The guy behind the counter doesn't know the difference between apples and peaches because he weighed them together and stupid me should have said something to him but I didn't. Lesson learned and I will never go back here again. I can go to the farmers market in East Rutherford and get pounds of fruit for less.

This…read morefarmers market is full of fresh produce from many local New Jersey Farms and also has a variety of different vendors selling their wares. So anyway, I made it my business to buy as much produce as I can use in a week from as many different vendors as I could possibly purchase from. And I even splurged on some excellent looking Bison New York strips and some Mexican style Pork chorizo from a local cattle farmer. Which I quickly took home and threw on the grill with some of the vegetables that I purchased. They made for a wonderful Saturday evening dinner and paired perfectly with a bottle of wine that I had. Yummy! I love food & wine!! As for the overall variety of vendors at the market I only have one little complaint. And that is, I wish the market would have had some local cheese vendors and more baked goods like fresh breads. That would have made it the ideal experience for me. But nevertheless, I found myself having a joyful time being lost in all of the available selections of produce. Anyway, I will definitely be coming back to the Montclair Farmers Market as often as I can and you should too! However the store can be a bit of a drag with nikel and diming customers. A sign was posted that the store will be charging $0.10 for the plastic "produce" bags. The ginger is always wet, which is gross. It's usually always busy, checkout is pretty fast. Other than that, it's an okay market.

I love farmers markets! Grand Army Plaza has everything! The vibe is very chill. There's a lot of…read morefoot traffic, but it flows nicely. Prepared food vendors include a couple of Mexican fruit stands and King David Tacos. I recommend the fish tacos. There are at least three or four vendors selling high quality produce, a couple of meat vendors including duck, and farm fresh eggs. There are a couple of bakeries and blended honey from Remsburger's. I've been obsessed with their cranberry honey! They give out samples and even have little pixie stix for the kiddies that are only a quarter. A surefire way to keep eager and excited that kids occupied while you make the rounds, lol. One of the farmers has tons of apples. Surprise , its New York state- but they also have apple cider and cider donuts which you can get plain or sugared. It's best if you go to them when the market first opens. That's when they're actually close to warm and tasty. Otherwise it's just dry and no amount of apple cider is going to help. For entertainment, there's usually a couple of bus game musicians. The last time I went there was a saxophonist and what sounded like a Appalachian fiddling group.
