Great customer service. As a person allergic to wheat I can't usually have a sandwich but I heard Jersey Mike's has gluten-free buns. The server asked about my allergy and changed into new gloves to make my sandwich. It was nice to have an Italian sub for the first time since my pre-allergy days.

It was a great suggestion as my food was very good. We ate on the Smokehouse side (there is a deli side as well that share the space and a unique speciality market as well). I ordered their "2-Meat and 2-Sides" meal, and chose the smoked Prime Beef brisket and pulled pork with scalloped potatoes and baked beans. Many other meats were available. The portions were good but the price was rather high but to be expected for this kind of restaurant. It was all excellent. The brisket was smoked and cooked perfectly and melted in your mouth. It was not too fatty. The pulled pork was great too as were both my sides. It came with three hush puppies about the size of golf balls or slightly larger. There was plenty of seating despite it being very busy. They have a selection of adult beverages and several unique hard liquor drinks that looked interesting but I just had water. I'll eat here again. I would have liked to have explored the market area further but we did not have time.

"Great deli-style sandwiches, from rather hidden location on Chapel Hill Rd"…read more Came by here on a Saturday. This place is REALLY hard to find... it's behind the State Farm building, but there's barely any signage from the street. (Note: some photos here in Yelp seem to be from an older location.) We actually came one Saturday, but it was unexpectedly closed, but we caught them the following one, so good to call and confirm before driving over. You walk up to a door on the back, and scan a QR code to see the menu. Then knock on/ open the door and someone will come to take your order. Then you wait outside and they bring you your sandwiches. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The kitchen was rather large, so I suspect it's used for more than just this business. We ordered two turkey subs-- the East New York (which was slightly spicy) and the Dumbo. Wait time was maybe 7-10 minutes or so. Both sandwiches came nicely wrapped, and I think total cost was a little over $20. And conveniently, they take Apple Pay. These were not your Subway or Quiznos sandwiches-- these were DELICIOUS pressed sandwiches (we got them on focaccia. I personally liked the Dumbo the best-- it had a nice mix of flavors that meshed well. The East New York was solid and had a nice spiciness, but not quite as exciting overall. Would I come back? Probably, but since there's no seating, and it's a bit awkward, maybe not the first place I'd think to try, but again, the sandwiches were REALLY good. I do think it may be excellent for catering or for getting picnic sandwiches though.

Ideals is an institution in Durham... it stays low key... but you cant miss it cause if you drive by when its open.. there is usually a like wrapped around the to the corner and beyond even 30 mins before the doors open. So keep that in mind... I like how they opened up the window a lil more to give a teaser to everyone who is patiently waiting in line and hangry of their works of delicious art! Yes you can see the grill going, the line cooks prepping your sandwich, than being cut and wrapped right infront of you while youre waiting in the long ass line hangry and mouth watering .... its a serious mind FK and tease and love it! lol My go to here is the Chopped Cheese with Garlic Mayo and extra hot peppers .. so damn good! Oh and guess what.. .they make their own bread inhouse and its amazing. Love the little shop they have inside with some hard to find canned seafood items! So if you come here...be prepared to wait inline like a black Friday deal and come semi hungry ... cause these sandos are filling as fuk... but you will be hangry waiting in line

Man, WHAT A SANDWICH! I got the chicken cutlet sandwich with prosciutto (Uncle Primo's Chicken…read moreCutlet), and it absolutely did not disappoint. Easily one of the best sandwiches I've had in a long time!!! The chicken cutlet was delicious, the prosciutto added a great salty flavor, and the whole thing just worked. I would absolutely go back just for this sandwich. The only downside was the wait. We stood in line for about 45 minutes in the heat, and since it's a pretty small spot with no real waiting area, it can be a rough experience during the summer. There also wasn't any shade or any umbrellas, so standing outside for that long was definitely brutal (highly recommend they add a couple umbrellas or covering to help). That said... what a sandwich. The food was good enough that I'd happily come back and wait again. I'd just recommend going on a cooler day or being prepared to stand outside for a while.

The quality of the ingredients is stellar. They bake their bread in house and use boars head meats and cheeses. I love the steak and cheese with just Mayo and grilled onions. The meat is juicy and the cheese is gooey and the grilled onions are perfectly done. My partner gets lettuce and tomato on his sandwich and the veggies are always super fresh. The sandwich, chips, and a drink special is really affordable. Their desserts are also really good. We have had some cheesecakes and the tiramisu. We have yet to try their pizza but we had a calzone before and it was huge and really yummy. Just one of those family ran places full of southern charm where you can tell everything is done with love and that it is such a special part of the community.

For dinner, I had the Johnson Club, onion rings, and sweet tea. The club was and still is one of the best club sandwiches I've ever had. The amount of protein is plentiful, and the addition of the egg puts this over the top. The restaurant is a bakery so the bread used for the sub is soft and fresh. The onion rings were hot, had the perfect amount of crisp and they were not soggy like other places I've been to. Overall, I left with nostalgia and I am definitely looking forward to coming back! Customer Service: Upon arrival, the waitresses welcomed me in and invited me to sit anywhere. I was promptly tended to and my waitress was soooooo friendly!!! It's the southern charm and politeness I miss the most about North Carolina and neighboring areas. Already knowing the sandwich I wanted, I took her advice between the fries and onion rings and she didn't steer me wrong! I appreciate her work ethic and making sure that everyone in the dining room had what they needed and helping a few others (some first timers!) decide on what they wanted. Ambiance: This place is casual, and intimate in a way. It's not a huge space but it's big enough for multiple groups to enjoy lunch or small families to have a sit-in dinner. I highly recommend this place as a stop on any commute between Charlotte and the Research Triangle Area.

That's why it's disappointing to see the prices continue to climb while portions seem to stay the same. My most recent order was 2 pieces of cod, a small side of cole slaw, and 4 steak fries for $15.99 before tax and tip. By the time everything was added, it felt hard to justify the value for what was actually served. I understand food costs are up everywhere, but for a simple meal, the price-to-portion ratio just didn't feel worth it this time. I'll probably still stop in occasionally because I like the market itself, but I do wish they would either adjust portions or reconsider pricing so it feels a little more balanced for regular customers.
