My review is not for oil changes, I take my car to the Lexus dealership for that. Usually when I come here it is to get my wipers changed or to replace a burned out light bulb. Service has always been quick and the staff pleasant. For small repairs like this, the price is definitely better than what I would pay at the dealership. They have coffee while you wait, but I have never been there long enough to partake of it, so I can't speak to the quality. But I like that this location gets me in and out without me spending a lot of money. read more

A speciality sign in front of this oil joint that reads: "Live, Laugh, Lube" Nothing more. And dare I ask, do we really *need* anything more? I think not. We live, we laugh, and we lube. I've brought my car here a couple times for routine oil changes and have enjoyed my experience. I appreciate that I don't need to make an appointment and the location isn't often too busy that I can't be seen right away. The staff is always very friendly and show you to the waiting room. The company offers good coupons that are easy to apply to your service fees. I always appreciate how thorough they are when they check your car so they catch other things that need addressing before they become an issue. They also don't try to oversell you on services you don't need. This most recent visit, my car needed more servicing than usual. I appreciated that one of the mechanics went through everything that I needed done thoroughly, explaining the benefits of the service (including bringing out my filthy air and engine filters!). While I ended up skipping getting my transmission fluid replaced, having an oil change, new filters, replaced brake fluid, and a battery cleaning plus a coupon was far less than it would be other places. I will happily continue to patronize this location as long as I live nearby. read more

After the oil change, the check engine light came on and when I brought it back for them to check they googled what might have gone wrong with it and read me the google search off of their phone. I used to bring my SUV here on the regular for oil changes. I will not be visiting this location anymore. I brought it in and they let me know that something with the pan was damaged during my last oil change and it would be a couple of hundred dollars to replace the pan. They did not bother to check their records, as they were the last one to do the oil change. When I told them that they did my last oil change I was told that I would have to pay for the replacement part, but that I would not be charged labor or anything. So a week later I take it in to be fixed only to be quoted a couple of hundred dollars for the work. Again, I needed to let them know I already spoke to an employee and that they would be replacing the part with no labor charges and that I would only be paying for the part. Not sure why I had to pay for the part since it needed to be replaced because of their negligence but at this point wanted to cut my losses and get our of their before they could mess anything else up. read more

This location used to be my only go-to place when I was living in Edgewater a few years ago. However this time, I definitely should've read reviews here before going back there for oil change. 1. One of the staff members came out to notify me the price of the oil change. At the same time, he kept on pushing other services with the fact that I already told them that oil change was the only service I needed that day. Also, the way he did it was kind of mistaking me to be a foreigner and rookie on the road and trying to take advantage of that. It surely made me feel uncomfortable since I've been living abroad and driving here for about fifteen years. 2. After the visit, my screen sensor seemed to be acting up: it stopped changing in between "daylight mode" and "night mode" automatically. It took me some time to find out that's because my headlight setting was changed from "auto" to "off," which I would never set that way myself. Not to be too dramatic, but that little thing did get me thinking maybe I did need some deeper checkup when in this Jiffylube location. I'm not 100% sure whether the staff there did that. But if they did, I guess that's how they get you back there? 3. The oil change there perhaps took the shortest time ever: less than 15 minutes, while even on jiffylube.com it says typical oil change time would be 20-45 minutes. That got me a little concerned but I thought maybe because they were not busy and fully staffed when I came in, until yesterday I was on my semi-yearly road trip to Tennessee. Occasionally, the gas pedal appeared to be harder to push and the car started to feel heavier to operate, which again, never had happened during my one and half years driving it and before the visit to this location. $80+ oil change for an suv in this location is relatively cheaper, yet it doesn't seem to be worth the visit to me now. To avoid possible additional trouble, I decided to go to other places for vehicle services in future. read more

If you do, there is a higher chance that you will have a while crew who will work on your car. Really disappointed with the service we received here. My wife took our car to get out last oil change at this location and everything was fine, nothing was mentioned to us about bolts being stripped or any issues that we should be on the lookout for. I went in to get an oil change at my usual place and they let me know that they wouldn't be able to remove the oil plug because it was been stripped by the last person. He suggested we go back to JL and see if they could undo their error. We did, I spoke to 3 different people and finally spoke with Adam. His attitude from the beginning of our interaction was standoffish and not welcoming. They pulled our car into the bay and kept it for a full 20 minutes before pulling us in and shifting the blame over to someone else. I get, mistakes happen and I was just really disappointed that there was no accountability at this point (or when it originally happened) or anything done to help rectify this situation at all. I have a hard time thinking this would've been the situation if I had shown up with a man instead of my wife. When asked who I could escalate this to, Adam let us know that all complaints go back to him. So if that is the case, that seems like an odd way to handle customer concerns. At this point, we're looking at a $400 unexpected repair when originally I just needed an oil change. If you're ready to have your car destroyed, come here. This week I went in for the oil change. I drive company car so I don't skimp on the service. I got synthetic for $109. My car has only 13k on it. They did their typical sales pitch.. Engine air filter, then the cabin filter.. At a bargain price of $70.. No thank you, I said. I left the place, it was warm so my heater was at the minimum. Over the past two days it's been freezing, so I cranked up the heat fan but it wasn't really "there", plus my legs were cold and I could feel cool air coming from somewhere. So.. I pop the panel for cabin filter, parts start falling out. It was, at first, the plastic filter housing door. Both clips holding it to the housing are broken. Filter housing itself? The latch holding the door? Broken. Then I looked inside the housing itself as I saw something resembling crumpled piece of paper. Cabin filter was literally shoved in there by force, all kinked (looks like they used the screwdriver to push it in) and since the housing door was no longer latching on, that's where the cold air was blowing through. I just called them and a guy who said he's the manager told me to come in so that they can "examine" the car. I'm going there tomorrow to see how they expect to fix this and what their "examination" will reveal. DEFINITELY NOT A LOCATION I'LL BE Going BACK TO IN THE FUTURE (Or if I will, I'm literally going to make them go through EVERYTHING they did step by step and show me how it's all finalized). Now I'll have to go through the dealer to fix the part as there's no other way to keep that filter door attached. read more

10/10/23 Bought car for oil change and air filter replacement. Anticipated overcharges but not to the level I was charged. For my vehicle air filters cost from $12.00 to $17.00 at the auto parts store and I had to pay $49.99, not counting labor for a total charge of $109.98 for oil and alleged services tax excluded. I few days later we discovered bakelite hood release pull was broken. I brushed that off and replaced it myself. On 1/4/24 took vehicle to a legitimate auto repair facility for a tire problem and discovery was made that the engine oil was approximately three quarts over filled. Now how did that happen? Obviously, the Jiffy shop forgot to drain the old oil before adding "replacement". Bringing your vehicle to this place you are likely to experience overcharges for poor service and who knows what consequences can occur to vehicle and general safety. read more

The old oil change stickers was left on the foot of the driver side, an employees dirty mask left on the ground on the passenger side, and papers from my glove compartment were also thrown on the ground on the passenger side. so I asked manager how is the consumers supposed to know what quality of oil they are pumping into our engine since there are numerous price differences in quality of oils. the oil pump area does not specify the quality of oil being used and all manager said we just have to trust them. Every retail store in the city of Chicago has to have a list not just the price but the product. And this case the consumer should know what's coming out of each house don't you think? it is quite easy for them to sell you high quality synthetic oil worth almost $100 and give you the mid grade of the low grade. This has been reported happening in numerous other oil change locations.. They obviously didn't want to answer my question and we're quite rude. I will never go back to this Jiffy Lube again and I will report this to the city of Chicago consumer Department. Managers evasive and said you just have to trust us and I don't want to have this conversation with you right now he was rude and unfriendly. read more

I have always had pretty good experiences at this Jiffy Lube. I will say that this time that I've visited the workers were a lot more personable than usual. They are very polite friendly and have a smile on their face. My car was in an out with the service that I went in there for with in 20 minutes. And all in all I think it's a good place to go when you just need an oil change. Quick hand, you should always pull up a free coupon through the Internet Whenever you go there. They honor it on the spot and you just have to show them the barcode. It'll save you about seven or eight dollars. read more

I did not have the best experience today at this Jiffy lube location in Andersonville. I came in for a simple (conventional) oil change and tire rotation. However, when I checked out, the manger tried to charge me $225. When I asked what I was being charged for, he failed to mention he was charging me to change my head lights, for a full synthetic oil change, and failed to apply the coupon I showed upon arrival and before check out. Needless to say they finally applied the coupon and removed the charge for the head lights but still charged me for the more expensive oil change I did not request. I would recommend not taking your car to this location, and if you do you better watch them repair your car and check the receipt twice. read more

Very disappointing experience today. They couldn't perform the basic function of their business of changing my oil and then they lied to me about the cost of other service until I was checking out. Went there for an oil change. They brought out my air filter which was filthy and asked if I wanted it changed, I asked the price, and they said $39.99 which I confirmed, and said it was OK to change. Then they came back out said they couldn't change my oil because they didn't have the right tool to unscrew the cap, which is odd because this was the location I went to for my last oil change and it seems pretty basic of a need. No help was offered more than "you have to go somewhere else". Then went to check out and he said the filter cost $60! I told him that his guy from the floor said it was $39.99 but he just responded with "It's $60". No offer to check with the guy or anything. No confidence for this place anymore. They determined that there wasn't a leak so I could move forward with their A/C Evacuation and Recharge Service. 45 minutes later, I was driving a car with legit COLD air blowing through the vents... ah, heaven! Would my mechanic have been cheaper? Maybe. But, when you need a relatively simple service done quickly, Jiffy Lube delivers. Went to this location for a simple vehicle inspection for rideshare driving. The following is a point by point description of the f*ckery they tried on me. * 1st, the tech greeted me by saying, not, "hello, my name is _______," instead he barked, "what are you doing?" I told him I needed an inspection to which he replied, "where's your paper?" Because I'm a reasonably perceptive human being, I deciphered that he was referring to the vehicle inspection form. I replied, I didn't know I needed one. To which he replied, "go inside, I gotta move your car." We were off to a great start. * The dude that appeared to be loosely in charge tried to print out the inspection form (which they of course had on file). He failed. He called in another tech to help troubleshoot. That tech - seemingly his 2nd in-command, both in work and teeth - alas, couldn't figure it out either. There was a customer-facing monitor, so I was able to watch all of this unfold. It appeared they had the wrong printer selected (the classic "Microsoft XPS" mixup). When I politely suggested they check to see if the right printer had been selected, the lieutenant of the pair, stopped, looked at his boss, took a beat with impeccable comic timing, and exclaimed, "who the fuck is this guy?" Long story short, they had the wrong printer selected. But managed, despite their best efforts, to resolve the issue and print the form. * After about 15 minutes of waiting the "boss" called me out of the waiting room to tell me that I needed new brakes. I replied, "I had my brakes redone less than six months ago." To which he says, "I can't pass your car with your brakes sounding like that." My brakes made no sound. I took one last stab at reasoning with the guy and asked him if he'd like to see my itemized receipt from the Toyota service center (I drive a Prius) where I got those brakes redone. He chose to stonewall me, and said, "I don't need to see no receipt. I can't pass your car unless you get new brakes." I told this man to go [enjoy] himself, and left. The Uber greenlight hub inspected my vehicle an hour later. It passed inspection. Don't take your care here. read more

This is by far the most horrific customer service experience I have ever encountered. Let me start by saying I have been getting my oil changed here in and off since 2004 and unfortunately haven't been here as often since I move out of the neighborhood in 2013. I went in this afternoon around 4:30 to get the oil changed in my Pathfinder. Based on the technicians recommendation I went with an upgraded oil blend and also had the antifreeze filled which came to a total $69 and some odd cents. When I went to the cashier to pay the credit card terminal was asking for my debit card PIN number. I politely asked if I should press enter or hit cancel to run it as credit. The cashier told me I had to enter my pin. I politely explained that I wasn't comfortable with entering my pin and that I preferred it be processed as credit. He then said that due to high fraud issues the shop policy was that I had to process it as debit and enter my pin. I again expressed my concern and asked to speak to the manager. I was then told that the manager was too busy to be bothered with something like this and I had to provide another form of payment. I politely stated that I wanted to speak to the manager and that I was more than happy to sit down and wait until they were available and I said to please help the guest behind me and I sat down. The cashier then picked up the phone and called the police and said that he had a customer who was refusing to it for the oil change after they had completed it. I let him help the customer behind me and went ahead and paid the bill with my cash back rewards credit card which did not require me to enter a PIN number. I asked for the managers contact information since I was very unhappy with my experience and was given a business card with an email and no phone number. I also asked the cashier for his name so that I could reference the individual that provided me with such horrible service and he said his name wasn't important and walked out and left me in the lobby by myself. I gave two stars only because the technicians were prompt and expeditious in my oil change. Again I have been coming here for years without any problem and I'm hoping I can continue to come here. I have since sent an email to the owner explaining my experience and am waiting for a response. I will update my review as soon as I hear back from him. Update 8-3-18 My yelp review has received a comment from Jiffy Lube asking me to email them to discuss further. Which as my review states has already been done. As of today at 6:33 pm I still have not received a reply to my email. Came in for an oil change and asked to also put air in my tires. They did not put air in my tires. I drove around the block, twice, to forestall a 'sensor issue'. My tires were still low, so I returned to Jiffy Lube and told them. They argued with me. I paid over 100 dollars for these people to service my vehicle and I have no confidence they actually did any work, as they couldn't even put air in my tire. I got change at the gas station across the street and put air in myself, and guess what? Tire pressure light turned off. Just like it would have if they actually did their jobs. read more
