He was professional and respectful on the call, and I appreciate that they addressed my concerns quickly. While the price difference wasn't completely refunded, I'm satisfied with the response and their effort to resolve the issue. Overcharged and pressured for repairs I never requested I went to Mavis Tires & Brakes in Daphne, AL for a basic tire and oil service after being quoted $321 "out the door." When I picked up my vehicle, the bill was over $100 higher than the quote. Staff blamed a "call center mistake" but refused to honor the original price. They also printed a repair estimate for nearly $5,000 worth of additional work that I never asked for, claiming someone had "verbally authorized" it -- which was completely untrue. On top of that, parts of the job were incomplete when I got the vehicle back. They didn't put spare tire back under my vehicle like I asked and no oil change sticker was applied or updated. I've contacted Mavis corporate about the overcharge and false authorization, and I've filed a complaint with the Alabama Attorney General's Consumer Protection Division. Be careful here !! Then I had a leak somewhere in the system. Regardless, it took several visits over a 2 month period and it wasn't fixed. But each time they proudly stated it was. And when I say it wasn't fixed, it was not blowing cold air only somewhat cool air. And if it was hot outside, forget about it! I would have it on full blast for 20-30 minutes and the temp would not change. I gave up due to frustration. Last week, it was just too hot (South Alabama), so I took it back in to see what could be done since I had a warranty. I was told that although my repairs were under warranty, I would have to pay an additional diagnostic of $200 to look at it. I was flabbergasted to say the least. Never again.
