My wife and I stopped in for a bite to eat after a service in the Woodlands on Sunday morning. After perusing their menu which was quite extensive, we decided to split a Klassic Ruben with Sauerkraut and Corned Beef on Rye. Wow! We were so delighted with our meal! This Ruben was just dripping with deliciousness. Just as good as we would have gotten in Palm Springs, Hollywood or New York. And the fries were nothing to sneeze at either. Hot, fresh and crispy. Just how I like them. Coupled with our Long Island Express and Beringer Red Sangria, we were two very happy dinners. The service at Katz's was just as good as the food. Brian was prompt and extremely professional. We did return a week later and both enjoyed a meal a half pastrami and corned beef and my wife a Philly Cheesesteak both with Tomato Basil soup. Again, another outstanding meal. There were so many delicious items to choose from on their menu we can't wait to return to try their breakfast selection, their dinner/main features and some of their fabulous looking deserts. Katz Deli looks to us to be a Jewish style deli with a touch of Texas/Southern/Cajun flavor. Katz is a small chain in the Houston area and I tend to avoid chain restaurants, but Katz Deli got it right and we are eagerly awaiting our next visit.

I've probably considered going approximately 137 times, but just like Chick Fila, I'd say 90% I am craving it on a Sunday, when they are not open. But finally, the stars aligned, and after running some errands at the mall, we stopped in here. Again, why did I wait so long. 1. The cost: hilariously low. 2. The wait time: virtually none. 3. The quality: excellent. It's incredibly rare to get two of those in one place, let alone all three. But we truly loved every single thing we tried. I ordered a double cheeseburger and potato salad. Both awesome. My wife ordered the ham and cheese sandwich. Despite loving the first couple bites of my burger, when I tried hers, I couldn't figure out which one I enjoyed more. Even our son's chicken tenders and fries were both excellent. Going in here is like going back in time - in terms of what it looks like, and the total on your bill. Absolutely Fantastic!…read more I'm visiting the Conroe, Texas area from Seattle and had heard so much about Chicken Salad Chick on social media, so I knew I had to give it a try. She took the time to explain everything, helped me figure out exactly what to order, and she did an amazing job with her recommendations. Everything I tried was fresh, delicious, and so good! I finally had a chance to try Chicken Salad Chick after seeing it all over social media and TikTok,…read moreand I was honestly really excited to finally try it for myself. Unfortunately, I left pretty underwhelmed. First of all, the side portions are TINY. Like, seriously tiny. I got the two scoop meal with the Kicking Kay Lynne and the pimento cheese scoop. I don't know why looking at the menu I thought that the pimento cheese was a pimento cheese chicken salad, but it turned out to just be a very sticky blob of pimento cheese. That was definitely my misunderstanding, but it was still disappointing because I was expecting something completely different. The Kicking Kay Lynne chicken salad was good. I enjoyed it, but honestly, it wasn't anything mind blowing. After seeing so many people rave about it on TikTok, I expected something that was going to make me understand all the hype immediately. I also tried the grape salad because everyone online seems to act like it's life changing. Maybe my expectations were just way too high, but I really didn't see what all the excitement was about. The grapes weren't nearly as crisp as everyone makes them sound, and overall it just didn't impress me. The broccoli salad was good, but here's the funny part: it tastes almost exactly like the broccoli bacon salad I buy at Costco. So again, good, but definitely not something I would consider special. Overall, nothing I tried was bad. I just think TikTok had me expecting a much more exciting experience than what I actually got. The food was decent, but for me, it didn't live up to the hype at all. Maybe I'll try a few other chicken salad flavors another time, but based on this first visit, I'm not rushing back.
