Don't ask me why I got this one because I don't know the answer to that myself. The whole thing just tasted like radishes, and I couldn't really taste anything else that was in there. I also saw them adding SUGAR to the smoothies! Not sure if it was mine they were adding it to but why is anyone adding any sugar to a smoothie?! My husband ordered a different smoothie (can't remember which now) and it was way too sweet, so maybe it was his they added the sugar to. Google has definitely deceived me on the tortillas, and I wasted money on smoothies I could have made better myself at home.

Located in a highly industrial area of South Hackensack, and right off of Route 80 is a brick oven bakery called Clemente producing a huge selection of bread, including homemade pizza, focaccia Barese, "sausage bread," zeppole, taralli, biscuits, and friselle Clementini (they're a big wholesaler). The shop also has a ton of prepared food servicing the many office and blue-collar workers in the area; it's an excellent place to have a sandwich made for one. Upon entering as regulars to this local favorite establishment, my partner and I decided on Chicken Cutlet with fresh mozzarella cheese and roasted peppers on a toasted wheat wrap as well as Chicken Salad on a sun-dried tomato wrap for indoor dining. They are not cheap, but one gets what one pays for in terms of taste, freshness, and authenticity. The portions were a healthy size for another meal. Their baked goods appear to be made from scratch by someone. The offerings are not consistent. The catfish is exceptional, for instance, but the short ribs and meatloaf were bland and likely purchased from a cafeteria purveyor which they merely reheat. The collards and cabbage are wonderful but once or twice, too heavily handed with salt. Given the cost of food lately, their prices have risen accordingly. What used to be a relatively reasonably priced, nutritious and satisfying meal may have become only an occasional, rather than regular treat.

The negative reviewers are not lying!…read more Even worse than the unreliable, inconsistent, way over-salted food is the hateful, racial-profiling ownership that made very clear they had no desire to serve us when they saw our ethnicity. "We don't want your business," was actually shouted at us before we exited. We were also defrauded after placing a phone order for two meals at the pricing listed online, having the price verified by the person taking our order ("Hassan"), and even calling back a second time to let "Hassan" know we were running a bit late due to traffic, but still coming. However, upon our arrival, our food order was missing or possibly never even prepared! Instead of offering to make the situation right, the woman identifying herself as the female owner proceeded to literally shout at and talk down to us, believing she had the right to treat customers with flagrant disrespect, as if they were dirt. An atmosphere like Paula's is simply not a safe space, underscoring the need for a higher quality, much more welcoming Southern/Soul Food restaurant in North Jersey.

I was offered the option to wait while they were baked fresh, so I did just that. I ordered 3 individual pies- meat, potato, and apple. They were delicious, flaky, and too much to handle in one sitting (in a good way). I came back 8 hours later to finish the rest and they still tasted good cold. The location itself is small and cute filled with merchandise, and their meat products for purchase. Parking is available on site. Will definitely be making a return.

The traditional roasted pork was excellent, with much of the credit going to the plentiful side items. The potato cake was great; the salad and pink sauce worked well with the meat.
