Where do I even start? I hardly ever write reviews but I just had to give this place a glowing review after our experience!! I took my daughter out for her bday on 8/19/2023 and for a Saturday, I expected way more ppl, but it was around 4pm when we got there. A few customers came in a little later, but nothing too crazy. As amazing as this restaurant is, I'm seriously shocked that more ppl don't go here. We started with the TNT Shrimp that wasn't terribly spicy, but were so good we almost ordered more. I had the Thriller Roll & my daughter had the VIP roll. Mine was mouthwatering and hers was also excellent! Let me just say this was the first time I've ever ordered sushi from anywhere because I was under the assumption that all sushi was raw lol! But nope, my roll was fried and it was so delicious I want us to go back like next weekend (2nd wknd of Sept). Atmosphere: 10/10 -- My fiancé is an entertainer/musician and I kept telling him that he would've LOVED this place & I sent him pics lol! The music wasn't too loud or distracting, very enjoyable. Food: 10/10 -- I cannot brag enough on how the food tasted, and the presentation?! It looked like it was prepared by an actual chef. These ppl KNOW how to please their customers, no doubt about it. Service: 9/10 -- Our server was very sweet, but could've been a TAD more attentive to us. It's all good tho! Price: 9/10 A little higher than what I normally spend on a daily meal, but the prices imo were so reasonable that I was astonished. Our final total was $60.10 for 3 people, so I gave our sweet server a $20 tip since I could afford to. I know that doesn't sound like much for 3 ppl, but 15% of $60 is $9!' Lastly, my daughter was able to receive her dessert for FREE since it was her bday. How awesome is that? Don't wait, go try it now!!! You won't regret it!! read more

I wanted to start by saying that we did receive very kind service from the staff! They were as accommodating as possible, and we left there feeling cared for. During our time, the only minor frustration was that they didn't have fries available for our 2 year old son's order(I know, we are actively working to widen his pallet, but at a sushi restaurant that's a big ask lol), but he still enjoyed his chicken nuggets. The true disappointment was getting home that evening and beginning a 24-hour stent of food poisoning. At first, I tried to give the benefit of the doubt that maybe I had overeaten since we grabbed desert somewhere after, but I was the only one who had gotten sick, and I didn't share my Jam Sesh roll with anyone else. My true hope is that this was just a one-time occurrence because the staff was truly kind, but food poisoning is never a good time! read more

We wanted to try a new place, we walked in and ordered the pot stickers, strike #1- super salty uneatable. Strike#2- microwave and making sushi with a machine. Strike #3 and final strike!!!! As in cancel our order we are all set. So let me share about this one. The man that was behind the counter making rolls, walked over to the bar, picked up the phone, proceeded to take an order I assume as he started tapping on the kiosk, mind you all with gloves on. I thought I would try a new sushi spot yesterday so I decided to DoorDash rock n roll. When I got it I was like there is no way they make the sushi like this. As you can see my sushi is mainly rice, it was still ok but not really since it was all rice. And yes, I ate most of it because sushi isn't cheap! Funny enough, my sister in law (in a different state) ordered it right after me from a different Rock n Roll Sushi and when she showed me her sushi (she got the same exact ones I did) sure enough it was filled nicely and didn't have so much rice. The staff were all so nice and attentive today for Father's Day, the food was fresh and so delicious! The VIP roll and The Experience are fantastic. The bathrooms were clean but smelt bad (someone had just come out so who knows) and the water tasted bad but not the end of the world. My husband eats there often with his coworkers but this was my first time and it did not disappoint! read more

So we got the Raggae roll and the Volcano roll. We also got a hibachi dinner to share. So this photo shows you the size and the lack of what was inside. We paid $88. We thought after they got new management there would be an improvement. If you aren't familiar with good sushi then you will accept this. Just bad Service all around. we were standing around waiting to be seated at first seeing as there was no host , bartender or server present. eventually we sat our selves infront of the bar so we couldn't be missed looked up the menu on our phones ect. there's 2 other tables aside from us and after sitting down i can see about 6 staff members in total it still takes us another 10 minutes to be seen tended to ect. What looks like the only server on staff doesn't have any will to live as he moves with all the enthusiasm of a dying sloth. He managed to make a couple 30 second trips into 10 minute tasks that turned a quick trip into an almost hour and a half ordeal. from forgetting menus , silverware , drinks , ringing in my daughters order and her Togo boxes ect. There was also an issue with my wife's order , brought it up to the server to see if there was anything they could do. we were met with "you don't know what a California roll is?" We left it be , the server took it off the table , we were still charged full price for it. The only pleasantries the server exchanged aside from hi or bye were towards the end of the meal in regards to drumming up some good graces for a tip but it all felt hollow. This joint is unbelievable. I am traveling through and found them where?? On Yelp of course, silly goose. I am a sushi connoisseur and from the moment I walked in I knew I made a good choice. The place literally smelled clean, rock music in the background at a decent level and the ambiance is rock n roll. Very tastefully decorated. The food: I started with a squid salad. Nice portion for a starter. The menu is fashioned after artists. The Johnny Cash roll. The Res Hot Chili Peppers roll, etc. I settled on the Sammy Hagar. Shrimp tempura and spicy tuna with crab and jalapeño. Topped with eel sauce and sesame seeds. Wonderfully put together. When you are in town, stop in. You won't be disappointed. This has all the essentials to make it a fantastic place. Location, staff, and unique theme. However the sushi is just mediocre. I've tried this a few times just to see if my options were off. Everything tasted fine it just didn't wow. This is a themed place if you can't tell by the name lol. Rolls are named by rock n roll. Restaurant has a uniqueness to the design and feel. Like I said, if the sushi was on point it would be a banger. But really each roll was very underwhelming. If you come here it's more for the bar and environment and not the food. read more

My one star is for horrible service by Megan and the forced gratuity even during horrible service. I came in with my family and three of them are vegetarian. We asked the waitress if their were any vegetarian options and she did not know. She looked at the menu and suggested things that had meat and fish in it. We asked her for condiments for my kids and she forget them twice. Worst part is when you get your bill and I would feel she deserved $0 tip but sadly their is a forced gratuity on there. This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. Just don't be in a hurry. The rolls were a 5 out of 5. Really well balanced. Tasted great. The service was very attentive and friendly. It just takes a while (45-60 minutes) to get your rolls. Just expect to have a nice conversation and a couple of drinks before you eat. read more

Sushi is mediocre. Not the best. Not the worst. Shocked when it came with less than half a bite of wasabi and ginger. They charge for an actual normal serving of wasabi and ginger. Probably wouldn't eat here again just because there are much better sushi places in town! read more

Atmosphere was nice and our server was nice. Only reason I came was because I had a coupon. Wouldn't come back. Overpriced for the portion sizing, my fried rice was overcooked. I thought they'd play rock and roll music but instead it was like new generation emo punk rock (personally not complaining, just not what I expected. I could easily see others disliking the music). Our family est sushi at lesst one s week from other restaurants in Jackson. We were excited for 6 months counting down to the grand opening as its in walking distance from home. We spent over a $100 the first week of dtore opening and my entire family had the same reaction. Poor and unfriendly customer service. Very slow. We had tried the Memphis location and loved it. Despite the somewhat poor reviews, we decided to give it a try. The customer service was wonderful and friendly. Our waitress was educated on the menu and even helped our kids by providing chopstick grippers. The sushi was absolutely delicious and the perfect smount for me to feel full. The crab in the poppers had a odd taste that lingered around for a few hours after eating " thought I was going to get food poisoning " but I didn't get sick. The roll itself was good, but had a sauce on it that wasn't said on the menu. The prices are higher than most sushi places...probably will not come back. Both the assistant general manager and the general manager visited our table to ensure we were happy. They are very clean and very conscious of people with allergies. The restaurant was very clean and attractively decorated. Parking was easy and there was no wait to get a table. Service was slow, the wait staff were not very attentive, but they were very polite. There were only a few people in the restaurant but the wait staff did not make sure they were attended to. I, in fact, had to request that my empty glass be refilled. The food looked and tasted wonderful. I had the appetizer combo, miso soup, and a shrimp tempura roll. I gave this restaurant a 4 because it was very cold inside and because the wait staff were not attentive. If these 2 issues are addressed I'd give this a solid 5 star rating. read more
