    A quick bite to eat
    Debbie F.

It's just ok but with the delicious Capriotti's so close, I will choose the latter. The cheesesteak was rather ordinary except the delicious Parmesan Rosemary bread. The most disappointing part of this location was the lack of cleanliness. The ice tea urn was crusty and cruddy along the top. The station where they add veggies to the subs was in disarray. It is unlikely that I will return. There were several customers without masks and the place was filled to capacity.

I will never eat at Subway again and you shouldn't either! The sub sandwiches here are amazing and should always be done "Mike's Way". The ingredients for the toppings on the sandwich are so fresh and the pickles are sliced nice and thick! They shave the meat as you order your food, how much more freshness can you ask for?! When you have a choice, seek out Jersey Mike's!

Ordered in some Jersey Mike's. The bread was fresh and the toppings plentiful. Definitely hit the spot. I shared the Italian with my daughter, my husband enjoyed the club, and my other daughter had the turkey.

2nd time if been to a Jersey Mike's, had the club supreme. It was delicious! Meats at cut in front of you and veggies and toppings taste fresh, especially the pickles. Sandwich's are a little pricier than other chains, but quality of food and taste are totally worth it. Large club supreme is 13.95, out portion is huge. Staff made sandwiches quickly and plenty of help that keeps the line moving.

Giant #17 (Jersey Mike's Famous Philly) no peppers, add mushrooms, on white.

Stopped by Jersey Mike's to check out their cheesesteak action... Yes it's a chain, but it was a chapter on this subject that I had to put behind me at some point... This was the first time I'd visited JM's, but I browsed the menu online before I headed that direction. The web order option is there; if you do this it appears that you can proceed directly to the register to pay and skip the line. From what I saw it looked like guys were picking their to-go orders up immediately on arrival so it's not like Blaze who wait to cook your order after you show up. The Clive location is similar to a Subway. Get in the line...order at the first stop, go through the assembly line, and pay when you get to the end. If you order a cheesesteak they give you the ticket right after you order and you can jump past everyone to pay...if you don't want to stand behind them and wait. There was a choice of both bottled or fountain drinks...they appear to use Pepsi as a vendor. Seating was about the same as a Subway. A few booths and a few tables... It was straight up Noon and they were filling up fast. I opted to take my sandwich to-go. I got the giant #17 (Jersey Mike's Famous Philly) no peppers, and add mushrooms on white. I grabbed a Coke from the machine once I got back to the office. The total was $13 and change for just the sandwich. It's a big sandwich. I probably would have been just fine with the regular size for lunch. I forced myself to eat it all anyway...and now I could really use a nap. Thank God there were no sides. Customer service-wise everything was fine. The kid at the grill did a good job. I was watching him from down by the register and he handled everything well. I liked that he picked up the contents and placed them into the bun and then did a quick pass over the grill with his spatula to pick up the remaining meat etc and sprinkled that loosely over the cheese on the sandwich. The beef has good flavor...so did the onions and mushrooms. Tasted fresh. It was seasoned minimally so there was no overly salty taste...just the flavor of beef and cheese for the most part. They use white American cheese which is a good choice with the cheesesteak. No wiz...and depending on who you talk to they're going to tell you this is a deal breaker. I can tell you that when I was stationed in Philadelphia I saw more cheesesteaks served with white American cheese than anything else. The bun... This is the only place Jersey Mike's loses points with me. It tasted good and fresh too, but they use a very soft roll. I was actually surprised at how soft it was. The "giant" is probably close to 14 inches long and sliced in half... I found myself eating very fast because I was afraid the second part was going to get soggy and turn into a disaster to eat. And eating fast is probably why I feel as miserable as I do right now... So. Much. Food. I was partially right, the second half was definitely wetter than the first half, but not near the nightmare I had envisioned it being. A solid effort... Like I said the only place I can really knock them on is the bun. And that's not on taste, more just from an integrity of the sandwich aspect. If I could take the regular sized version of this sandwich to PepperJax and get their fries and the mushroom sauce... I'd be a happy camper. Bang for the buck. I think a "giant" could feed two normal people so $13ish really isn't too bad. Just don't be stupid like me if you have to go back to work. Ugh. Just get the regular and some chips... The regular sized cheesesteak is around $9ish. Pricing varies by location so if you want to check out the local pricing go to their web site and go through the motions of a web order. Once you choose the location the web site will give you the pricing specific to that location in the cart.

We were just here a few weeks ago and I am so bummed to see they permanently closed!! We came during lunch and took advantage of their weekday lunch combo (Tues-Fri, 11am-2pm), which includes soup and a half grilled cheese. You can choose from the OG, Kick in the Cheese, or Fancy grilled cheese, plus either tomato basil bisque or the soup of the day. Honestly? A dream setup. I ordered the tomato basil bisque with a half OG grilled cheese, and wow... just wow. The soup was rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced, and the grilled cheese delivered that classic, beautiful cheese pull moment you hope for (and rarely actually get). The cheese had the perfect amount of sharpness and subtle bitterness, balancing everything out so well without being overwhelming.. I seriously could go for one right now! Every bite was comforting and delicious, and I immediately wished I had ordered a full OG sandwich because it was that good. The combo was mouth‑watering, satisfying, and wildly exceeded expectations for a quick lunch stop.

I also enjoyed their homemade soup and their cookies.

We were driving through from Colorado back to Minnesota and did everything right: ordered online a full 30 minutes ahead so we could just swing in and pick up. We arrive, my sister (who also ordered ahead online) is already walking out with her food. My brother orders in-person right when we get there, and his sandwich--plus two other walk-in customers' orders--come out before ours even starts being made. We ended up waiting over another 30 minutes. More than an hour total from when we placed the order. What is the point of online ordering if the system doesn't hold your spot in line and just lets in-store orders and later arrivals jump ahead of you? It completely defeats the whole purpose. Still... those sandwiches really were exceptional. Almost worth the headache.

They've got wide selections of sandwiches and honestly, you can't go wrong with any of them. The Manhattan is my go-to (Corned Beef, Ham, Salami, Coleslaw & Swiss with Mustard, Mayo & Pickle on an Onion Bun) but I always sub the onion bun out for a hero bun. Every flavor works well with each other, the coleslaw is sweet and contrasts well with the saltiness of the meats, the crunch from the pickle, and finally the mustard cuts into all of them for a beautiful clash of senses in your mouth. Other sandwich pictured is their Tuesday, it's a daily special sandwich you can get on any day. The special pricing won't apply if you get it on another day obviously. The Tuesday was hearty and the cheese on top of it was seasoned well. The peanut butter brownie, very decadent! I don't even like brownies but I always try to snag this one whenever I'm here! Service here is always prompt and helpful. The ambiance does a great job at pulling on the community aspect you feel at your local corner store in NYC.

Whoever is at the front desk should proactively greet each person and ask "dining in or to go?" Instead the lady waited for me and the next person to takk with her first. Then she asked if we knew what we wanted. If they fix this, your answer should be "to go". While the ambiance is lovely, the fact they make you buy bottles of drinks instead of having cups of water or other drinks available really decreases the value of sitting in and cheapens the experience. The restaurant ambiance is also marred by all the items for sale like a local market. Perhaps it makes it feel more genuine, but definitely makes it feel less fine dining. That and the music gets interrupted by what is likely alarms or timers on the phone playing music. Perhaps it shouldn't be thought of as fine dining, and more of a foreign family diner. The service was nearly non-existent. As mentioned before you had to proactively ask how things worked, there were no refills as it's just bottles ... and the bottles just sit in a fridge. Outside of that she sat at the front desk on her phone, though she did ask how everything was... once... after we got it. She also thanked us for coming when we left. It took about 10 minutes to get food... not bad since the food seemed fresh. That said the food was good enough. I've had better chicken shawarmas, but nothing tasted bad. It's slightly above average experience hence the rating. I wouldn't go so far as to say you must try this place, but I wouldn't say don't come here either. I hope they improve the experience over time. This review is meant as constructive criticism.
