I LOVE this place. It's a gem smack-dab in the middle of Cliffside Park. The place reminds me a lot of the produce market I used to frequent back when I lived in upper Manhattan. The packaged produce carries the same labels, only it has the "Juno" name. I'm pretty sure they have the same supplier. What I love about this place: * Fresh produce and lots of choices. I've always found it to be fresh. * Packaged fresh fruits, like watermelon cubes and pineapple slices. Those are things I LOVE, but they they are a pain to cut up. * Fresh flowers. * Nice selection of teas. * Yummy beverages. They have the sorts of drinks you'd find at Whole Foods. * Yummy chocolates and sweets. Negative: * The price. They have a $10 minimum on credit cards, but that won't be a problem. Everything is very over priced. I love that this place is so close. When I get homesick for Manhattan, I can just go here.

Small place full of awesome variety. Though it's not open at all hours like some big name groceries, Juno is close to my home, so I tend to come here for quick produce shopping. One minus I would say is the hassle it is to find street parking. To shop here you need extra time to find street parking (a worthy feat in itself) or a get-away driver idling nearby. I normally come equipped with the latter, making grocery shopping a two person job. Though I'm a regular and generally have no trouble frequenting Juno, there's one bad experience I must mention. I came home after shopping at Juno and realized that the cashier had charged me double for an item. It wasn't a costly item, probably only a few dollars, and as a regular I thought I could just go back to the store and be taken at my word. When I went back and told the owner, he refused to acknowledge the mistake. It was a big disappointment since I've been a regular for years. I'm sure such a mistake could happen anywhere, but it think it was handled very poorly by the owner. Honestly after that experience I boycotted Juno for some time. So just a tip, check your receipt twice just to be sure everything is in order.

Flowers went from $20 per dozen to $25. They sure jacked up their prices after the new owners took over.

Juno Market always amazes me with the depth of their inventory. Every time I think, "Surely they don't have THAT! They do!"

I stop in here for quick week night dinners to throw together, or when I forget to pick up some produce item at ShopRite.

Schedule your doctor's appointments for Tuesdays so you can shop at the farmers market afterwards…read more Lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. So glad I was able to try the ginger gold apples this summer. So crisp, like it was just picked!

This is no Union Square Greenmarket, but it is DEFINITELY worth checking out if you're in the CUMC…read morearea. After all, as we all know, there are precious few options for fresh fruits and veggies in the area. :( Red Jacket is up here, which sells a great variety of apples. There's a dairy stand, and I've picked up a pound of fresh ricotta for $5. They also sell a lemon yogurt that has several of my co-workers addicted; I'm afraid to try it. The bread stand plays fun music and sells a wonderful, redolent selection - baguettes, kale asiago breads, tomato onion breads, rustic breads, and so on. You can still pick up potted herbs, and there is a fantastic variety of seasonal vegetables. Currently, the winter squash look pretty awesome. I'm a bit biased because I work with CHALK, but do come check out the CHALK stand! I'm not even selling you anything - just telling you about healthy nutritional habits and giving you opportunities to win greenbucks (money to spend at the Greenmarket on fruits & veggies). :) I also heartily recommend the Greenmarket manager's stand - Kathleen is super sweet, and she makes delicious food for the demos every single week. We had butternut squash pizza yesterday. Some of her past gems include watermelon mint cucumber smoothie, charred pepper salad, and green tomatillo salsa. She has easy and nutritious recipes and a simple, fun lesson every week. Honey, kale, peppers - you name it, she's probably done a highlight of it at some point in time. The Greenmarket runs every Tuesday from 8am-4:30pm until late November. Credit/debit cards are charged an additional $2 to help offset the costs of free fruits & vegetables for EBT holders. (Oooh - if you have EBT, you get $2 in greenbucks for every $5 you spend). So if you don't have EBT, you can either bring cash or donate $2 to EBT when paying via credit/debit.
