I finally passed my road test yesterday after taking 8 driving lessons. I failed twice and they said third time is a charm. Anyway, I am giving Jessi Driving School three stars for the fact that you have to pay another $150 for car & appointment if you fail your first road test which I think should be part of the package. I have a friend offered his car to take my second road test but I failed it because he tried to fight with the inspector so what can you expect?! I have no other options but to buy another package and practice driving again and get ready for my third road test. I even added an extra driving lesson prior my scheduled road test yesterday. Instructor JAVIER showed his unprofessionalism first by shouting on me the day before and for switching another instructor last minute whom I have never met and without my knowledge. I would give credits to Miguel for providing feedback which I truly believe is very important and necessary rather than treating students like the way I was treated by JAVIER and I would not recommend him. I called and spoke to a representative because I was not in the mood to take my road test but I just decided I will go for it no matter what and I will not allow a person like JAVIER to ruin my day. I hope this review will help you guys decide who to pick as your instructor. NO TO JAVIER!!!! VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! Anyway, a big shoutout to ALFREDO who drove us to the Red Hook driving site. He is really nice and provided us good pointers and I felt the sense of support in order to pass the road test which I did and I really really appreciate him. I had amazing lessons at Jessi Driving school! I came in for my 5 hour class thinking that I already knew how to drive but realized most of what I know are bad habit that needed to be fixed. I initially took 3 classes but switched to 5 to ensure that I passed the road test. I HIGHLY recommend Mario and Alfredo! They will allow you to go at your own pace while correcting you. They are very skilled and honest which you NEED!!!! They might not tell you what you want to hear but trust that they're looking out for you and want you to do pass!!! They are flexible and will work with you if you show effort and the true desire to learn!! I went to Red Hook today after they booked my road test and provided the car. I aced the test without any deductions thanks to Jessi Driving School!!!!! It was worth every penny and more!! You will not regret it!!!! read more

My instructor for my 1st 6 lessons was Alfredo Cedeño he was so patient w/ me answered any questions I may have!!! Let me tell u!!! I've been trying to get my license for years now and was really abt to give up but I moved to a new neighborhood and decid to give Jessi driving school a try ! And I'm so happy I did !!! I also had a lesson with Cesar De La cruz and he was amazing tooo as well as Mario Rosario! I'm just so great full and thankful for jessi driving school ! They really were a big help ! Even the staff behind the desk was amazing and helpfull never sensed any kind of attitude from them even when I ask a million questions! I just passed the road test today on my first try. I thought I did not make it but I did! All the staff and the instructors were amazing. I was pleased with front desk staff who were all nice and helpful even though it seemed quite busy. I had several instructors--Miguel, Alfredo, and Xavior all were professional and knowledgeable. Could not recommend JDS more!! They make it really easy in every way! Booking and keep track of your lessons is uncomplicated, and you can do so ahead of time based on your availability and instructor preference. Reminders are sent automatically before each lesson. Literally just passed my road test!! I got a bundle for an affordable price and I learned everything I needed to know. I had the 5 hour class with Mario and I learned things that never had crosses my mind when driving. I also took my 5 classes with him which were great. After each class he tells you what you need to work on and its obvious they aren't only doing it for the money. They truly care about you passing and if they feel that you may not pass the road test they will tell you. The owner is rude and unprofessional. I payed to do the 5 hour class and he was ignoring people when they asked questions. There website says nothing about being on camera. The owner decided that if you didnt have a camera too bad.He also decided to talk about insurance and other things that could be done in the end in the beginning. Making the class longer than 5 hours. He decided to also insult a student who asked when is the video actually going to start and said " youre telling me how to do my job" "how old are you" if you dont like it then leave and I wont refund you". Horrible attitude i greeted him as soon as i sat in the car he said nothing and was mad at everything i did!! (Even just existing lmao) Mad as if someone pissed in his cereal or shall i say "con fleis" 2 minutes prior. Only good thing was him complimenting me on my driving! I truly recommend Jessi Driving School. I started brand new without much prior experience in driving. All three instructors I had were amazing! They all have different teaching techniques that are so necessary to pass the road test, Mario is excellent with observation skills... at the beginning I felt overwhelmed with all the head movements but you get used to it, just don't give up, Javier is amazing with parallel parking and how to fix parking mistakes, and Alfredo helped me so much with my 3 point U turn and observation techniques... they're all great in everything they do.... for proof today I passed my road test on the first try!!!!! if you go to this school and get Alfredo, REFUSE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. you'll most likely get nervous and not pass. He will scream at you as he is a cigarette smoker and has anxiety. HE WILL NOT GREET YOU COMING IN THE CAR. If you are a woman he will hold you by your WRIST VERY TIGHT when driving and will stop the car suddenly without you knowing what you're doing wrong then proceed to tell you with a lot of spite. I wouldn't recommend this school to my worst enemy. I took a five hour class there on a Saturday morning. The instructor, Mario, started off wrong by trying to sell driving lessons with his school. Then the next sales tactic was to ask attendees if they wished to find out about and purchase any of their convenient insurance options. The driving class training was even worse. Mario, throughout his class, used many racial slurs. He swore constantly and even called all of the class students, "ghetto, from the hood." I have never seen such a blatant lack of professionalism. As well as continually using curse words to convey his message, he constantly made sexist, rude and racist remarks whenever and where ever possible. He did so without compunction. I was waiting for him to next resume his rants with anti-lgbt slurs as a last resort. When questioned about his obviously offensive, crude and confrontational manner, he dismissed all of the class attendees by stating that it didn't matter as long as we all get the "sh*t" we need to pass. Needless to say, I left his class feeling dejected and discouraged and seeking other class options to "retake" the five hour class, as I feel absolutely no confidence in this gentleman, his school and his ability to effectively educate. Saddest most is that Mario is a Latin American and should know better, as the ugly scourge of racism was and continues to be unkind to his Latin American ethnicity to date. read more

They keep it honest and maybe to real for some peoples taste but that's fine with me, but honestly the best that I have seen. And I'm not the first of who I know to pass there test on one try. The driving instructors are definitely brutally honest and you need tough skin to deal with them, but overall they are useful in preparing you for the road test. I had my final lessons with Mario a few days before the test and I passed on the first try. Hector was also extremely nice and understanding!! This has to be the worst driving school in Brooklyn. I don't know who they are paying to post these fake reviews. From the staff to the driving instructors, they can really care less whether you pass or fail. I had Alfredo for most of my lessons and my very first one, he took 5 minutes away from my lesson because he had to finish smoking his cigarette. Alfredo will have zero patience with you and make you feel completely lost and question what you are doing. He'll yell, get frustrated and even slam the brake on you out of nowhere. When it came time for the road test Alfredo did not say a word to me. No encouragement or confidence that I will pass. After I failed he didn't even look at me. Drove back to the school in complete silence and I never went back. Don't even get me started on that 5 hour class lol. Mario will discourage people from wanting to drive and drill in your head how so many people fail their road test. Mario also spends an insane amount of time talking about insurance and a whole bunch of nonsense that won't help you to learn how to drive. So yeah don't waste your time and money here. I want start off by saying my review isn't based on because I failed my road test. Even if I didn't failed the road test wasn't going to change the way I wrote this review. If I passed I still would have written the same thing. When I would hear about the 5 hour class I was dreading to sit at a place for 5 hours long. At Jessie Mario the instructor for the 5 hour class made it fun and it wasn't fully 5 hours long. After the 5 hour class I was exited about starting my lessons. I choose the package of 10 lessons. Let me start off by saying I am a very fast learner. I don't have a problem with learning something new. My first 2 lessons went great. After my first and seconded lesson it just went down hill. I came in one day after looking at videos on youtube and I must say I did better after watching videos on youtube. Why would I say after my first and seconded lessons it went down hill well 1 the instructor spent most of his time on the phone then instead of actually teaching me. 2 from the start of the 5 hour class they start pitching this "you will not pass" instead of pitching confidence in you that you will pass. Also one of my classes was reschedule not because i reschedule it but because they did and then they tired to say I own them money. The people in the office are very friendly but at the same time if you between 18-22 years old expect to be treated like you 15 while you taking your lessons. You make a mistake the instructor will get so dramatic on you. I felt like I had to teach myself what the instructor failed to teach me. Jessi isn't a bad driving school at all just the instructors need a fresh up on how to teach a again. It's like if they don't love their job. I suggest to anyone looking for a driving school before you purchase a package take at least one lesson with them and see if they the perfect match for you. read more

This school deserves ZERO RATINGS the worst driving school ever...the only professional one was the teacher from South America he was very nice and patient... once I met with the other two Dominican teachers one bald and the other that does the video class was the worst. I had him for my last lesson before the test and made me feel I was doing everything wrong to the point I said I'm going to get out this car your making me feel uncomfortable. I never felt this way with my original teacher I believe he was Salvadorian. That Dominican teacher with long hair the worst he even would talk crap in Spanish thinking I didn't understand. Long and behold I failed the test but a few points but I wouldn't recommend anyone this school. Also there's another guy that works in office one time I asked to use the rest room. As I am a paying customer he had a smart comment to say oh other places like McDonald's would charge 25 cents for using the rest room. I would suggest do your research for another school I wouldn't recommend. Another young lady I took the exam with stated she has failed the test 6 times with the school I am not sure why she would go back but I definitely wouldn't waste my money and time here. Its very rare that I give less than 3 stars and was considering it with this place. But my experience was a few years ago. The 5 hour class was just this guy talking for 5 hours. No video, nothing....just the guy talking and pretending to hold an invisible steering wheel giving demonstrations. My road classes were okay when your instructor was the right person. I had this one lady one day who cut through my hours and made me drive her home so that she can handle something and took the car keys, had me wait in the turned off car double parked for more than 15 minutes. 15 minutes of my payed 45 minutes. I thought she was going to let me drive 15 minutes extra but she didnt. I failed my road test and decided to never go back there. I went to another school...a proper school and passed it. This was in 2007. I thought things might have changed but apparently not. My neighbor recently went there and shes changing schools because of the service. She says Mario sucks and when she went to another school he was teaching the class and claimed she just cant get rid of him. She made sure before she payed that he wasnt going to be her instructor. Yeah, I wouldnt recommend going here. But there are some people as I can see with better experiences. Take your chances at your own risk. read more

Don't spend your money. I'm extremely late with this review. I purchased 5 lessons and only made it to 3. The first 2 were with Felix, who I remember being a nice older man. Very patient. However I don't remember doing a lot of parking. The last lesson was with some guy named Alfredo and a new car! I didn't get a warning or anything. Alfredo yelled at me for not signaling before pulling away and right away I was nervous. I attempted to make small talk so that he'd know that I was a PERSON but it didn't work. At one point he yelled at me, telling me I was going to kill someone. I told him the only reason I was going to kill someone was because he was making me so nervous. It was a horrible lesson. I lost the money and I didn't care. This was the only driving school I went to that didn't pick the students up from their houses. Is that more common than I think? I don't know. This was about two years ago and I pass by JDS sometimes and just roll my eyes. They're a joke. Don't go here. RUN AWAY. read more
