Extremely slow and they don't care about the customers time. They also take advantage of fleet management and perform work that isn't needed or claim they did when they haven't only because fleet management will pay. I had a great experience with the Fairfield Rd. JIffy Lube. The crew was very professional, more than I'd seen at other Jiffy Lube locations. The crew member who helped me suggested a few reasonable services in addition to what I requested, then gave me a generous discount that enabled me to accept a couple more services than I expected. The work was done faster than at other JIffy Lube locations. I was very pleased with the experience. I had stopped using Jiffy Lube because of previous bad experiences, but I was in a hurry today. This was a horrendous visit just to get my car registered and emissions done. I work Swingshift and I decided to get up early this morning and head to jiffy lube before I go to the gym get my grocery shopping done that I need before I head in to work when i got there I was told 30 minutes but instead it turned into 3 hrs of waiting and waiting, i ended up not getting anything done I initially planned and was almost late for work. It was a super disappointing visit to Jiffy Lube specifically for the reason getting told one time and it ended up being 6x that. I think it's this specific Jiffy Lube because any other jiffy lube I've never had an issue I just had to report this because this establishment is horrendous and the customer service seemed uninterested. What a joke. I arrived and was told 25 minutes for emissions and on the spot tax payment. In the waiting area another customer was super frustrated that he had been there for almost 2 hours waiting for something to be done. I should have left then. An hour later, with both of us still waiting, and incredibly frustrated, I glared out into the bay to see one guy working on my vehicle, the other three standing out in the back of shop laughing around someone's truck. When the one worker saw me, he told one of the other jokers to come in and talk to me. He did, and told me that the emissions tester was malfunctioning and they had to run the test again. No apology for the wait, nothing. I called off an appointment that I was then late for. Over 30 minutes later the one working tech came in and told me that the machine was still not working and that I would have to pay for the emissions test and then take it somewhere else. Why not tell me that 30 minutes into the experience rather than 90 minutes?!? DO NOT USE THIS JIFFY LUBE LOCATION! read more

Absolutely horrible experience! I took my truck to get a coolant flush, when they gave me my truck back the temperature was completely maxed out! He told me that it should fix itself once it cycles the fluid through and I knew this didn't sound right, but luckily I live just down the street. Once I got it home I let it cool down completely and opened the radiator. You couldn't see any fluid in the radiator. I physically saw my truck running in their shop for 45 minutes and I think there may not have been coolant in it that whole time. When I drained the coolant out of it there was only about a half gallon of coolant in the system and it looked 10x worse than when I brought it in! Now I am extremely nervous that my engine is going to fail at any time. Also, they told me it would take 10-15 minutes and it ended up being over an hour. read more

After asking if they still vacuum vehicles the manager came out and said well let's get that done for you and the Piss poor job that it was done. They tore a hole in my carpeted floor. So frustrating! Saturday morning early, there was one other customer waiting for their car, so it's not like they were busy. Two workers were standing at the back outside of the bay when I pulled up, smoking. I should have left right then. They took my car back immediately. After waiting 40 minutes with the one other customer in the waiting area, I asked one of two guys who were just sitting behind the counter, if it was going to be much longer. They seemed embarrassed and both got up and said they'd check and went out to the garage. I waited another 25 minutes. In the meantime, a new customer came in and stood for 5 minutes, waiting for someone to come in and help him. And he eventually just left. No one ever came back into give me an eta on my car. I went to this location for a simple oil change. When I left I noticed the strong smell of burning oil and smoke rising up from under my truck. I pulled over and checked under the hood. The passenger side of the engine was covered with oil, it was dripping from the starter, exhaust and suspension components. Even the ignition coil packs had oil on them. When I got home I checked the oil level and it was half a quart low. I paid over $100 dollars for this service and the technicians couldn't even fill the oil without dumping an extra quart all over one side of the engine. They can't even fill oil to the correct level. Told it's going to be a 25 minute wait for an oil change. I walk over to a nearby store. Come back 35 minutes later. Car is still sitting there. Ask how much longer it's going to be. "Oh, they should be pulling it right in... but... let me check. It should be 15 minutes." I'm smart enough to get clarification-- "15 until it's done?" "No, 15 till it's in the bay." There was no line before me, but somehow wait time was grossly underestimated, or maybe he knew I wouldn't wait for an hour. The service was prompt, but I hate the process they have for going through their other services. It's all based on what the manufacturer recommends which is fine, but they position the services as if they've never been done on your vehicle before. Also, if you have guest wifi you should post the password in the waiting area. Every other Jiffy Lube location I have been to has been phenomenal and so helpful but this specific location was horrible (236 N Fairfield Rd Layton, UT )!! I pulled in with no other cars waiting or being worked on and I could see the workers inside not noticing I was waiting. I had to wait at least 5 minutes before someone noticed to come out and help me. They were young guys and they seemed like they had no idea what they were doing. I was kind of wary so I watched them pull in my car through the inside window and they were jerkily stopping my car trying to be funny for each other! I was so upset because they were not safely pulling my car onto whatever contraption they need to put it on and were showing no care or concern. There was also another worker in the office that didn't even acknowledge I walked in. All I needed was an oil change and they asked me multiple times what oil I wanted and seemed confused and unsure of what they were doing. After getting it done it also seemed like my car had a weird noise.. so now I have to get it checked somewhere else to make sure nothing is wrong. So so disappointed with this location. read more

I came in at about 8:30 in the morning and was told I needed an air sensor. I was told it could be ordered and I could come back at noon to get it installed. I told them to do it. I came back at noon and waited for over an hour, (which I was fine with). A younger man brought my car into a bay and had it in there about 20 minutes. He pulled it around and told me he tried to change the air sensor and got yelled at. He said I would need to come back when there was someone else there that could change it out. I got in my car and then noticed another warning light on. I went back in and the same young man came out to check it. He told me he had to speak to someone else. The manager (I think) then came out. He told me he didn't know what that light meant and that I would have to take my car to a dealership. I was then getting angry. I said you told me to come back at noon to get the sensor changed, then he took my car back and fiddled under the hood for twenty minutes and now another light is on and you are sending me to a dealership? He then said that he didn't tell me to yell at him, which I wasn't doing, and that today was his last day and he didn't care and that I needed to leave. When I pulled out of the parking lot my car lost all power. I coasted into Lynn Wood Auto and am now waiting to find out what is wrong with my car. I WILL be coming to Jiffy Lube for repair reimbursement and I will tell everyone I know to never go to Jiffy Lube. read more

When into this Jiffy Lube location in Layton Utah for an E missions test. They pulled my cabin air filter and destroyed it beyond use and wanted to charge me $40 to replace it. I will never go to store again they try to rip people off by destroying perfectly fine product when removing it. They also didn't seem to be at fault and would not replace it at no charge. I took my car in for an emissions test. It would not pass due to a service engine soon light. They diagnosed the problem with a code reader and told me I needed a new O2 sensor but it would need to be ordered. I was told it would take less than an hour to replace and I could return the next day at 8am and they would have the part. I showed up and they started on the fix. About 25 minutes in they told me they part hadn't shown up yet. A few minutes later they told me that "O'Reilly" sent the wrong part and they sent someone to Kaysville to get the right one. THREE hours later they told me it was fixed but they still had a wrong part and had to splice the wires. After driving about 10 miles the SES light came back on. I looked at the "splice" job they did and it was just held together by tape. Furthermore I had another company run the diagnostic and found that it was never the O2 sensor, but it needs a different sensor replaced. Needless to say, I want my money back, but of course they won't even answer the phone! read more

I have gone to this JL location for 6+ years now and the first 5+ years were AWESOME!! BUT not too long ago the management got changed and even though I've never met anyone in management it is AMAZING how much it affects the whole shop! The last two times I've gone there I've been treated like I'm a burden and not wanted, (all I've ever gotten there is oil changes and Safety and Imm.) so I know nothing I've needed done was actually a burden. The employees are rude and SLOW! One guy was on a cell phone the entire 95 minutes I was there (for an oil change!) and the guy in the waiting room by me said he had been there for 2 hours before his oil change was done!!! I experienced great customer service at this location upon my initial visit for an oil change. I understand that by providing all the small checks and services in addition to an oil change, that Jiffy Lube is able to be competitive, but if it distracts from performing quality service for the reason your customers come in, maybe you should rethink the business strategy. Unfortunately, the mechanics forgot to connect the cover back on the underside of the oil filter so a couple of days later it slipped loose and was dragging under my car. I don't own a jack anymore, so I was not able to fix this issue myself. Due to scheduling conflicts, I couldn't get in immediately to have Jiffy Lube fix the issue. My family had to go down to one vehicle for a couple of days which was frustrating. In the end, I took the vehicle back to the same Jiffy Lube location in hopes that they would fix the problem and offer some form of a rebate on the services for which I had paid. The shop fixed the cover problem without any question, but the manager on staff told me there was nothing they could do. The manager offered me a small discount on my next visit (which is something anyone could find with a quick web search for a promo code). If this is the best that you can do, I think I will take my business elsewhere. This is the second time that something like this happened, but the other was at a different Jiffy Lube location, so I won't post that here. Some form of quality assurance check may limit experiences such as mine. In conclusion, I understand that mistakes happen, and I am known to be very forgiving. With a slightly bigger attempt to repair this mistake (a rebate on services for example), I would definitely be willing to change this review. Until then, buyer beware. read more

Took my truck here for safety inspection and smog check. They mis-diagnosed a worn idler arm, it was worn tie rod ends. Past experience with repairs done here were poor so I went to another mechanic who quickly fixed the problem. I'm done with these guys. read more

We had the tires rotated & oil changed on our Ford 150. They were speedy & very kind. In fact, they upgraded our coupon from a $5 off to the $10 off. We actually had a little problem w/ them forgetting to place a fastener back on the skid plate (which has to be removed for the oil to be changed). I was upset but did not call or go back to the facility because I thought they would fight with me about it--I was so wrong! I answered an e-mail/customer survey from Jiffy Lube the the regional manager contacted me and sent me a check. I am amazed that they were sooooo quick about making it right. He assured me that they would do training on the fasteners (they have to be twisted in a particular way or they fall off & the skid plate will fall off or drag). I can't say enough about the fact that I had a check in hand (no questions asked) w/in a week. They were kind about it & apologetic. I seriously felt bad because of how kind the gentleman were at the station on my first visit. Put it this was they never completed my phone ervice and was really not responsive to any questions.. They did my emmisions but failed to give me my sticker. They assigned a sticker to my plate and didnt have the year sticker apparently the guy said he was missing 5 or 6 that must have been stolen.. So i have a sticker out there stolen from jiffy lube the rude people with ni answer. So my names on a sticker possibly on a stolen car.. And they would not refund my money they refused to help me fix there crappy service.. They guaranteed me that they could do this simple job obviously they cant even emmision a car. Fact is they should loose there right to have those DMV stickers cause they are being stolen or sold by an inside job.. I really don't like the obligatory yearly visit to get my safety and emissions inspections so I can get my car registered. Combine that with necessary service--oil change etc., and the anxiety rises. Today, I found that I also needed my rear brakes entirely overhauled. This Layton jiffy-lube crew has bent over backwards to keep my cost reasonable. They answered my questions and didn't make me feel dumb. I am impressed with how invested they are in my outcome, my satisfaction, and with how clear and communicative they have been. I will be back. They were so busy today, but they were on the spot with everyone who came in even though they had to go pick up parts for my repair. I only take my car here for the on the spot registration. Don't EVER have them do anything to your car. The last time they did an oil change (which should be their specialty), was when I had the car inspected. They found something to be fixed so I took it to Egan. They fixed the issue but they called me prior to the repair and asked, "did you just have an oil change?" I said yes and then they asked who did it. I said Jiffy Lube and they said there was oil everywhere. He said if it was his car he would be ticked. I paid another 40-50$ to have them clean the engine. When mentioning it to Jiffy Lube I was given the run around like I didn't know what I was talking about. I will never trust ANY Jiffy Lube in the future and would recommend that nobody does. NOVEMBER 18th, 2014 -- Heading out on a family trip to Moab, was running behind. Usually change oil myself, but I didn't have time. Dropped my SUV off at Jiffy Lube for an oil/filter change. Got on the freeway (less than 3 miles from the JL), lost my gauges and blinkers. Car was running a bit rough under load, replaced a blown fuse, and drove another block or two before all electronics went crazy and car was stumbling. Pulled over, took off the skid plate, and I found my wire loom that runs near the oil filter shredded, the two anchor points forward and forward left of the filter broken. Those broken points allowed the loom to come into contact with the cooling fan, bisecting the loom. I spent the next two hours re-wiring. We continued, SUV started to buck, blow black smoke out the tailpipe. I pulled off, let the car sit for 20 minutes to cool down. I checked my oil, WAY over the fill line. I let it cool more, check again, drain, check again. I'm right at the fill mark. They overfilled by nearly 1.5 quarts. Trip after that was uneventful, if a little rough - my car was running poorly at high RPMs, and eating gas. Freeway grades took patience. Went back to Jiffy Lube after we returned, spoke with an Assistant Manager. He seemed sympathetic. He then proceeded to tell me that "they double check the oil when they fill it," and wouldn't accept that they overfilled it. He took down my information, and told me he'd have his Manager call me. The call never came. NOVEMBER 25th, 2014 -- Posted review to Google, Regional Manager Sterling Hendrick contacted me that day about "getting me taken care of." Played phone tag, set up a meeting for 11/21/2014. Agreed to meet at the location where my oil was changed about 1pm, I was to call him when I left work. I did so, and pulled into the location at 1:15pm. He called to say he was running behind, his managers at the location would take care of me until he got there. They looked my SUV over, asked for my experience. I told it to them; they said that we would wait for Sterling. Waited for about 25 minutes more (full 30 minutes from when I'd shown up), Sterling finally called, said he'd been detained but was leaving soon, would call me when he left. Decided to go home, we live nearby, to wait for him. I waited for two hours. Yes, TWO HOURS. No call, no text. Decided to go back to work, had to finish my shift. I left him a message. On my drive back, he called and asked if I was still around. No. He then told me a horror story about a different Jiffy Lube location where the oil filter had fallen off the vehicle. Way to instill trust in a company. He asked if I could meet him in Salt Lake the following day, told him that the vehicle was running poorly, would need to come to me. Decided to meet the following week. Met 11/24/2014. He looked over the car, checked the oil (which I'd already fixed) and then we went down under to look at loom. I explained where the loom had run, how I felt they caused it, he seemed unconvinced. I explained again, how it had happened on that day... and in the middle of this he gets a phone call from another irate customer. Rather than call them back, he proceeds to take the call. For 12 minutes I stood around, waiting for him to finish. The tech assisting me finally asked ME if I should put the car back together. I told him yes, and went upstairs to the bay to wait. Sterling finally came up and said that he didn't see how they could have caused it, but would "take my word" that they overfilled my oil and offered to refund my money for the oil change. You don't have to take my word, I have pictures. DECEMBER 5th, 2014 and JANUARY 8th, 2015 Still didn't have a car that wasn't functioning, DID NOT take the refund, contacted Jiffy Lube Customer Service. They agreed more could be done. With approval, I took it in to Egan Automotive in Kaysville. After extensive troubleshooting, determined that the cause was the wire loom that had been bisected. Egan agreed that the likely cause was the oil change, due to proximity of the loom and the timing of it all. I called Ben/Sterling. Sterling wanted to verify, see vehicle. Sterling called me after seeing it and asked me "if I had my radiator recently replaced." I told him no, and he said "well, you're missing the lower shroud, so that's why your wires got shredded, they were free to get pulled into the fan. I don't feel, again, that we had any involvement." I've owned/driven the vehicle for 4 years. Clearly it doesn't matter that the loom (I change my oil myself, remember) has never been loose or free to get eaten by the fan. Odd that not 3 miles after they changed my oil it started to run poorly and die. While I respect that they're doing their jobs, during the whole process I've felt like Management was dismissive of me, the customer. Not hard to call back, keep appointments, and pay attention to customer in front of you. Never going back. read more

I got an A/C recharge and spent a lot on that, my A/C completely stopped working after and so I took it to the dealership and found out I had almost zero freon which they supposedly put it in, there is no leak or problem. I called before hand and got the price of $44.95 for an oil change. I sent my son and niece in there with a $5 coupon. Next thing I know the total is almost $60, even after my son told me how much he had to tell them no thank you for all the extras they tried to sell him. I called in and they told me that the first price was for five quarts and my car needed seven, so instead of $40 I was paying almost $60. I'm pissed off - talk about trying to con! In the over seven years I have owned this car I have NEVER been charged more like this and will never go to Jiffy Lube again! My word, get some ethics going please. At the very least inform people before hand you are going to charge for breathing in the waiting room. Thank goodness we don't drink coffee, who knows what THAT would have been. I also just found out they did NOT vacuum or wash the windows like they said and like my son and niece asked about. Their complimentary service didn't pan out there, either.
