The evaluators had fairly high praise for Steak and Shake and in particular loved the Frisco Melt. So I was hankering to try it again. Took my kids on a Friday late lunch. They both ordered chicken fingers kids meals with a Reese's shake and an Oreo and M&M shake. I had the Frisco Melt minus Swiss cheese. We all had the vaunted beef tallow fries. As others have stated there's really near zero customer service. You order at a kiosk, get your own drink and await the call of a number. Things look made to order but you'll wait a little as a result. The food was good but not great. The fires had a good flavor and plenty of salt but they're too thin. Almost like potato sticks. They'd be much better if they were comparable to McDonald's size. The Frisco Melt was tasty but it wasn't the end all be all from that video. The Frisco sauce it self seemed more sweet than savory. The kids liked their food but I don't think that was overly special. The only real plus was the price point seemed lower than I'd anticipate. We got everything for about $26 and my meal deal was just less than $10. Sorry, I'm not tipping when I'm not even interacting with a person. I'd been to Steak and Shake maybe once or twice before in different places. Never made me have to go back. This one continued the trend.

I got the brisket which was the real reason I stopped in on this day, the teriyaki chicken, and orange chicken. I loved the brisket the first time and never got a chance to stop in again, so when I saw they brought it back online, I ran back over here. It is so flavorful and tender and I like the portion size. You can really never go wrong with the iconic orange chicken. And I think their teriyaki chicken is underrated. I rarely get it when I am just getting my own plate, but it really completes the meal by getting the family size portions. I also got two noodles because I love their chewy noodles. I also decided to pick up a bunch of other sides. I got their rice, it was a bit bland this time and their super greens because I had never tried them before. The greens were okay, they needed some salt and then they tasted really good. I would probably not get the greens on a small plate, but for a family meal, I would to add some veg. I also got two orders of spring rolls and two orders of wantons, those are always terrific. Needless to say all of the food feeds the amount of people stated in the meal deal and beyond. So good, I would come back to this location again. They were friendly and efficient.

Today I managed a measley 7 shrimp with an upcharge because the lady gave me half a scoop. When the guy gives a full scoop + a few extra to the person before, it infuriates me. I'm done. You've raised the prices, what used to be $12 for my meal now costs $15. And the proportions have gone down. I've noticed the proportions are only trash during dinner time 5-7pm. Why? If you guys are running out of food during dinner rush hour, maybe make more food instead of skipping us out on our food with terrible proportions. We are humans too. We are struggling too. If it were your plate, you'd want more food. Now put yourself in our shoes. As a huge customer, I'm about to quit coming. Congrats.

I love the crispy edges of the burger, it is always so fresh and delicious. I love their fries, they are crispy and delicious. I cannot come here without getting those cheese curds and maybe a side of ranch. I never know if I like the white or the orange ones better. My favorite sundae hands down is always the cashew caramel, they put so many toppings in it, it is fabulous every time. Last time we came, a few weeks ago, I got their flavor of the day, chocolate with chocolate cake, so amazing add cookie dough and so did my child. We also order so many other things. I love their chicken sandwiches, heavily underrated. Their tenders are not bad. I love the fish and chips so much. My other child just got the pork chop sando, this place is really like a sit down restaurant in disguise of fast food. I could see them having a sit down version of this place somewhere. I always know someone working here, since I am always in the area, and we always come here before seeing a show, it is a tradition. We like the vibe, the service, and the ambiance. The girl who took my order was very kind and asked if I had any other questions because it was my first time there. I ended up getting a classic angus beef slider (beef, cheese, tomato, lettuce, pickle, Mayo, and ketchup) as well as the Boomin' Chicken slider (fried chicken, pickles, lettuce, boom sauce). They were pretty good--there was a bit too much sauce on the chicken one but I did prefer that over the beef. The cheesy curds with boom sauce were good, but honestly not as good as the sriracha ones from A&W in the food court. Overall I think it's a bit overpriced for what you get, but still very tasty!
