First things first, so much cross contanimation. The workers use the same gloves for everything: touching meat, touching cheese, touching veggies, etc. In fact I watch them slice cheese on the same machine as the meat. There is no way they can't afford tongs for the veggies. Worse would be they would put a tomato on the sandwich, not like it, take it off, and put it back with the rest of the tomatoes. How has the health department not catch this? Next the sub. I orderded the tuna, and I am impressed that with everything added there was no flavor. How can they make it so bland? Like they added salt and pepper and herbs, and still nothing. Even the bread, which was rosemary and parmesan, had not flavor. I will give them 2 stars for service (everyone was polite and friendly) and the chocolate chip cookie was good.

    Tasteless Chicken Cheesesteak... Mike's Way

I was telling a friend over the weekend that The Cheesesteak Shop in Petaluma closed recently, and I was upset that I drove to Petaluma from Windsor to get one. He told me Jersey Mike's has cheesesteaks, so I went today since I work nearby the SR Ave one... What a total disappointment. Mike's way is suppose to have "spices". My cheesesteak was so bland, and tasteless. This is my first time here, and my sandwich wasn't cut in half, not sure if I need to to ask for that, but no one in front of me asked for it so not sure if this is a thing or not. 1 star for the staff being polite, fast, and having good energy, and 1 star for the bottled water being refreshing.

##13 The Original Italian, no tomatoes. So good!!

I had Jersey Mike's earlier this week for the first time when my office catered in some sandwiches. I had the absolute joy of eating their classic Italian sub and I have thought about that sandwich non-stop ever since!! I went back this afternoon to pick up two for my husband and me. The service was super friendly and I was in and out in no time. Love that they slice all their meats and cheeses right there as they're preparing your sandwich. The bread was delicious and everything was fresh and flavorful. This will definitely be our number one spot for yummy subs!

Absolutely disgusting. This place is filthy

Hubby loves sandwiches and I do not, but sometimes he caves to my food needs and other times I cave to his, and on one of those particular days, we ended up here. I had noted on one day in SR that I saw this going in and we made a mental note of it for the day his sandwich urge came up. When we arrived, there were about 4 people ahead of us in line. First impression was horrible- the ground behind the counter had dirty discarded gloves, food pieces all over, and one of the guys behind the counter was swearing to himself about a customer's order. The people behind the counter were sorely understaffed/undertrained/overly high, and the assembly line was a complete disaster. I watched as the same guy arranged and rearranged a group of 5 or 6 subs and made literally zero progress the entire time we were there. Another guy complained directly to us about another customer's order, and a third guy just kept swearing to himself, but loudly for all of us to hear. Hubby grimaced to me when they said they were out of basically the main parts of their vegetarian sando, so we ended up waiting all that time for just his, and to witness the hot mess that was happening behind the counter. If I were the manager of this location, I'd pull these three and place them squarely in retraining. Also, I'd recommend not coming into work baked, and although we're a military family and have been around a lot of profanity, this is a place lots of folx go, and kids were there, so I'd definitely squash the swearing to a minimum. Overall, I've never been a fan of Jersey Mike's, but this one was hands down the worst location of this chain that I have ever visited. Parking lot was a chaotic mess- getting in there and out of the parking lot is hectic and stressful even at not peak hours. Even though hubby's sando was ok, we watched at least 7 sandos go out that were wrong, and with the lack of hygiene, training, and organization behind the counter, we will definitely be taking our subs and sando business elsewhere. Absolutely terrible.

    Famous philly sub.

This is a new location and since I got some coupons I decided to swing by. I had a coupon for buy 1 sub and get the second one for $2.99. Not a bad deal. I ordered the Turkey and Provolone Sub and the Mike's Famous Philly sub. My hubby liked his Turkey sandwich but my Philly sub was not the best. It did not have the flavor I was looking for, the steak was pretty bland. I have to say the service at this location was good, they also have a drive thru option. The guy that made my sandwich was friendly and did my orders correctly and the cashier was quick and efficient. Location was clean and welcoming and the several tables they had were filled with customers. Jersey Sub in my opinion is a step up from Subway and Togos. Quality is better and I think taste wise too. Enjoy your subs!

It's good fast comfort food. Better than McDee or Carlito but still fast food. Not as good as Panera or Habit.

Best sub sandwich of all the chains. Bread is fresh and soft, juice and on order meats cut are the best.

The place had all the feels of an authentic Italian deli-I could not wait to get my hands on one of these sandwiches. I was torn between going with my usual at any Italian deli which is just a classic Italian but for some reason,I've been on a tri-tip vibe for a while and I saw they had BBQ tri-tip on the menu so I just went with that-I added pepper jack to my sandwich.($17.94) It wasn't very busy when we ordered so the food didn't take long, maybe a 6 or 7 minute wait and our food was in front of us. This deli is interesting in that they do a lot of stuff in-house including homemade chips and we had some-so tasty-great addition to our meal. They also have a pretty extensive freezer section with homemade pastas and sauces that a customer can take home to prepare at a later date. So let's talk about the BBQ tri-tip sandwich. It's always wonderful when you run into a small business that just truly excels at their craft and I feel Canevari Deli is one of those places. They made this sandwich so well, excellent balance of meat, cheese, bread and condiments. It was a job well done. I'm having really good luck lately of finding amazing restaurants that are out of town and unfortunately Canevaris is one of those places-this is the type of place that if it was near me I would go there every week, the people who live in Santa Rosa are quite lucky to have such a great deli so close to them daily. In closing ,if you find yourself in the Santa Rosa area and you want to help support a true local business, stop by Canevaris and enjoy yourself one of their daily offerings-I'm sure it will be a wonderful experience.

I decided to treat myself to lunch. But where? As a woman in my mid-40s, I can't eat crazy heavy lunches anymore. A burger would put me to sleep. And it's 90 degrees outside and something like pho just sounds too hot. I saw Marla SR, a bakery with light breakfast and lunch I had been meaning to check out. It was decided, and off I went. When I walked in, I was still discombobulated by my day, and I looked at the menu confused. Luckily the woman behind the counter pointed out that they have a bigger menu on paper. There were many yummy things, but I went with the breakfast sandwich on an english muffin, and a Cafe au Lait. When the sandwich came, it was a thing of beauty. No literally, the plate looked amazing. (See pic) ...This so instantly put me in a good mood. It was served with charred shisito peppers with a yummy aioli with dill. A perfect freshing accompaniment to the peppers and the sandwich. The egg in the sandwich was more fritata like - very light and bouncy with cheese. As I said, amazing that all those ingredients and it felt light! (Which was perfect for me, as specified previously... my middle-aged woman sensibilities have made me... well, what some people would call, picky. But I prefer to say that I'm a grown-a$$ adult that knows herself. :)) And did I mention the cafe au lait was excellent? Great coffee, foamy milk. ...I was even naughty and put a spoon-full of sugar in it and it tasted amazing. As I sat at my table, with light streaming onto the table, and the beautiful plants artistically strewn around the cafe, I felt at home. A woman came around to ask how everything was. I could feel she genuinely wanted to know. Everyone was really nice. And punk was playing overhead, which just fit the day, as well as the core of me. It made me think of when I was a teenager, how much I would have thought it's cool that I'm sitting at a cafe with punk playing overhead. This is one of those places where you can tell that the owner had a vision, and this place is their dream created into reality. (And I just f'ing love that!) So I will say this was quite pricey for a light lunch. But honestly now adays everything is so expensive I'd rather spend on a nice meal like this every once in a while, than a crappy meal out all of the time. And now I know where I can go when I'm having "one of those days". ...I also got some rye bread to bring home (which you can't find easily anymore), and cookies for the hubs. (Or else he'd be jealous) ...I will be back. ----- Update: The rye bread was to die for!!!! This is the best rye bread I have ever had in my life. It was soft, and the rye is almost floral. It's so unique. Will be coming back for more.
