crooks imho! over rated Pawn shop whose goal is to rip you off. This is NOT a fine jewelry shop. I had several appraisals done and then was told I couldn't sell them for anywhere near what they appraised them for. Hello! And I paid $125 for that useless information. Also had a diamond appraised by Mervis for $17,000. Jess's appraised it for 6k. And the kicker is I lost a $40,000 diamond out of my ring but was fortunate enough to find the diamond. Jess fixed the ring. Diamond fell out again, and was lost, after they supposedly fixed it. They replaced it with a lesser diamond. And that diamond also fell out. I am never doing business with them again. Going back to Mervis. Listen to the people who have posted here. Jess is not a reputable company. read more

The staff there is very nice but I was absolutely shocked and quite frankly appalled at what they charged to put a tiny silver lobster claw clasp on my necklace. $48 +tax.... $51.36!!! Seriously??? I looked later and I could buy 3 of these claps in .925 sterling silver for $5! It took their jeweler all of two minutes to put the clasp on. People wonder why local businesses are going under and it's because they are charging outrageous fees to their local customers. People have learned to find things at better prices elsewhere. By the way.... I've also since heard that they took advantage of my sister-in-law when she sold them some estate jewelry from her mother. NEVER again will I ever go into this store! They didn't even offer to tell me what they thought it was worth. I will never set foot in their store again! read more

After consulting a professional gemologist, I went to this store to see what they would offer for a wedding set. The engagement ring was an appraised diamond solitaire .76 carat S1 diamond and a band with 5 round brilliant cut diamonds .72 TW. The young man asked to take the rings into the other room because his loupe was in his office. That was highly unusual in my experience. He was gone about 5 minutes. When he came back, he offered my $350! I laughed and said, "That's ridiculous." He then proceeded to claim that 3 of the diamonds in the band were chipped. That is false. I have had two independent professionals look at it in the last 2 days, both before and after his claim. The unprofessional attempt to low ball me and then insult my intelligence was one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a self proclaimed fine jeweler. I highly recommend that consumers steer clear of being duped by this establishment. read more

I felt like I was putting him out and I wasn't good enough to be in the store. He told me he wasn't interested in any of my items, which is fine, but he didn't give a reason. While I was waiting to pick up a repair, I asked a gentleman if I could get my engagement ring quickly cleaned. First thing he said when I gave it to him was "You know it's broken". So I asked him where, and he showed me the seam where the ring was sized. I told him No, that's where it was sized, and he huffed off. Really poor impression that they are looking for a problem just to charge you. Staff are super uppity and not friendly at all. And their jewelry wasn't even that impressive. So, I recently stopped by this establishment to get a larger bevel placed on my newly acquired 14k cross pendant. The weight of the entire cross was less than 2 grams (14k gold on this date was slight over 35 dollars per gram). That meant the current bevel on my cross weighed a fraction of a gram. The employee informed that it would cost over 200 dollars to replace the bevel. She told me that the cost of gold was high. I declined, knowing that the replacement bevel most likely had a gold value of about 15 dollars, if that. Labor should not be that much for such a small job. Shameful! Please do not jewelry from this company if you wish to return, upgrade or downgrade, they are very adamant about leaving you in the cold. Especially Darren. My wife's wedding bands were getting to tight on her finger and needed to be removed, cut. A fine older gentleman cut them off. We decided to purchase but were told there was no room for negotiation of the prices. We bought anyway. 2 months later my wife wished to exchange her rings for a new band and ring and were told by Darren to go elsewhere and get 3 appraisals and maybe he would consider an exchange. We went elsewhere and were told by 3 others that the $4000. set we bought was not worth $1500. Darren still wouldn't engage or assist us in another purchase or exchange. I immediately visited them and walked out with a design of exactly what I was looking for and also purchased my fiancée's wedding band. Great prices, wonderful customer service, amazing attention to detail and desire to exceed expectations. The entire team is so nice and great to work with. Ken Alicea helped make my dream ring and saved me from buying a ring out of a storefront case that I would not have been happy with. And their ability to create such beautiful designs in such a short amount of time is impressive! I have been waiting 6 months before writing my review- in hopes the store manager would call me with the ring setting we agreed they would have in store after Valentine's Day rush passed. We are both very disappointed with this business and the store manager. It was recommended to us by a good friend and we hoped to have a good experience. I came in to look at different ring settings and the store manager promised us that they would order many of the round settings after New Years so we would have 2-3 Selections to chose from. I never received a call, and I sent more than 3 emails to check and follow up if the ring settings had been ordered/arrived. I was told 3 months later that one order of round settings was there with my name on it, only 1 random ring setting- which was not the chosen one, as I was promised I would have a selection to chose from. When I came into the store myself to speak to the manager who promised to have a better selection for me after New Years- he told me that 'sorry the company was not buying so many ring settings at this time from their seller' as they already purchased 'what was selling most right now' and would never have the ring setting that I wanted. The store manager offered to 'create' a similar looking peace for me- which I would have to pay for- even if I didn't like the outcome after. We were surprisingly disappointed with Jess Jewelers as we hoped that it would become our local new jewelry store. I would not recommend this store for a newly wed couple as I felt they tried to sell the diamond and not care about the bride to be ring setting and band. When I came into the store 4 months later- the store manager looked at me like I made up the part that they would have a selection of round settings there after New Years- little did he know I had been thinking about my wedding ring since I got engaged!
