Jersey Mike's is my absolute favorite place to get sub sandwiches! However, the employees here need some lessons in task management... my wife and I were asked several repeat questions regarding our order. This isn't a problem in most situations, but when the employees are carrying on conversations with each other rather than paying attention to the order... orders are made wrong, questions are repeated, things are dropped, and orders are checked out improperly. The employee making the sandwiches would continuously move onto another customer, questioning them about their order, before completing the first order. This lead to wrong ingredients being placed on the wrong subs, or in our case, bacon being left off of our club sandwiches. To their defense, the two ladies working the sandwich line received zero help from what appeared to be a manager waltzing about the store carelessly.

Jersey mikes a good tasting made to order sub sandwich. I am sure there are better subs in the area. But, Jersey Mikes is close and quick.

Not busy... 27 minutes for one Famous Philly, not worth my time, spend your money elsewhere!

The food has always been good. Portion size is on the "thin" side. Prices are a bit too high imo but overall a damn good place to eat.

(4.25) O'Brien's is the kind of classic deli every city…read moreshould have. It's a small space - a few tables inside and a few tables out - but don't let that or the line you are likely to encounter deter you. They crank out sandwiches quickly here. Said sandwiches include about two dozen hot and cold offerings as well as the ability to build your own. The meats are Boar's Head, but the desserts and soups are made fresh in-house. Check out the display case for salads and sides that might catch your eye. O'Brien's prides itself on its Reuben, and so I went with the "mini" version (a quarter rather than a half pound of meat) with a pickle for my first visit here. Ordering at the register was a breeze, and I was fortunate enough to snag one of the tables for dine-in. Though I was a bit skeptical that the Reuben would match the hype, it delivered. I don't know that it is without a doubt the best version I've had, but it is definitely up there. The grilled rye was nice and crisp, and I appreciated that they used both mustard and Russian dressing. That, plus the meat, kraut, and melty cheese, made for a very satisfying bite. At $10, the sandwich proved a good value, too. Unpretentious and nostalgically comforting (for Northern transplants, at least), O'Brien's is a well-oiled sandwich-slinging machine. Though that Reuben will be hard to top, I look forward to giving one of their other offerings (maybe a Cuban, maybe a Spicy Italian) a try.

Death, Taxes, and the classic Reuben from O'Briens Deli. All certainties, but only one of them…read moreenjoyable. When anyone asks me where to find the best reuben in Winston, I tell them go to the place that proudly proclaims in their window that they are "The Home of the Reuben" and can back it up... O'Briens! It's a small place, a few outdoor tables, and probably 6-8 inside. They do a lot of to-go business, for good reason. The lunch crowd will never shy away from a sandwich here... of which I have had several. But the reuben indeed stands alone. One of the keys to their success is a happy and engaged staff. The owner, Josh, realizes this and takes great care of them. He believes his success should also be theirs, and that is evident in their demeanor. On to the Reuben. Why is it so good? The pictures really say it all. Corned beef stacked high, with a good ratio of kraut, swiss cheese, deli mustard, and grilled Jewish rye bread. Visually impressive, leads perfectly into orally outstanding. You'll be full and happy, and wondering why you'd order it anywhere else. Not to mention, check them out around St. Patrick's day for traditional Irish stew!
