Starting with the cocktails they nailed it. I have had martinis at countless restaurants (perhaps I am a lush) and their vodka martini was perfect - I mean like I make them at home. Then came the appetizer that my mother in law ordered.... cheese fritters- they were breaded mac and cheese bombs with a honey mustard dipping sauce that was to die for- no word of a lie. Next was the main.... I had a 10 oz. ribeye that wasn't 10 ounces.... it was more like 15 ounces- it was huge but it was cooked perfectly medium rare and perfectly seasoned - this wasn't just good, this was Montreal good... amazing food all around. But I think the service was the kicker.... our servers took the time to talk to us, explain the menu, ask people what they liked and were simply wonderful... I wish all restaurants had staff like this. Bottom line - if you're in this part of Ontario, go to Hobarts..... you will be blown away.

When we arrived, the staff were very friendly, location was bright and clean. I ordered the Philly Cheese Steak box - half/half, with medium heat and a garlic sauce. For our main, we got the duck 2 ways breast braised and thinly cut, and then the quarter leg with a nice crispy skin. Vegetables were a locally sources rapini. Other main we had was one the waiter said was a popular one, which was a mushroom lasagna. That was really good, but be prepared this dish is very heavy. Really good value though and delicious. We couldn't not have dessert even though we were stuffed. The waiter recommended the apricot dessert which has a rum reduction, caramel and vanilla ice cream. This was delicious as well. Since we were sitting at the bar we watched all the care the bartenders put into their drinks. We got a mocktail and we got one of the specialty drinks. Presentation is nice and some of the drinks coming out of there . This place changes their menu frequently, creating beautiful dishes depending on what is in season. Great restaurant, which supports local and has great customer relations. We had a great experience and would definitely go and enjoy again
