Customer service.
Norris V.

If 0 stars was an option I'd have given 0 stars. I'll walk before booking with jet blue ever again. Terrible customer service. Really good at taking your money but be sure to read every little fine print before booking. I booked the wrong flight by mistake when I was searching for flights and didn't realize it until two weeks later. I tried to use their messaging service-2 hour wait. Tried to call- 2 hour hold. Finally got someone on. No resolution. Another 20 minute hold for the supervisor. No supervisor. Same rep came back on with the same non resolution and told me they would have told me the same thing anyways. I never thought I recommend Southwest Airlines over anything but... Now I'd even highly recommend and the lowest of the low - Spirit Airlines or Southwest over Jet Blue. Even Alaska airlines is better their customer service is amazing!

Pricing is similar to other carriers and I pray they will bring back the route to Las Vegas soon! Hope you're reading this corporate :) Currently I believe they only fly from Reno to Burbank or Orange County which is non-stop, but use to fly direct to Las Vegas a few times a day. Here are a couple of tips for you though! -You can't park your car in the JSX parking lot without having to do the valet which I believe is fairly costly so plan ahead and get a ride or do the math and get an Uber if it makes more sense. -Also be ready for a brief random bag check here and there. -Last but not least there is overhead compartments on their jets so even if you have a carry on you will need to hand it off to one their polite employees as it goes under the plane. You can carry on back packs, purses and stuff like that which would fit under the seat in front of you. Happy flying and I almost forgot to mention they have complimentary snacks & beverages just like the big boys but even better!!

I left GSR and merged onto the freeway, drove about a mile, then exited for the airport. It was that quick. I drove up towards the terminals and there was ample parking. Although it says to keep moving, there appeared to be no rush. People were parking in the structure to the west and coming out of the doors of baggage claim to the east to waiting cars or taxis. My friend called and we figured out where he was from me. It was easier for me to stay put and for him to come to me. He had several bags and an airport baggage roller. Once he reached the outside curb where I was parked it was super easy to open up the doors to our SUV and get his bags inside. Back on the freeway for about a mile and we were at the GSR. From my experience, the airport is easily accessible and it's no trouble at all to pick up a friend who has flown in.

Currently there is some construction going on outside, but getting to the parking garage and the terminal was easy. Drop off and pickup is simple as well. Drive in, drive out. The entrance to the security area is well marked and easy to find, it is in the center of the airport. The security lines are usually quite short, it's usually 15 minutes or less every time I have gone through. once I was through security I made my way to the Southwest gate. Everything went very smooth and it was stress-free.

As always, I checked my hard sided Pelican gun case secured with 2 large padlocks When i arrived in Dallas my gun case was the first piece of baggage off the carousel. This was odd as guns are typically hand carried to the office. The first thing I notice is there's a padlock missing and the double hasps lined with steel are completely ripped open. I made a beeline to the baggage office The first thing the attendant asks is "Are there guns in there" "There were. Im hoping they still are" He tells me to scan a code and file a claim saying "Guns are supposed to be hand carried here not put on the conveyor " He was right because anyone could have stolen them I start the claim process then walk outside to verify the guns, silencer and everything else is there. They were but now I have no way to transport them home because the case has been compromised AA tells me to either buy another gun case and locks or ship the guns homeand send the receipt for reimbursement. I send pictures, receipts, details, etc. i ask for $400 to pay for the case, shipping, etc AA denies the claim as cosmetic damage even though they admitted i couldn't fly with gunns in this case because it couldn't be locked If you get a live person they lie to you and pass the buck. This ordeal has been going on for 6 weeks. Id rather fly spirit or frontier than these grifters

Spirit Airlines

I usually like flying Spirit. But today I ran into some new employees that mistreated my wife and…read moreI. They were Araceli, Renesha and Stephanie. These lovely pieces of work gave us such a hard time over our carry-ons. I swear they seemed to enjoy trying to get us to pay for extra luggage. I've never seen anything quite like it. They were rude, disrespectful and completely unprofessional. I believe Spirit Airline would be better off, without these ladies in their employ. Renesha asked my if my last name was "Mexican" and I replied "I'm third generation American and I served honorably in the military, and to my best I do believe the roots of my surname can be traced back to Mexico and then further to Spain" She sneered derisively and announced to all around that we would have to pay $99 for our carry-on. Stephanie smile, so big, as to imply the charge was making her day! I asked Stephanie "why does charging people extra money make you so happy?" She chortled and said back "I don't know, it's just funny" Funny? Charging people $99 was funny to Stephanie, and at this point as if to help Stephanie make her point. Araceli, also began to laugh. Apparently I was not in on the joke. Also my bags were not full. And FAA approved carryons so I consolidated and this just made these girls livid. They insisted we had to pay that our bags were too big. Araceli asked me to put my bag in the carryon bin. It fit, she gasped, and then my wife was told to put her purse in the same carryon measuring bin. She did and her purse also fit. Araceli asked me to put my bag in again, but I just started to board and Ranesha begrudgingly scanned my boarding passes. Defeated. But I'm not done, I'm going to complain to Spirit Customer Service and the FAA about these children. We flew on Spirit flight 1635 out of gate C11 in the Reno airport at 10:40 am. These woman should not be employees at a federal airport, they have the wrong temperament.

Cheap flight to Las Vegas (from Reno). Ok I'll pay $100 for a bag. That cheap. $280 for 2 people round trip! Ok, no assigned seat or internet. It's a 1 hour flight. God forbid you decide to change your trip to see Def Leppard! ($144 change fee). Ok, we're up to $424 for 2 people. (Should have booked with Alaska Airlines). Need to change return flight now. I thought we'd take an evening flight home to enjoy the day, but kid values school attendance and first day of lacrosse practice). I try to change return flight (if you just book it, it's $76 each = $152) but online it says $280.00. After trying all their online chat bots & such, I try to call to understand the fare difference. Forced to download WhatsApp in order to call. Did it. Signed up. Called. Waited 50 minutes. Dude could not help. I asked for supervisor. She kept giving me different info every time I asked. Basically, I'm screwed. No supervisor above her. She offered to charge me $27 per passenger for talking to an agent!!!!!! Apparently I was charged change fee $86 for the first change. $98 for this one, if I choose. What if I was slightly less techy than I am now? This company is predatory and a rip off. $704 for a round trip for 2, if I paid their fluctuating fees....plus another $50 to ask a human why!!!!???? Anyone know if I can join a class action? Or start one? Advice! I will not fly on this airline. I will drive to Las Vegas instead. Do not book a ticket with Spirit Airlines! No consistency or accountability. I assumed they were a 'normal' airline that just charged you full price to change your flight. Small claims court? I'd better read the shifting sand disclaimer I probably signed.
