I have yet to find any rotten fruit in the display either which is more than I can say for other markets. You won't find everything you want here but you will find quality produce at a convenient location with ok prices. It has the best ever produce section of any grocery store I've been to in the New York City area. They have probably six different kinds of eggplants alone. You can get any kind of tropical fruit, any kind of citrus, any kind of grape, any kind of mango... Truly incredible produce. They also have an amazing seafood section. Live fluke, king crab, razor clams, abalone. They really have it all. If you come on a Saturday or Sunday, they have ladies making kimchi, Bulgogi, samples, fresh fruit samples, roasted sweet potatoes to buy. It's a fun environment to walk around in. The food court is a huge disappointment. But there's a great Korean restaurant named Soram next-door that we often have lunch at. Make sure to also visit D'Avant Bakery next-door and pick up a cube of their chestnut bread.

There are also bins for compost and textile recycling. The small section of Fort Washington between 168th and 169th is lined with a multitude of fruits, vegetables, cheese, baked goods (including vegan), plants, and flowers. I always manage to leave any visit with a shopping back full of goodies for about $10 on average, and the vegetables will usually last me through five days of cooking lunches and dinners for myself. The quality of what I buy there exceeds any grocery store. (As it should.) This may be one of the lil' guys, but this is not a farmer's market to be missed if you're in the area any Tuesday from June though November!
