He was professional and courteous while explaining the process, what he recommended, and what the next steps were. I appreciate his thoroughness and taking the time to hear my concerns. After approving the estimate, we scheduled the appointment. Carlos and Juan showed up early, which we really appreciated. They did a thorough job and finished the job on a large house well within the estimated 4~5 hours to complete the job. During the job, Derek showed up to check on the team and to inspect the HVAC for any potential problems. In our case, there is some additional work that should be done. I was happy to see an estimate come in quickly with pictures, recommendations, and an explanation of why the work was needed. This is a first class company and worth every penny! We considered other companies like Zerorez, which were certainly cheaper. Ultimately, we decided on Dandy Duct Cleaning because of their professionalism and commitment to a job well done.

So, the background, I have an older furnace that had some black soot coming out of the vents and he said it was mold and mildew. He assessed the furnaces in the attic, and told me what he had to do. Sounded reasonable, so I agreed. This was on a Thursday. After he left, the problems were 1) the blower stopped working after he finished so I had no AC during that heat spell in May 2) there was a small gas odor after he finished 3) he didn't do the dryer vent cleaning because he had to be somewhere in the afternoon, at 2:30pm! He was telling me all the things wrong with my HVAC system as though he didn't want to do the work, but was completely interested in talking about the house that he was building and how great the HVAC was. But what's disappointing to me, especially, was his unprofessionalism. He didn't complete the job at 2:30pm because he had to "go to downtown to talk to the painters for his house that is being built." Like you are on company time, how many other jobs has he not finished or completed for his company to tend to personal matters? I paid in cash, so he likely didn't even report this job. I called another HVAC team and they fixed my furnace blower to just get the AC working but also gave me a great deal to just replace that old furnace upstairs. They were also the ones that explained all the bad work that was done prior, and the lack of work that Jerry did! When they ripped out the junction box, all the mold and stuff Jerry took a picture of was still there! The major thing was the gas leak, and fortunately my new HVAC guy found it. That could have been very dangerous. After the work of the other HVAC company was done and I had time to think about all that Jerry for NOA didn't do, he called me and said that he could come on the Saturday for the dryer vent cleaning. When I asked him what time, he said he'd check and get back to me. Then he never called me back. Then he calls me randomly on Sunday, the next day, and I cancelled on him at this point because I don't trust his work, or this company. Beware of NOA, and how they take advantage of you not knowing about HVAC. As a nurse, I naturally just wanted the best for my family in terms of air quality. But to damage the system I had in place, despite the age, and potentially cause more danger with a gas odor and leak, I don't think I can trust this company. Plus the fact that Jerry, was more concerned with his own personal project than helping me was a real turn off. He said it'd only take 10-15min, but didn't do it? Because of traffic to his paint match appointment? Bad value, bad customer service, bad work. Response time was good, but the only reason why I had to leave a star is because you can't leave a '0' star review.

Sadly, the owner of Nick's passed away and this company is now owned by Dunrite. I called that company based on the reviews of Nick's Air Services, but their services has definitely NOT been the same as mentioned on this profile. In summary, this company is expensive, can make improper recommendations, and the office is very difficult to get anyone to call you back. I absolutely would not use them again in the future and - had I read their Yelp profile for Dunrite Heating & Cooling - would never have called them in the first place. My experience: My air conditioning due to leaked refrigerant due to another HVAC technician not correct. Nick's/Dunrite came out during the same day and quickly identified the problem. There was a leak on the schrader valve. They got us back to running - for nearly $200/per pound of refrigerant. 5 lbs = about $1,000. Wow, but we had no choice as my original installer was not available. Our unit has not been keeping up with the 90s for the past two months and the technician recommended 3 different options. I chose 2 of the 3 options: a larger return air duct AND repairing the plenum. I was anxious to get the work scheduled and it took me hounding them to get them to schedule the work. Communicating with this office was very painful. I would never get calls back and would just get a text message indicating when they had scheduled the appointment. Their front desk support was exceedingly helpful but not empowered to do anything besides schedule appointments and pass along info. I finally had the appointment and the technician went to the wrong address. I got a call from them saying they had been at my house and then they proceeded to the next job. I spoke to them and learned they were at the wrong house, but could not turn around to go back to my house. I had to wait until the following week to get the appointment rescheduled. What a disaster. It got worse. The work was finally done - the return air duct and the plenum. I waited a couple of days, but there was NO change in the air conditioning. I called them back again and they scheduled another technician to come out. The second technician came out, a more senior technician, who confirmed that the unit was undersized and "working as it was designed" to cool at 75-76. I don't know a single person who is comfortable with 75-76 in the house when the outside is in the 90s. I called customer service again. When I finally got someone, I got a call from William, who is their most senior technician (an older guys in his late-50s probably). He came out with the original technical and instructed him how to properly do a heat load calculation. They determined indeed the unit is undersized and I needed a 3 ton. I called back the customer service asking for a refund to the work. I've called at least 3-4 times, each time speaking with a very nice person. However, I've still not been called back. What a disaster. I've finally had to resort to filing a complaint with my credit card and disputing it through them. It's unfortunate and I didn't want to have to do this, but - when no one will call you back - it's very very hard to trust this company to make things right.

I did know that the house felt stuffy, humid and not very cool. I called a competitor and they said that it would take 2 1/2 weeks to schedule a visit. I'd seen the commercials for ACGEEKS on TV and called them. I was scheduled TWO DAYS LATER!!! Wow!! This company is service oriented. They show everything that they are doing; what is happening; why it is important; and whether the repairs and needed immediately or can wait. Eric was fabulous. He showed me the air filter for one of our units and the dust was CAKED ON SOLID!!! Clearly a few years of neglect. The 2nd unit was not as bad, but it was bad. I decided (THEY GAVE ME THE OPTION!!!) to buy the more expensive filters because the more expensive filters seal the a/c duct. Next Eric discovered a battery on one of the unit was at 45% (that is NOT good) and the battery outside was in a similar state. I decided (THEY GAVE ME THE OPTION AND EXPLAINED THE PROS AND CONS OF BOTH BATTERY REPLACEMENTS) of whether to let it go or to replace the batteries. I decided to replace both batteries with a bit stronger charging unit in order to help it last. Finally, Eric found a LOT of leaves and debris in one of the outside compressor boxes. He cleaned it out, cleaned the coils, and then no charge!!! Stacy and Eric and fantastic. When I call the company after I found out the false claim, the manager offered full refund in a very friendly manner. Then the receptionist TJ keeps saying he will find out the status and call me back. After a month, Jacob the manager told me it was denied by the accounting department, since they did come out to do cleaning, I requested half refund. After 3 weeks waiting for the accounting department approval, I was told finally they are not going to give any refund. I updated the review after the owner contacted me. He explained about the situation regarding NADCA and the full refund is quick.

It was corroding and not functioning properly. Terrill took good care of me and I got scheduled for a couple days after my call last week, which I appreciated a lot. Friendly people, and their quality of work was great. The install was not out of the normal price range, definitely charged fair. This is an honest plumbing company, I don't regret giving them a call, my water is nice and hot now all the time, no intermittent breakdowns anymore!
