As for this visit, I had no issues finding a parking spot to park my vehicle. The parking lot was less congested in comparison to a Food4Less location I visit in Melrose Park off-and-on due to it being the closest to where I frequent. The atmosphere inside felt relaxed, a very chill vibe! Other than that, I must say that it was a break shopping here in comparison to a Jewel-Osco, Pete's Fresh Market, Mariano's, or even Walmart which I off-and-on shop at. Now along with the shelved items being organized, the market is acceptably clean, and the aisles have plenty of maneuvering space in between them. And like other Food4Less locations, it has that warehouse-like appearance. I particularly searched for the box of Jimmy Dean - Blueberry Griddle Cake Sausage, Egg, and Cheese sandwiches, and either apple or orange juice which I found without any assistance needed. While shopping, other items shelved I took a liking to were a box of Jimmy Dean - Maple Griddle Cake Sausage, Egg, and Cheese sandwiches, a box of MorningStar Farms - Sweet BBQ Riblets, Granola Bars Chewy - Cookies & Creme, Oreo - Dirt Cake Flavor Creme Chocolate Cookies, and the Oreo - Star Wars Flavor Creme Chocolate Cookies edition which I will definitely look into trying at some point. While in line, waiting to be rang up by David B, the cashier, I could not resist giggling at the customer to cashier interaction which certainly put me at ease and in good spirits post shopping at this Food4Less. For the most part, I enjoyed shopping at Food4Less - Evanston, but I just cannot see myself shopping at this particular location on a regular basis due to it being out of my way. However, if in the area and in need of grocery shopping, I would more than likely return. ~Keep it simple. ~ Thomas G

Do you all know that Kroger once tried to buy Albertsons? I'm not sure if this is still in progress…read moreor not, only that at this point I really hope it doesn't go through. I don't love monopolies, unless I am winning at the board game. So I look up cheap grocery stores, and other than Aldi, Food4Less came up. I found one not too far away from me and decided to venture up there. I walked through the doors and some of the first merchandise I see has the Kroger logo. Go figure. Where it comes to this specific grocery store, variety is one of the items that cost it points Their selection was fair, but the deli department is notably small, and there is no visible butcher shop (though there are meats and seafood for sale). You can more or less find everything you would need among these notably very wide aisles, but perhaps some items would require one to go elsewhere. Among the items they had, the store appeared clean and well stocked. When it comes to their prices, while nothing is cheap anymore, especially in Chicagoland, I found their prices were a little lower than average, especially for the eggs. When it comes to the customer service, this could also be a little bit better. While there was no one at the customer service desk, it had a little sign that said that this register is closed. So... if you need to return something or if a price isn't right, what then? You're just out of luck or something? I'd also like to note that this is a place where you bag your own groceries. Not a problem, necessarily, just thought I'd put it out there. Thus, while I appreciate the lower prices, the slightly limited selection and the lack of customer service cost Food4Less a couple points. Still respectable though, and I can still see myself coming back on occasion.

Parking: the lot is small but I always find a spot towards back of the lot. The tasting section in Trader Joe's is very nice. The tasting section staff member is always a wonderful conversationalist, very engaging. Store has semi wide aisles, nicely decorated and signs in store sharing prices. For brunch I was pleased to buy all items for under $20: Charles Shaw wine, Kale and Broccoli salad, Vanilla Cake and Cookies. My favorite item was the cake! I can't wait to try all the cake flavors. Cashier is so helpful. I find shopping at Trader Joe's an extremely enjoyable experience.

We still had to spend additional time and money purchasing replacement groceries elsewhere. We then spent even more time trying to reach someone who could address the recurring issue, only to receive apologies from bots and supposedly "human" agents, but no meaningful corrective action. As a result, I sent an email to Amazon's Executive Customer Relations team. In short: premium prices, poor-quality produce, repeated apologies, refunds, and no meaningful corrective action. For my family, that was enough to take our business elsewhere.

I absolutely love shopping here…read more This GFS is total nirvana compared to Costco, Jewel, etc. The aisles are wide and clutter-free, the store is extremely clean and the staff is unbelievably friendly. I enjoy shopping in quieter, less chaotic establishments and GFS is excellent. I've been to this location about a half dozen times since one of the Asst. Managers came to my place of employment to introduce herself and dropped off some information. She has been fabulous to work with since I began my relationship with GFS. GFS is less than a mile down the road frame where I work, so it's extremely (almost too) convenient. :) Anything and everything you could ever need for a big party, fundraiser, pantry stocking, business/office essentials and more is here. GFS carries a lot of name brand items, as well as their own generic GFS products. In the past I have purchased coffee, soda, desserts, chips, cookies, cakes, pre-made salads, bagels, chili, beef, buns, taco stuffings, guacamole, produce, disposable tablecloths, paper products and decor items. I've never had a problem with anything. Quality has been far above average. I find that their prices are extremely competitive, too. I appreciate the fact that they break down pricing on their shelf tags. For example: they break down soup costs and give you the price per serving. This is very important in my line of work. 3/$9 name brand soda sales are awesome. Stock up! Most items are sold in bulk, so be prepared for that. They don't offer a huge variety of fresh produce items, but they do sell the essentials; apples, oranges, strawberries, salad mixes, peppers, etc. Sign-up for email alerts. They typically include a $5 off $50 purchase. I just got (2) $5 of $50 coupons via snail mail that I'll definitely be able to use. Great parking lot; clean & spacious. Shopping carts are well-maintained and corralled in one place. You won't find carts all over the parking lot here or miscellaneous trash hanging around. I'll definitely take advantage of online ordering if they start offering that service. No membership necessary. GFS is open to the public.

Sunset Foods is pretty common of a locally owned grocery store that has a few fancy things. Common items are found elsewhere. It's got a pretty interesting history about it. This is the second location which opened up in 1961 and there are a few others. A place one only goes to because it's close by. The selection is pretty basic and you can find mostly all the products here for cheaper in the other stores. A lot of local products is a great thing about it. The prepared food options include fried chicken and sushi. Of course it's the kind of stuff found in most grocery stores worth shopping at. There's also a grill where you can get meals. Got to say it's proud of having local items. It's just basic as far as selection it seems. There's higher prices but if you like independent stores this is okay to check out or whatever.
