La Luna On the Mountain Restaurant - Lemon Garlic Shrimps with Rice, mixed with Grilled Vegetables, Fried Cauliflower and Tomatoes

La Luna On the Mountain Restaurant

La Luna is a Lebanese restaurant with a few different locations in Hamilton. The Mountain location…read more(on Concession Street) had a bright, modern, and casual ambiance. It was quite spacious with lots of tables. Customer service was good and the food was decent. I called to order for pick-up, and the lady who took my order sounded nice, pleasant, and accomodating (was able to customize the Grilled Vegetables to be non-spicy). Order was ready within 30-40 minutes. The Lemon Garlic Shrimps with Rice was very delicious! I could taste the garlic, and it came with a little bit of sliced bell pepper and mushrooms. I liked that the rice was fluffy and seasoned, with some peas and diced carrot. This main dish came with a side (either Lentil Soup or Salad). I chose the House Salad (just iceberg lettuce and tomato); it came in a container all wet and soggy because they had mixed the dressing in. In other places where I've gotten salad for to-go, usually they kept the dressing separate. Cauliflower & Tomatoes and Grilled Vegetables were overcooked (very soft and limpy), and covered with too much tomato sauce. They were still tasty, but I wish they weren't so saucy.

Not worth it at all. Cheap owners and it shows. I was not even given a knife with my food...

When you land in Hammer/ Hamilton at midnight! There's literally no food open. Not even Tim Horton…read more Usually coming home to visit means I've never had to eat out once since Mama would be cooking all things Italian for days.. but this trip was different. That too after 2 years of not seeing my family. In short, I needed food! And this place I found thanks to DoorDash. Yelp isn't popular here and nobody uses it/ add or update it. I ordered while getting a car in airport nervously! I mean they could be closed. No idea where this was etc. Drove up to a popping spot! All men, disco lights and hookahs. I never look so out of place walking in. Food took longer than it said! I waited in my car. But surprisingly, food was delicious!! I ate the salad, hummus before I ate rice and kabob. Like finished it. Refreshingly good 12:30 am meal!! Rice was a little too Al dente. Kabob was good. Over ordered and got a shawarma too which was huge. The Fatoush/ salad with pita chips was bomb.com! So good! I hate chips but this was delicious. Glad I found something based on DoorDash. Definitely a good find since not many places are open this late! Or after midnight on Sunday! $25 CAD for all this food too!

The food was awesome and definitely hit the spot! Give it a try. I ordered kababs with rose and salad. Came with pita bread as well and cost $18.

Shawarma Royale Plus - Beef and Lamb Shawarma on Salad

This…read morelocation is called "Shawarma Royale Plus" meaning it offers both "Shawarma Royale" and "Pinochio Desserts". They had their Grand Opening back in late December and has been fully operational ever since. I really love the restaurant decorations as it gives away home vibes. The owner is very nice and deeply cares about providing great customer experience. We tried both "Beef&Lamb" and "Chicken" shawarma and they were both fresh and tasty. I am a big fan of Kebab (specially on rice) and always make sure to order one. So I tried "Kebab of Rice" and really enjoyed its taste and quality. Parking can be tricky, as there's limited parking spots available in front of the restaurant. But there are extra parking spaces available in the parking lot on the other side of the street.

The restaurant is fairly large, lots of seating to accommodate a busy rush. I tried the Hot and Cheesy queen wrap which is a shawarma wrapped in hot Cheetos. It was pretty decent. I have heard great things about this place but I think I started off trying the wrong item. I had my heart set on trying this particular wrap but they had other menu options that looked much more appealing. I will be going back.

It's About Time is Lebanese food with specialties from Beirut. It's a store front restaurant with…read morea pretty spartan interior. Most of their business is take out although there is room for maybe four people to sit at two counters. The owner was super friendly and accommodating. I asked him to make me a vegetarian plate of mixed salads and falafel while I moved my car. (The lot behind the restaurant doesn't belong to them and you'll get towed!) The pita, humus, babaganoush, papas bravos, and pickled turnips were very good. The standouts: 1. the lightest, airiest falafel I've ever had. If I knew felafel could be this good, I'd order it more often. 2. Rice with cardamum pods. Why have I never had cardmum in rice before? I've eaten at literally dozens of Middle Eastern restaurants, and this was a first. It was a new taste and absolutely raised the bar on the rice. Finally It's about Thyme was a bargain. I think I paid C$15 for an overflowing plate of food plus a bottle of water. The portion was so generous that I took it home and ate the leftovers for lunch the following day. And here's a lagniappe: the restaurant is across the street from the Salem Chapel British Methodist Episcopal Church where Harriet Tubman was a member. St. Catherarines, Ontario was one of the end points for the Underground Railroad.
