. Anyhow, Lonzo ended up asking me if I wanted my windshield wiper installed -- hello, that's what I came there for and talked to you as my first contact person about -- to which I of course replied yes. Long story short, Lonzo went to ring me up, and I found a coupon online that doesn't/didn't expire till sometime in January of 2023, a month, from now, which he stated they couldn't accept. Was told they did not carry my windshield wiper, so just clipped back on my old one, the part I brought in. Bill comes out to be $143, so I asked why it would be so much for simply an oil change. Well, if I waited for Lonzo to do the math in his head, due to the supposed extra quarts of oil I needed for my four-cylinder car -- which I never in my life needed more that five quarts of oil in all of my oil changes -- I would have suffered from frostbite. I told him just to print my invoice, and I could view it on there. Well, wouldn't you know that they just went ahead and charged me $26-something for a new windshield wiper they didn't even have in stock and therefore never installed, as well as nearly $12 in additional oil, that my car doesn't even require! I immediately asked for a credit, in which Lonzo replied he couldn't do, and I would have to call back and ask for the manager, although he didn't know what day the manager would be in again, so I took down the manager's name and asked for his name, which must have set off some light bulbs in the poor brother's noggin, cuz he called over another employee, showed him my invoice, and proceeded to WHISPER in this co-worker's ear in front of me. Really??!? How old are you kid; or more like how deceptive can you be?!? Anyhow, Omar luckily came in and proceeded to cancel out my invoice and re-ring me appropriately, although time-consuming and not to mention beyond freezing in their waiting room, but it was taken care of... till I went back out the next day on Christmas for my 45-minute drive to Orland Park, when the red flashing coolant light came on. Figured screw it, I have to go, but stopped back home to load up my car w/my gifts, restarted the car, and the light, thank God, went off. But back on my way home, the red low-level coolant light once again came on, so I stopped my car and tried to re-start it, in the hopes the red light would once again go off, to no avail; again, two more times, and nothing worked, but luckily ended up making it home. Called up there today and spoke to a "Travis" about it, who couldn't comprehend what an oil change would have to do with my coolant warning light coming on, in which I, as the customer, explained to him, after looking online and seeing that they are supposed to in fact check my fluids, including the coolant, that that obviously wasn't checked and told him I would be bringing my car back up there, but ended up making a wiser decision and brought it to the location closer to me, on Madison Street, which I wanted to go to in the first place, but they were closing a few hours early on Christmas Eve. The guy up there right off the bat, when my car wasn't even pulled into the bay, asked me to pop open my hood so he could check it and realized it was just sludge coating the coolant container, and it was way below the minimum level inside. Thank God for that guy, and luckily didn't cost me a ton of money for damage due to my car due to the complete lack of intelligence over where I originally had gotten my oil change done and fluids were supposedly checked on Jackson and Harlem. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS, PEOPLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And whoever supposedly replies to these with their "please email me at "blank", and I have your ticket", etc., don't bother. I see you never follow up with anybody. read more

Excellent experience all around. Everyone was helpful and professional and explained everything to me in advance. I was not upsold or pressured to have added work done. I left with an oil change and a few new air filters that I didn't realize needed to be changed- wow, what a difference in air quality inside my car! Tires inflated, fluids topped off included. Came here to get my Transmission flushed & to see why my check engine light came on ! These dam fools reset my check engine light cleaned around the sensor lied & said they fixed my car & put a sensor on it ! Now my engine light is back on & im getting the same code they said they fixed on top of that my car just cut off on me all because they lied !! And I went back they told me they couldn't do anything because it wasn't A Machenic there and it was 6 ppl there never again y'all got young people whom don't know what they're doing ! & will do anything for a quick dollar !!! This business does not deserve much more of my time that what they've already sucked out of me, so I'll make this short... They claim that my car takes a special synthetic oil that costs nearly $90. I tell them, that's forget it, please give me my key back, I'll just go to the dealer. The guy says okay, but comes back without my key, explaining they've already started the oil change. At this point, I just couldn't believe that a business would try to scam a customer into paying for something they clearly said they didn't want. The shop manager came out, apologized and offered a discount on the oil change but it could never excuse the fact that this is an obvious business practice. I received a transmission flush in September 2014 from this particular Jiffy Lube. I was informed by a trusted mechanic that they did not properly conduct the job. The boat in the middle of the transmission pan was leaking and it shouldn't be and I needed what is called a new "washer". I was also informed by this mechanic that the oil filter service may have not been properly done. When I arrived at this Jiffy Lube, the manager, who's name I did not take down was very hostile towards me. He accused me of not knowing what I was talking about. He began asking how did I know about MY car. He was RELUCTANT to assist me with my issues and concerns and continued to berate me. He FINALLY decided to at least change out the washer. I called his general manager, Juan, who assured me that he would assist me the next day only to give me the run around. I am extremely unsatisfied with their customer service. They lacked professionalism on all levels. I will not be returning my vehicle to this Jiffy Lube or any others. I am now paranoid that I may not have any transmission fluid and may have been depleted of it all...which is quite possible since the manager was so angry and irate when he change out the washer. He barely wanted to help me. This place has been my worst experience at any car service establishment. read more

At first I was hesitant on coming here for my oil change because of some of the reviews, but I decided to give them a try. When I arrived Clifton greeted me with a friendly smile and asked what I needed. Told him an oil change. He walked me to the seating area and then proceeded to pull up car. Michael, Lucius, and Levi all worked on my car. They were all wonderful and friendly. My car was done within a half hour. Clifton explained everything to me. This Jiffy Lube is great for their 10-15 minute oil change. Very rarely have I had to wait longer than 15 minutes for my car's service; if I do, it's because my car is receiving other services as well. What I do like about this Jiffy Lube is the fact that if you've received 2-3 services from Jiffy Lube, you receive 50% off your next service. The only thing I hate about this Jiffy Lube is the fact that the waiting area is so small, it's to the point of feeling claustrophobic. It's better to receive your services after work during the week as opposed to on the weekends (when EVERYONE decides to get an oil change!). Jiffy Lube also offers new windshield wipers (they install them) and offer services such as installing new air filters, etc. I also like the fact that they wash your windows and vacuum your car prior to returning it to you. If you're in need of an oil change ASAP, this is definitely the place you need/want to go to. read more

My starter and battery decided to die out on me this morning. Called 6 different mechanics who all told me they can't even look at the car until Monday(today is Saturday). This store charges $74.99 for the same exact oil change I can get for $41.99 at the AWESOME North Aurora Jiffy Lube on Sullivan Road. After their employee called to confirm the price then they gave me a discount to bring the price down $41.99. Don't mind businesses making money, but that increase is ridiculous. Will not be back. Check area pricing before going to this Oak Park Jiffy Lube. I would have given them 1 star, but they did perform all the other services I requested correctly at this point, like the tire rotation, wiper blades. If I have have a problem with any of items in the next weeks, I will give an updated report. read more

Great service here. From start to finish. I was a bit down on JL for a while. saw the reviews & read reports on them cheating folks out. But, as any consumer, I thought I'd give them another chance. Their ads looked better and the place looked cleaned up. Went in to this spot and I was not disappointed. The technician that helped me was honest and didn't try to sell me anything extra that I didn't need. He explained the service recommendations for my car (and the cost) and then let me choose if I wanted any of those services. I never felt like he was trying to sell me anything extra. Turned out neither brakes needed replacing and that I had over 50% left on both sets of pads. Very dishonest and look to up-sell at every opportunity. Never again will go to see this lot. read more
