My one and only go to soondae place. This is the best soondae and the only one I'll get. It's from Ma Young Ae Soon Dae inside Han Nam Korean Mart. I always eat it with tteokbokki and odengguk. It's my winter soul food If you're new to soondae or have been looking for a good one, this is the place. A solid 10/10. Not the most glamorous or trendy market but it has the basics and most things are pretty affordable. There is a Korean bakery, food court, catering, small homes appliance, and beauty shop. I use to frequent this grocery when it first opened but as life got busy we moved for towards delivery for our grocery needs. It's always fun to walk around the store when we have time and see all the new and sale items. They have some really good deals compared to other Korean markets in the area. We also loved to eat at their food court whenever we come to get groceries. Lots of yummy food, great portions and very good value. My friends said next time I go to the Korean spa near here I HAD to drop by this Korean market. She was most excited about the donuts there in the little bakery - legit she was right, it's sooo good. Little bit of cream inside but not too sweet. But she didn't mention any of the other amazing stuff in here! They have a great prepared food section. With hold and cold options. This Supermarket is much more bigger on the inside than it looks outside. The selection has a wide variety of different Korean foods, snacks, houseware and more. Some of the snacks or certain goods we see in HanNam mart can be ones you don't see in other Asian supermarkets and is worth the exploring in the aisles. There is a small food court inside too. When you're driving by on the highway, you need to slow down or you might miss the entrance. Located in a big shopping center with other stores, plenty of parking. read more

I found a staple inside my spicy squid stir-fry from their food court while eating. I almost bit into it, and it could have caused a serious injury if I hadn't noticed it in time. This was an extremely dangerous and shocking experience. I called the restaurant right away. At first, they apologized, but later they called back and suggested that the staple might have fallen in when I opened the paper bag. That's completely unreasonable. the food container was sealed with a lid, and the staple was found inside the food, not on top. There was no way it could have come from me. This kind of carelessness in handling food is unacceptable. Mistakes can happen, but trying to shift the blame onto the customer instead of taking responsibility is truly disappointing. read more

HanNam Mart is a Korean grocery store that I always stop by when I'm in New Jersey. Fruits are always fresh and if you go all the way to the back, you can pick up prepared meals/food to "snack" during your drive. I loved the mammoth sized dumplings, kimbap, and pork katsu. There's also a cafe inside. Unfortunately, the service was a bit slow since they were taking care of everyone else's coffee order before they finally made ours even though we had ordered first. The products they sell is decently priced and much more affordable than NYC. Luckily for me, it hasn't been too crowded when I visit. Service is great and I can see that it can be very busy inside. I was fortunate enough to find parking whenever I visit in the lot. The parking spaces are a bit tight but if it's something you don't mind, you'll be fine. The other customers are friendly and will even offer to take your shopping cart so they can go shopping. read more

Very authentic yet big Korean market with everything from seafood to fruits. I think they have a great selection. The staff is also very helpful when you have questions and they are happy to assist you. The prices seemed reasonable but a bit more than 99 Ranch. I took a star off only because I think they can improve the organization of the stalls and keep some areas a bit cleaner and maybe include English translations for some of the items that had only Korean explanation. read more

This is the spot for your Asian market needs. It has it all, but I mainly come here for the novelty items and rare snacks to feed my cravings. They have numerous locations, but this one seems to be the biggest around. Plenty of parking with a huge lot. Located off of the highway so do not drive too fast or you'll miss the exit. read more

This is a giant bustling Korean mart in the middle of Fort Lee. Always crowded, but you get cheaper prices than NYC H-marts, so if you are buying a ton of stuff, then it is worth the tolls to come. However, the groceries is not the point of this review. Tucked inside this mart is a standalone soondae stand that arguably sells THE best soondae in (probably) the tristate area. A medium can feed 2-3 people and a large can feed 4-5. They really do make it fresh here and it's chopped up when you order, not prepackaged like some places (although you can buy prepackaged ones elsewhere in the mart if you are in a rush.) If you are in the area, buy an extra large for $20 and freeze the leftovers. Worth making the trip from New York just for the soondae. read more

We don't get "kimchi" from Hannam since we have a specific brand of preference, but other than that, this is where we do our grocery shopping after which we pick up fried chicken from Yam Yam across from Wendy's. read more

Avoid the sundae stall in this store. Been here twice and the old ahjjusi that works in the stall screams and YELLS at me to hurry up and order in Korean every time I visit. Extremely rude for no reason. Are we not allowed to look at the menu first to decide what to get?? The ahjumma that works in there with him is nice though. read more

The rest of the supermarket seemed fine though (I guess because everyone hangs out in the produce area). I can't speak for the meat and seafood departments but at least the household item section is cheaper than H-Mart. Kimchi is cheaper here too. I bought a giant bucket of it for $13. First of all they are EXTREMELY RUDE. They said they close at 11pm and we walked in at 10:20pm for grabbing a quick snack. The hispanic employee was LITERALLY CURSING AT US for walking in that time. My boyfriend ofc got upset and talked back to him and he told us to shop asap because they were almost closing down. He wasnt very a good English speaker and I didnt want to get in a big trouble from arguing so I told my boyfriend to lets just ignore and shop fast. We bought these korean konjac jelly as a snack and went to cashier. My boyfriend was complaining how rude the hispanic guy was to the cashier and she didnt seem to care at all. No apology at all. We got home and tried the jelly which tasted good but I noticed darkness at the opening and saw this disgusting black jelly. I searched google and konjac jelly with apple flavor shouldnt be in black color at all. I was soooooo grossed out by their attitude and disgusting food quality. I've been shopping at this grocery store for years. I like this grocery store because it is right across the GW into jersey and sometimes if we need some groceries we just pop right in grab what we need and pop right out and head on home. When you walk in there is a restaurant in the right. Then there is a nice fruit section right in front of you. We usually get the Korean pears because they are big and juicy. The prices on them weren't bad at all depending on which brand you buy. We got a 6 pack of pears for like 12 bucks which is decent. They also sell persimmon as well so if your into those you can get them here. In the back you can also get cooked food. You can get some nice Korean side dishes here to complement your dinner. They also have some good selection of veggies and meats. Definitely you can get your Korean bbq meats here as well. Love this place and we will frequent this place for years to come. read more

I don't often come here for grocery but I am around I pick up seasonal fruits and few korean items that I can't get at a typical shoprite or chinese grocery. I usually get banana milk and korean snacks. There's usually someone preparing fruits for sample which I've only noticed at Korean markets. There is a food vendor and a bakery vendor near the entrance. The food from the food vendor is very affordable and hits the spot. I like the baked good from the bakery but Boo Boo told me its not as good as Paris baguette or tour le tous. read more

Typical Korean supermarket. Located in a strip mall of sorts, right off Rt. 46 east in Fort Lee. They have a big parking lot, they share with the other businesses in the strip mall. The size of this supermarket is relatively big. It's very similar in layout to Hmart supermarkets, which is the more well known Korean supermarket, in this area. Han Nam has most of what your looking for, in terms of Korean items. They have produce, meats, ramen, snacks, ice cream, and veggies. They also have some American items, such as soda, breakfast cereal, and juices/milk. The main reason I come here, instead of going to Hmart, is that the quality of the kalbi (korean ribs), is higher. They have a marinated kalbi station located near the meat shelves, towards the back of the store. Good alternative to Hmart, because of the kalbi. Everything else is pretty much the same, in both items they stock and price. read more

Compared to the other chain (that starts with an H...), the fish/seafood section is smaller, but quality is really quite good and pretty much all of the basic items are covered. The meat section is overwhelmingly large though and I can find just about everything I need here. Also, the prepped food vendor's product is much better as well. I have tried a few different items and all of them were all good. Would recommend the mandoo and soondae from that place. read more

Han Nam Chain is a very adequate New Jersey Korean supermarket. We came here a couple weeks ago and then again this past Labor Day after a trip to H Mart and Mitsuwa both of which are more expensive for Asian staples like rice and noodles. What distinguishes this market from the others also is selection. The short ribs are fresher and cheaper. HNC has become a regular stopover if we want tender short ribs to make kalbi. A new cafe just opened serving rice bowls sushi and appetizers! HNC doesn't compare though to the food court at Mitsuwa (which is worth the trip across the river and toll to have a bowl of Santouka ramen!). All in all, HNC is a good Asian supermarket but not necessarily for lunch. You can say you look around at Mitsuwa and H-Mart but shop at Han Nam Chain! read more

Mgmt at Hannam is unethical. This past Wednesday, we went to our usual H Mart Fort Lee to buy groceries. It was closed because Hurricane Isaias had knocked out power to the store. We ended going to Hannam, our first ever visit. We noticed that certain areas of the refrigerated section were cordoned off. We shopped from the open refrigerated areas. Unfortunately, only until we got home did we discover that the items we purchased were already spoiled including two cartons of soy milk and a bag of bean sprouts. Hannam should not have been selling food that spoiled when the electricity went out. In fact, it's probably illegal to do so. Hannam should've tossed out all its refrigerated food. Instead, it chose to sell spoiled food. Is this the kind of store you want to shop from? I will never go back. read more

This is a good, large Korean store that competes with H-Mart. Has all the stuff that H-Mart has plus a small food court. We go here because it's easier for us to access than the H-Mart in Ridgefield Park. Also less busy: they probably don't have as much stuff as the flagship H-Mart but it's big enough for us and bigger than most other H-Marts. They have a nice packaged Korean food section with kimbap and fried stuff where you have to pay separately. Finding this place when you drive north on Route 46/US Hwy 1 was always a problem before as GPS won't tell you when to make a left. The store is on your left and you have to make that left turn from the left lane. After the turn, you have to go past Extra Space Storage and Wendy's on your right all the way down on Oakdene Avenue, which will bring you to the front of the store. From traveling south on Route 46, no confusion at all. read more

I know Hannam is technically in Fort Lee, but my gut says it's in Pal Park. I'm just so glad that there is a quality Korean supermarket so close to home (authentic k-town, represent!!). The produce is, most of the time, fresh and, most of the time, at a great price. There are such a wide and varying range of authentic Korean products that it's like were actually living in a Korean village in Korea. I also love that the have a fantastic cafeteria and soondae station!!! Hannam has a loyalty program where members receive $10 after buying $1,000 of products over time. I know $1,000 sounds like a lot and $10 is only a 1% reward, but for those whose FAMILY grocery shops here all the forking :) time, it's a pretty sweet deal. read more

This is strictly for the fresh take out food! We stopped here for a quick lunch. In the back of the market, there are tables of freshly prepared Korean food (they were making mandoo and pajeon on premises!) and packaged meals. We got two lunch box sets ($7.99 each): donkatsu and marinated fish. Each came with banchan, kimbap, and complimentary rice. THEY WERE DELICIOUS. The banchan were all well seasoned and well-prepared. The fish was incredibly tender and moist and the marinade complemented the meat and vegetables really well to provide a slightly spicy, yet fresh flavor. They give you huge portions for what you pay- $7.99 for two meals worth of well prepared delicious Korean food! This place is easily my new go to spot for Korean food! This place is awesome! So much better and cheaper then H-Mart and the selection is good. My friend and I accidentally spotted this place while driving and decided to check it out. You'll see a sign out front but note that the market is located all the way in the back part, on the other side of the building. Everything was well organized and their seafood were well priced. So much so that I ended up getting 6 lbs of shrimp. Lol, can you tell I'm about to have a shrimp fiesta! If you're around this area and need to go grocery shopping then this is a place is one not to be missed. I even saw live abalones for $6 each! I remember when H Mart (formerly Han Ah Reum) was the only Korean supermarket in the game. Not anymore! Hannam has definitely improved a ton since they first opened. The layout of the store has improved and they do a good job of keeping everything well stocked. The recently reopened food counter is a huge draw for me and my family. It's affordable, quick and tasty. When we don't feel like cooking, we can take a quick trip to Hannam for some dinner and get grocery shopping done afterwards. Who doesn't love a one stop shop. The location isn't so great. It's in a shopping plaza but it's not very visible from major roads. I think this has hurt business for them and the other shops in the mall in the past. Things seem to have been picking up recently though. It's certainly not as done and as popular up as H Mart but that can be a good thing (less crowds). My favorite grocery store in Fort Lee simply because hands down larger and cleaner than H Mart. Access is annoying due to its location off the highway but parking is plenty and they have a solid food court. If you live in Leonia, Fort Lee area you are probably familiar with H Mart or Shop Rite but you might not necessarily know about Han Nam because they're not in the most accessible and visible location. It's a shame because Han Nam has a really good selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, meats and fish at great prices and maybe a bit cheaper than H-Mart. Han Nam however loses to H-Mart in terms of food court as H-Mart (one if Ridgefield, not Fort Lee) has an excellent food court but Han Nam's really isn't worth a bother. Also, both H-Marts have more convenient locations which is unfortunate for Han Nam but if you don't mind the slight inconvenience you'll get better groceries at a better price. read more
