How wrong was I? Haviv & Sandy were lovely. My first impression set the tone when they suggested that I should go to Long's as they sell the watches I wanted appraised. They were trying to do the best for me over just getting business. I explained my experience at Long's and Haviv & Sandy said they would take care of me. And they did. I left with an appraisal after some great conversation about Vegas. Lovely couple and so friendly. Watching them interact with other customers confirmed they treat everyone the same. Just goes to prove...local business over chain every time. Anything else I need, I will go back to Golden Link.

After looking at the detail on the wedding band, the detailing was completely different. The sales women say "they look so close in comparison". I'm sorry if I can notice a difference, it's your job to notice these things. Yet she has the audacity to tell me she's good at her job. Later to find out the OWNER, she usually sits at the front desk looking at her nails and all her jewelery placed the order incorrectly. When the owner originally placed the order she told us maybe 2 weeks. It took the incorrectly ordered ring 6 weeks to come in. When I had said she ordered the wrong ring and would rather look at her nails, the sales person and manager yelled at me. Yes the whole store could hear their unprofessionalism. Customer is already right regardless of who signs your paycheck. This company should be ashamed of themselves. Their customer service shows that they only care about themselves rather than taking care of what used to be loyal customers for 45 years. After that traumatic and scaring experience, I got a refund and wait straight to their competitor. ALWAYS choose Long's, much more professional and they will not yell at you.

A Tale Of Two Rings…read more I went into Longs with a friend who was shopping for a ring. She tried on quite a few diamonds and gemologist, Retno, was super helpful. Then I spotted a second ring that seemed perfect for my son and his fiance. Retno took some time with me to look at the second ring, and she treated my son like royalty when he came back a few days later to buy it. I won't mention which is which, but one ring was a much more substantial purchase. Nevertheless, both people received star treatment from Retno. She even appraised the ring for my son while we waited. Incredible service and she made a special day even better than we could have imagined. And the ring? It fit perfectly and looks lovely - and of course she said yes! Thanks, Retno and Longs. We hope this is the beginning of two beautiful relationships!

When I asked about the appraisal, the first questions from the Long's representative was "did you buy it here?" When I said no, their entire attitude changed. I was persona non grata. I was nobody. They could have cared less about my business or interacting with me. They told me I could go to the website and schedule an appointment in late January Before I left I asked where their watches were as I thought I'd take a look. The representative pointed towards them. I walked over and there were 2 salespersons there, neither of which asked if they could help me. I just left. Won't go back. I buy 2-3 watches a year but it won't be from Longs. They might want to watch "Pretty Woman"....mistake...huge mistake.

We went to NH one jewelry store was very nice we shop there often they just did not have anything the other the sales person was very young and rude. So we left and decided we would go on a search for a locket. On the way home I thought about Royal Jewelers. We had never been to the store but someone I know spoke very highly of it. So I called the store explained what we were looking for. The saleswoman sounded excited as she said they had just the locket they had it for awhile. We asked Margaret to hold it for us. We went a few days later and it was exactly what my friend wanted-mind you this was a small purchase under $500. Margaret treated us like we were buying an expensive piece. She was so helpful and genuine. My friend purchased it and they had it engraved it came out perfectly and before the engraving was authorized Margaret sent an example over. The store is very beautiful, and Margaret is a gem herself. It was a great experience, we will be back.

Absolutely avoid this business. I cannot caution you strongly enough. Absolute incompetence verging…read moreon malpractice. They're just there to push metal and rocks with no genuine concern for the customer. My wife went to Royal Jewelers with her engagement ring and the ring marking the birth of our daughter. She's had them for 27 and 24 years, and she left with both rings destroyed and needing to be rebuilt from scratch. The rings were joined together and she wore them often, but this past time she wasn't able to easily remove them. She wanted them resized and expected they would remove them by cutting them, easing them off and then add a small section to make them larger. Instead, after they were cut, their senior "expert jeweler" went after them with two pairs of pliers like he was using the "Jaws of Life" and tore open a 1/2-inch gap in the ring putting sharp bends and scratches all around the ring, including hard bends in the settings and basically destroying the entire ring set. Now she's home in tears with her ring, absolutely ruined by this yahoo, and needing it to be rebuilt from scratch. To make their failure even more painful for us, the ring was originally made by a good friend of ours who has since passed away. He was an actual professional jeweler that I'm certain could have easily have managed this task. When I called to speak with this jeweler, I got a complete song and dance of "Well I had to be careful not to cut her finger with the sharp edges" and "I told her some of the set stones may come a little loose". Seriously? He should have told her "I'm going to open up your ring like a pinata and you will never wear it again." And the nonchalant attitude of not my problem "well these things can happen" I got from him on the phone was beyond the pale. He could have easily slipped a thin strip of stainless steel under the cut to protect her and eased the ring off. Or, he could have cut the ring on both the left and right side so it would come off in two pieces. This is a simple job that just needs some care and can be done in many ways. Royal could have done better with bolt cutters! So, I would say to any potential customer, Royal Jewelers may be suitable for retailing pre-manufactured items or working on costume jewelry, but for anything with sentimental or monetary value just stay away. And to Royal Jewelers, I just say this, if you cannot do a job right, then just say so and don't take the job.
