They took my money now what's the price of my time to track this down yet again? In the future, just skip the special details. Literally the best Jersey Mike's location I've ever been at! They're doing an incredible job at social distancing their customers and having all customers and employees wear masks (employees are wearing gloves as well). I believe they're still operating with both in-door dining and limited seats outside as well as pick-up and delivery options. Good evening, This is so hard for me to write because I love Jersey Mikes. I moved to Va, from Philly 20 years ago, it was so hard for me to find a good Cheese Stake . Then one day there it was JM's. It came my turn to order it was now 8;15 the guy who took my order ask me what I wanted I told him I had a few sandwiches, this was the beginning of my worst experience ever.after I told him the first sandwich I went to order the 2nd when he ask me , there's 2? I said no there's 4 cheesesteaks and 4 hoagies. He rolled his eyes got angry with me said out loud to the guy cooking. It had Onions, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Red Wine Vinegar, Olive Oil Blend, Oregano, Salt, Swiss, Bacon, Mayo, Turkey, Roast Beef. Overall the sandwich was ok. I especially liked the mayonnaise and the red wine vinegar. I didn't enjoy the wheat bread; its texture felt empty and flat if that makes sense, reminded me of breads used by Subway. This was my first time trying Jersey Mike's Subs. I went inside the store, it was clean ambiance very appropriate but the most important staff was professional and friendly. One of the men helped me decide what to order. I ordered #64 Grilled Portabella Mushroom & Swiss, a giant size sub. Amazingly tasty with grilled portabella mushrooms, onions, green bell peppers with Swiss cheese. Just loved it. I'm regular at a different sub chain but I'll definitely go back to Jersey Mike's again. read more

We have been going to this Jersey Mike's for several years. Yes, they have their UPs and DOWNs. Staff changes frequently. However, the last time I was there, I specifically asked for NO green peppers. Well, I was lectured for about five minutes in front of all the other customers. Service is horrible, don't go to this location. Walked in, one guy was waiting for a pickup order that no one was working on. The girl in front of me was also waiting on her order. I stood there for 5 minutes with no one in line in front of me and no one making a sandwich, while the guy at the slicer is fumbling with it and talking to coworker about moving her furniture. We went here today (Friday) around 4:30 and decided to try a cold cut sub. Thus, the reason for the update. Both of us ordered the "Original Italian" sub which consists of provolone, ham, proscuittini, cappacuolo, salami and pepperoni. It comes in 3 sizes: mini, regular and giant. We both got the regular size. In addition, we both got it "Mike's Way". "Mike's Way" is the addition of onions, shredded iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, red wine vinegar, olive oil and spices. My husband had onions on his, mine was onion-free. The 2 guys working at the counter were very friendly and helpful. One sliced the cheese and cold cuts while the other one added the "Mike's Way", then rang us up and gave us our soda cups. The sandwiches were delicious! If you've ever had the BMT at Subway, this sandwich is similar but far, far better! The cold cuts are better tasting at Mike's as is the bread. It was all I could do to keep myself from inhaling it LOL! The "Mike's Way" adds a very nice flavor to the sub. In the spices, I could clearly detect some oregano as well as some salt and pepper. There are other toppings available, For example, you could put jalapenos on your sub. While we were eating, the guy who added "Mike's Way" to our sandwich came over to wash the windows. He asked us how we liked our sandwiches. We told him that now we've had both hot and cold subs and he wanted to know which was our favorite. We told them that they were equally good. He told us that the Franchise owner (I'm paraphrasing here) bought a 5-pack of shops. The first one opened a year ago in Leesburg. It recently celebrated its first anniversary by offering subs at at a steep discount that day and the store was jumping all day. The next one to open will be in Fair Lakes, followed by Manassas then Gainesville. In conclusion, if you have a craving for a sub and can get to a Jersey Mike's, I recommend choosing it over Subway! Now, I don't know what their store policy is or JM's corporate policy when that happens, but they way I see it they didn't have to do that. I walked in looking for a cold sub, but having spent my college years in Philly, I couldn't resist seeing how their cheesesteak (or maybe steak and cheese?) measured up. The meat and the bread - it's always about the bread - were surprisingly good, but there was something overly sweet (peppers?) about the sammich that I wasn't a fan of. Bonus points for being juicy enough to soak the last bite of bread into a delicious sponge of meaty juice. I love when that happens. Shame on them, however, for offering a cheesesteak with mayo! The "Regular" is a perfect size for a meal. I was thinking it wasn't enough food, but then I realized my sense of portion and my ability to control them are seriously broken. It was definitely large enough. They have a much larger "Giant" size that is about four iPhones long (see pic)... whatever that amounts to. Sorry, it's the only thing we could use for comparison and not have the cops called on us for public indecency. I'm told if you eat two within a half hour you get crowned the King of the American Fatties and your picture on the wall. Huzzah! The staff were so happy I wanted to punch them. Pleasant people make me angry. Jersey Mike's doesn't exactly take me back to my college years (maybe 'cause I was sober), but it's a helluva lot better than other choices in the area. Overall I like this place although my husband loooves this place. The staff here have always been friendly and generally I've been able to get in and out relatively quickly. There is a small dining area as well with tables and a TV inside. The place seems to be clean and orderly even if you come and there's a line of people. From the outside, you see a fairly typical looking Jersey Mike's with some outdoor seating, and even on the inside things seem familiar in the way that well-rum franchises do... But once you begin your order and start your meal with that first bite, you realize that this franchisee owner is doing something right. The ingredients are fresh, standard to this sub shop, and it is evident in the taste. Get the hot relish on your sub next time if you like a spicy kick (but opt-out for the vinegar, because that duo becomes too sour) and always ask for extra onions. Those thin slices may launch a full assault on your afternoon breath, but they are delicious. The staff here is noticeably trained to both do their job while working as a team and reach out to customers and spark conversation. The latter seems like it's just awesome employees working at this location, so kudos to the store owner for his recruiting. read more

Finally got around to checking out a Jersey Mike's, and yeah they deliver on the taste! This location is just off of Rt.7 in a plaza, and being relatively close to me, this will be my go-to spot. The inside is kind of small with just a few tables and seats at the front for patrons. I think this is mostly a take-away joint (which I did). Anyway, the service is extremely friendly, polite, and generous. It may take a little bit to get your order going, as the meat slicer is required for basically every cold sandwich order, and they only start prep when a customer orders (the way it should be, IMO). Trust me, the wait is worth its weight in sub delight. I got the classic Italian with everything minus mayo. Man, I can't tell you how nostalgic of a hometown flavor it is to get into that combination of Italian cold cuts, fresh lettuce and tomato, sweet and hot peppers, vinaigrette, and soft but substantial bread to hold it all together. Nothing like it. I know this is a chain, but there is history to it, and there's something to be said for a sub shop that can dish out flavor, consistency, and personalized service every time you step in for a bite. read more

Seriously, Jersey Mike's subs are the best that you are going to get in this area. I used to drive 15 minutes one way out of Charlottesville to get their sandwiches when I was in college, and that is when I was broke as well. They really are THAT good. So, think of this establishment as a Blimpie on steroids where EVERYTHING is super fresh and all of the employees are friendly. When you order a sub, they slice all of the meats and cheeses right in front of you so they are very fresh. The bread is baked fresh, and the roast beef (kiiilllerrr good) is made in the store. Their roast beef sub is one of the best I've ever had in my life, and the beef itself is a bit rare so it isn't cooked to within an inch of its life. Prices are so reasonable that if you choose Subway over this place, you are out of your mind. These subs are also better than Wegmans, believe it or not. #13, #9, #6 are where it is at. Not sure what the rave is all about but perhaps I am a sub snob as my best experiences with what is a "great sub" is Sal, Kris & Charlie's in Astoria NY, The Whitehouse Subs in Atlantic City, and here locally would be The Italian Store in Arlington VA. So one Saturday afternoon we were watching the food network and they had a show about the famous Jersey Mikes from Point Pleasent NJ where it originated in 1956. Now I'm a native of Jersey and I cannot say I heard of Jersey Mike's. After the show we decided to turn off the skeptism and try it since it was down the road. The place itself is like a quiznos, clean, small, assembly line deal. The sandwich makers were however very nice and provided service with a smile. The subs came in kids, regular and big size (forgot the name). I opted for the originial, a super sub and wife got a veggie. Listen, it was a quiznos or subway all dolled up on a saturday night and while it was good, it was not a fantastic sub. They put four full squeeze runs of vinegar and oil and it was so much that the sub tasted like vinegar with some meat. Perhaps one or two runs of that stuff would have been better. "Mike's way" was ok...it's to me the jersey Mike's way of saying the regular on any true Italian sub. My son who is a Italian sub fanatic said it was a 6 out of 10. Listen, this place is much better than your local deli, subway, or want to be new york deli shop, but it is still NOT anywhere in the ball park of The Italian Store (since it is local). I would rather drive to Arlington, so the hunt for another "off the hook" sub shop in the DMV continues....as for now, you will have to travel far and wide for a fantastic sub. read more

They also slice their deli meats right in front of your eyes, which is a really nice touch. I tried the number 9 (club supreme) and it was delicious so the next day I tried it again to make sure it was good and then went back a third day to confirm my suspicions. Make sure you get your subs 'Mike's way' (which is just a fancy way of saying onions, lettuce, tomatoes, vinegar, oil and spices). They can be a little heavy on the oil and vinegar, but the flavor it adds is good (you can always ask them to be a little gentle on the wet ingredients, however) The employees here are top notch. They seem to really care about the type of people they hire. The workers seem to always have a smile on their face and exude a lot of confidence as they work. The sandwiches are more than solid. Even though Subway sandwiches aren't great, I think they are a good barometer for other places, and Jersey Mike's clearly outshines Subway in taste. Where they fall down, and the reason I can't go higher than 3 stars, is in service. They are always friendly, but the place must be the most inefficient fast-food place in the world.
