This past Wednesday I met up with a buddy and we wanted to try a new restaurant. We saw the pictures of this place online and thought it looked like a nice place that would probably have good food. I ordered the general's chicken with fried rice and an egg roll. Me being the typical fatty I also ordered a sushi roll on the side. The egg roll was delicious... slightly confused by the yellow sauce it was served with. It tasted like horseradish. Egg roll was delicious though! General's chicken was very tasty the fried rice was okay. The sushi was perfect. However, while I was enjoying my meal I was going in for another bite of rice I saw something on my plate and asked my friend to verify that I was staring at a bug. I informed the waitress of the bug that I found in my food and made sure that it was away from the rice so she could definitely tell that it was a bug and not a piece of rice. The waitress was extremely apologetic and took the plate to show her boss. After a couple minutes the boss came to our table and said, "sorry about that...it's from the broccoli". Then she asked if I wanted a fresh meal and I declined because I really had no intentions on eating anymore as my appetite was completely gone. My poor friend also lost his appetite.. I don't blame him. Every bite was being inspected and that's just not the way to enjoy a meal. The waitress returned and gave me a ticket and said that her boss put a discount on the bill. I looked and saw that my experience and loss of appetite was worth exactly $3.48. I told the owner that I was not okay with how any of it was handled and that I didn't feel that it was right to offer me a discount and that I shouldn't have to pay for any of it. I never complain about food or service really and this time I couldn't hold it back. I felt like I was given an attitude because I found the bug. Customer service should outweigh the loss of a small amount ofoney. Additionally, it's not even about getting the meal for free it's about doing what is right. I wish I could pay money to take that experience back. I can't. So a little gesture of kindness could have changed everything. In the end. She removed the general's chicken meal but made sure that I knew I'd have to pay for anything else. I'm not a restaurant owner but I would have been genuinely apologetic instead of blaming the broccoli and I would have expressed that it's now how things are run in my restaurant. I would have said you owe us nothing. We apologize and we hope you'll give us another chance and come back. That would have changed everything about how I felt leaving there. I ordered honey chicken and it came out as sweet and sour chicken. I advised the staff, and they stated that was their RED honey sauce (the menu should state RED honey chicken). I told them I didn't want it. They could not have been more visibly annoyed. I also asked for wonton egg drop soup mixed and was advised they don't do that. she finally said I'll give you wonton soup and put a tiny bit of egg drop. That is ridiculous, and could have been Very easy to do. The fried rice is very plain/bland, no onion or egg. Just plain white rice with just enough soy sauce to color it and what ever meat you ask for. See picture for what every internet search for honey chicken should look like. This is my new go to place for take out. Although it is a sushi and, Japanese place, they do have Pad Thai. My partners favorite thing. He said the noodles were perfect but that it was pretty dry and lacked flavor.with that being said, texture is a big thing for us so next time I will order it with extra sauce. I ordered sushi and it was pretty good, not as good as Sakura but good. I will be back for sure, it's in my way home and I'll be trying new things.service was friendly and helpful. We were traveling through Tennessee and made an over night stop Jackson. We saw this restaurant across the street from our hotel and asked about it. The gentleman working at the hotel said it was great and boy was he right! First off the service is extremely warm and professional. We were seated promptly and our drink order was taken. (They only serve beer. No wine or mixed drinks.) Our server was on top of every thing. The restaurant itself is vey clean and well kept. The atmosphere is good. They have a VERY large menu. Half of it is Chinese food the other half was Japanese. All combination plates come with chicken fried rice and an egg roll. I had the combination plate Mongolian beef. My son had Lo Mien and Beef Sticks (two thumbs way up on the beef sticks) and my boyfriend had chicken and vegetables. Everything tasted extremely well seasoned and of great quality. What is also impressive is the very very lows prices. I don't know how they make money. This restaurant is worth the quick detour if you are traveling through and if you live there it should be a regular visit. read more

The food was awful. The pad thai had no flavor to speak of. The chicken in chicken with cashews was tough. The wonton soup was salty with 2 tiny wontons. The sushi was acceptable. Avoid the ladies room at all cost. The smell of raw sewer was over powering. Our family will not be back. read more

I wanted to like this place, because the girls who were at the counter were so friendly and sweet, and it had great reviews on Yelp. We ordered take-out. While waiting for the food, I perused the condiments on the table by the door. Corn syrup, artificial colors and flavors, and the "soy" sauce doesn't have soy as an ingredient. Our order was prepared correctly, and we took it back to our hotel, stopping at Kroger on the way to pick up some better-quality sauces for the egg-rolls and sushi. I had two egg rolls and some garlic broccoli with steamed rice. The dish was listed as spicy on the menu, but it was very mild. The food tasted pretty good, but while eating it, I started to feel queasy and didn't eat much of the broccoli. My son had the seaweed salad, which, strangely, was served on top of iceberg lettuce. It tasted okay. He also had a California sushi roll, which also was fine but not great. A little while later, he felt very ill. I don't think there was anything "wrong" with the food, we're just used to eating more natural ingredients, so this food didn't feel good in our bodies. read more

This place is kind of brutal. Got general chicken with fried rice and wonton soup to go. General chicken was just drenched in sauce and the chicken was rubbery... had this weird taste that didn't taste like general sauce. The fried rice was okay and didn't really taste like fried rice. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and the house special fried rice (chicken, pork and shrimp). The spicy tuna roll had little spice. It just tasted like a plain tuna roll. The fried rice was yellow rice, with no flavor. No soy sauce cooked in. It tasted like plain rice with some partially cooked and flavorless meat. It was a very generous portion of rice and meat. I ordered an extra sauce that was not charged to my ticket by their online order system. It's not my fault your system has a flaw. BUT REALLY??? 54 CENTS??? I called and ordered my food at 7:25 pm and i live 2.2 miles from the restaurant at 9:00 pm i called them back to ask were is my food at they said it's on the way later the driver called and said he was outside my house i opened the door and no one was outside he said he was outside i told him he was outside then he said that he was at the wrong address and it was going to be 15 minutes before he bring my food i was so frustrated i told him to cancel i no longer wanted it and I hung up the phone he called me back fussing and saying other rude stuff this was unprofessional and very very crazy i will never ever call them again and I will not advise anyone to do business with them. read more

Stopped by this place on a drive from Memphis to nashville and found this place through yelp. Very clean, tasteful decorations and the sushi was delicious!! We took advantage of the summer special and got two $10 rolls for $15. I wish I had taken pictures but the presentation was beautiful--if you're unsure of what to get, we got the tony roll and the black dragon. The servers were also very friendly and nice. Like the title of this restaurant, the staff are exceptional and the food is an Asian treat. Enjoyed the choices in Chinese and Japanese. I've not eaten in the restaurant. I order take-out; but there is no change in how delicious the food is. They even have a Thai menu. Their Pad Thai is very tasty. I've got great things and one extremely negative thing to say about this place. Service, and friendliness is top notch. Food is very good as well. I recommend either the Mexico roll or Singapore style mai fun. Prices are on par as well. Now to the negative: we ordered to go food from here one night, took it home and promptly ate it. 7-8 hrs later let's just say my wife and I were fighting over the master bath. We made it through the night but were both treated for dehydration and food poisoning the next day. It's funny how bosses respond when you call in saying that you have food poisoning. Anyways, somehow ambulance chasers (aka lawyers) called us repeatedly wanting to represent us. I declined. Mistakes happen. I know. I'm not like that. This restaurant is 4.9 miles away from where we are staying and our food arrived an hour and a half after we ordered, cold. The food and service here are always excellent. Extremely fresh and delicious sushi. The Godzilla roll or the crunchy spicy snow crab roll is my favorite. They have both a Japanese and Chinese menu so there's something here that will suit everyone. I have only had the beef and broccoli and Szechuan chicken from the Chinese menu but both of them were very good. I always call ahead and within 5 or 10 minutes my order is ready to be picked up. I wish I could have given a lower rating on this one than 1 Star. The food is normally good, the service normally good and haven't had a complaint about them before. However that all changed today and they have lost my business for good. We ordered quite a lot of food for delivery and had the majority of it get ruined because they failed to put a lid on an item securely and it leaked all over all of the other food and into the bag. I spoke to a lady on the phone who only would replace the one item that had the lid placed on it incorrectly. The manager was not in but called me back later. After explaining to him what happened, repeatedly, and explaining to him that I have small children and that after being told by the lady that she would only replace the one item and not everything, they went ahead and ate their food because it was either that or not eat due to the poor service. The manger insisted I bring the food back and he would give me a refund. I had to re-explain again to him and finally just asked for a partial refund as a discount for our trouble. He said no. He has lost my business. There are lots of places in town to get food from and now with Waitr and other services available, we are not limited to ordering food from just a few places any longer. We travel all over NA for our jobs. My boss, a counterpart, and I stopped in at Jiang Jun in Jackson due to the reviews. We had tried Sakura (very good) before, but decided to give Jiang Jun a shot. AWESOME! We had 4 different rolls including peppered tuna, smoked salmon, etc, but the Godzilla roll was amazing! Hands down the best roll we've tried in quite some time, if not ever. When the excellent waitress returned to check on us, we doubled the order +2 more rolls. We left stuffed and satisfied. If you want great service/great sushi in land-locked Jackson TN, Jiang Jun should be your first choice. Fresh, fast, and flavorful. We three pigs gourged for less than $70 total.
