AMAZING SANDWICHES AND MEATBALLS!!!…read more Family owned and operated and AMAZING people! They knew everyone coming in and if they didn't they got to know you before you left. The sandwiches were so BIG and filled with good quality meats - I could hardly finish mine and I got a regular. My son had a large and it filled him up - which is an accomplishment for a hockey player to be full. We went back the next day and tried more of the menu and enjoyed everything we tried - DEFINITELY try the meatballs if you can! Husband said it was THE BEST ITALIAN that he has EVER had! And that is saying a lot from my husband!

I stopped by Family Delicatessen on a Saturday and ordered the Green Goddess, a vegetarian option with hummus, avocado, apple, and lots of veggies. I will give them credit: they did not skimp on the veggies! However, there was not a whole lot of hummus or avocado so it kind of just tasted like eating veggies on a piece of baguette. A very good piece of baguette, to be fair, but I just wish there had been a little more flavor. The deli itself is very cute with lots of imported Italian foods, like unique pastas and sauces. Service was speedy and super friendly. I definitely need to go back to give them another chance!

Not too much mayo on the Roast beef and I am overwhelmed with the amount of beef that is put into the sandwich. The beef was super tender, very tasty and not bleeding. It's so good to see you get what you pay for here, they put local sub shops to shame. The Italian sub was just as awesome and it was made with generous portions as well. The chili is saturated with beef and has a heat that sneaks up on you. The store is eye pleasing with a variety of groceries including fresh protein, frozen meals, sauce, salads and more. I'll be back with a little bit more cash for something from the shelf. Worth the trip.

Surprisingly Great Pizza and Churros at a Gas Station? Believe It…read more Tucked inside a Shell gas station in Marlborough, Karine's is an unexpected gem delivering way more than you'd ever expect from its humble location. We tried two pizzas and a dessert, and every bite was a pleasant surprise. The pizza crust is a standout--chewy in the best way, with a satisfying texture and flavor that doesn't rely on toppings to carry it. It's not dry or bland like you sometimes get at quick-serve spots; this was clearly crafted with care. The sauce hits a great balance--neither overly sweet nor harshly acidic--providing a smooth, savory backdrop for the toppings. We ordered two varieties: pepperoni and mushroom. The pepperoni itself was average in quality, but it was spread generously and evenly, and the overall composition of the pizza made it work. Nothing felt skimped, and the proportion of crust to topping was spot on. The mushroom pizza was even better--made with fresh mushrooms (not canned!), giving it a noticeably better flavor and texture. We'd absolutely order that one again. And then... the churros. These weren't your standard sugar-dusted fare. They were bite-sized, crispy, and stuffed with caramel--basically little golden miracles. Addictive is an understatement. All of this came at a very affordable price, making Karine's not just a great surprise, but a seriously good value. If you're anywhere near Marlborough, don't let the gas station setting fool you--this place is punching way above its weight. We'll be back.

"When you noodle with a doodlin' song I like it so much,…read moreI'll doodle some more" (Peggy Lee) Were you stumped by the word "Kugel"? Kugel is a traditional Jewish noodle casserole. And that word makes perfect sense as the namesake of this wonderful little Framingham deli. Their menu is loaded with the ethnic delights you'll find in any NY Style Deli - Reuben and Rachel sandwiches, Hot Pastrami, Bagels and Lox, Whitefish Salad, Potato Latkes, Matzoh Ball Soup, Herring, Kishka, Challah French Toast, and yes........... Noodle Kugel. We had checked out their deep menu the day before and knew what we wanted - a Whitefish & Lox Platter ($25) with a choice of Bagel, a choice of cream cheese served with lettuce, onions and tomatoes, and cucumbers. We added an extra bagel for $1.75. Now, I have to tell you that we were incredulous when this huge platter of very reasonably priced platter of food was delivered to our table. I bet there was between a third and a half pound of lox, plenty of vegetable cream cheese, a ramekin of whitefish salad, and a garden of lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, thinly sliced purple onions, and cucumber slices. The bagels were pretty big and were everything you want in a bagel -nice and chewy/crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. We each had one half of our respective bagels with cream cheese, lox, and onions, and the other half with whitefish, lettuce, cucumbers and tomatoes. One customer service caught my eye immediately -those big tomato slices had been carefully trimmed to take out the core. That drives me batshit crazy when a restaurant apathetically doesn't do that. Staying on the customer service theme, our server was very attentive, with plenty of checkbacks and coffee refills. We packed up our leftovers and finished them off the next day. So that fish yielded us four servings. I promise you this....... The next time we are looking for breakfast between Boston and Worcester... I know where we'll end up. We might even get some Kugel at Kugel!
