The Food is always Honest, HomeCooked Comfort Food. Filling Portions. Tasty. Hot. Even when Delivered. They also know how to package their food for delivery. Nothing ever falls apart or spilled. Eating in is more 'Hole-In-The-Wall' then Breakfast Bistro. Decor / Ambiance is an old throwback to the 80s. They have too many rugs on the floor but because the flooring is uneven it's more for safety between the grade difference. Jet could be cleaner. But you don't come here for the Ambiance. Excellent service here. The two women working here were really friendly, as soon as we walked in from the time we left. This place is showing its age but it has a good amount of tables, and we had lots of room. They told us we can sit anywhere we want. We ordered the $5.99 all day breakfast, two coffees, and a side of pancakes. All that was more than enough for two of us to share. The two pancakes were delicious, three thick strips of bacon, scrambled eggs, and two pieces of white toast. They have many different types of coffee to choose from, and we went with the high caffeine Kick Ass blend; really good tasting. Restrooms are in the basement and to get there can be a bit dangerous with the lack of a proper handrail. read more

Really yummy and fresh food! Place is kinda small, but you can't ask for a huge place in downtown Hamilton. Service was really nice and quick. My girlfriends Eggs Benedict were cooked perfectly to her liking and the sauce was delicious. Servings were totally worth their price if not a STEAL! Would totally come back. read more

If your taste buds veer towards the bland and the tasteless, your in for a treat at Jet Cafe. I have eaten many omelets in many different diners and the chicken omelette I just ate here was terrible. Might as well have eaten a pillow. This was bland,bland, bland! Sacrificing taste for inexpensive and large portions does not make for a good and satisfying eating experience. The price is the biggest selling point. I came with one other person for Sunday brunch. Our meal consisted of the classic breakfast (2 eggs, bacon, toast and home fries) which was standard and filling. We also got the large fruit salad which was reasonably sized. Our last item was a grilled cheese sandwich with spinach which was probably my least favourite item simply because it was, well, plain. All in all, nothing to write home about but it did do the job of filling two hungry hippos up for quite cheap (total came to about $25 including tax and tip). I would recommend to anyone looking for a no frills-type brunch. read more

The food is so ok. However, if you are American and you do not have Canadian currency, get ready to get screwed. The credit card machine doesn't work, and if you pay with US dollars, the cashier is incapable to do basic math and give you the exchange rate. This place use to be good After a couple years I decided to try this place again. We ordered the steak and eggs as we normally do looking for a good breakfast place (if they can make the perfect steak and eggs they're golden in our eyes) the meat was SPOILED.. I took one bite and couldn't even chew it I had to immediately spit it into a napkin, boyfriends was the same.. it was absolutely disgusting. The only reason I ate as much as I did was because I was starving after waiting almost an hour for it to be prepared and delivered via skip 4 mins down the road. My mushroom and swiss omelette was clearly made with kraft slices and canned mushrooms. The only good thing was the homefries. I tried them again after I had a dissappointing experience with grilled cheese with bacon that was missing the bacon and make with kraft slices. This is the first breakfast spot I've been to in Hamilton. It's pretty good. They had a big breakfast special and it was eggs, bacon, toast, and homefries. It was only 8 dollars. I've gone to this place several times with friends, my brothers and even my kids. The Banana pancakes with strawberry syrup was a big hit with my son every time. The eggs are nice, but since hiring a new cook the portions have shrank a little. Still good quality and some items have improved as well so not all change is bad. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and decent food makes it one of the better places in Hamilton to hit for breakfast. read more

Great food at reasonable prices. As you enter, go to the very end, and order and pay there. The order taker will give you a number that you should place on whatever table you choose. Your plate will be brought to you. They have an amazing choice of coffees to choose from, but there are no free refills; you have to pay for each one. This is one of those hit or a miss places. One day you will drool over how delicious the food is. Your mouth will be in utter utopia. The very next day you order the same thing, hoping that you can revisit the utopia you had found yesterday, and instead you are faced with the most disgusting excuse for food. Came here with my cousin and his wife and kids for his bday brunch. Super unimpressed. The cashier at the counter was sort of rude when we were ordering for the kids. She made a weird comment like it was annoying that we were adding more to the order. I ordered the 5$ breakfast which was pretty standard and good. But everyone else ordered steak and eggs which was a disaster. You could barely cut the steak with a steak knife it was so rubbery. The coffee was good, I'll give them that. I've eaten at the Jet Cafe three times in the past three weeks. The first time I had the barbecue ribs. The ribs were meaty and tender and while the sauce wasn't what I know as barbecue I didn't care because what was on it was very, very good. They were also very large so much so that I had to share half of it with my love who also said that these were the finest he's eaten in a while. The next week I had the spicy beef, you get to choose how hot you'd like it and I got medium which was perfect. The meat was sliced very thin, was tender and the sauce was the perfect foil for the rice (perfectly cooked rice, YEAH!) of which I ate every bite. I was there yesterday and had the Thai coconut curry chicken again with rice and vegetables that were mostly red and green peppers. The chicken had a buttery coconut texture and literally fell off the bone. The curry was not obtrusive but a little more subtle than I am used to. None of these dishes cost more than six dollars and I paid for both our dishes and with drinks for the two of us on average no more than 16.00. The owner is usually on site and obviously loves what he does. I listened to him interviewing what I thought might be a new employee on my first visit and his interview was as careful as is his care with the food he offers us. I go here about twice a month for breakfast dates with my boyfriend. The biggest attraction for us is that it is a local business within walking distance of our home. The prices are very reasonable, and the food is a simple but good breakfast! If your looking for a basic "bacon, eggs, toast and hash-brown breakfast" this is the place to go. The bacon eggs benny is also really good. The pancakes are ok, they are on par with box mix I'd say. The downside is that there are no coffee refills!!!!! We actually stopped going for a while because of this. On Sunday morning, I'm a two cup of coffee person. We found a solution by having a cup of coffee before we left our home. The other downside is that the place is actually kinda dirty. The walls, highchair and a few other things could use use a serious wash. The service sucks here. I ordered steak and eggs which tasted ok, I cant expect my steak to be crazy good since it only cost 10$. My friend order pancake and waffle, while she was eating it, she notice there was hair in her pancake. We told one of the employee and all she said to us was ok? do you want another one?. I was pissed, no apology or anything because she was to focus on cleaning and refilling the tables. I had a few hours to kill while getting my guitar repaired by a talented Hamilton guitar tech. I drove around looking for a place to eat. The name Jet Cafe sounded like it might be a cool place. As I had already paid for parking and there was nothing else around but scruffy, disgusting store fronts I ventured in. This place is a sh**-hole in every sense of the word. The ugly interior (Yellow stucco walls with red and blue trim) looked like it had been decorated by a four year-old. It was dirty. The chalk scrawled menu boards were hap-hazard and hard to read. The two women behind the counter were busy discussing some personal problems in low voices and took quite a while to acknowledge me. I almost walked out and should have. I ordered an omelet with smoked salmon. It was filled with onions which were basically raw, a smattering of processed cheese, a few mushrooms, a few leaves of spinach and the kind of dried out smoked salmon you see wrapped on styrofoam trays at the grocery store. This was an appalling assembly of mismatched ingredients that erroneously found themselves together inside an egg blanket. The coffee ("Kick-Ass" brand) was so weak it was probably made from as little as four coffee beans. It did not kick ass! In desperation I ate some of it and it was truly horrible. The toast was the only edible item. I had to use the washroom before I left and not surprisingly it was a filthy ruin. To my astonishment, people began to fill the place just as I was leaving.
