Plus they restored an early 1960's men's dresser from one in terrible shape into a beautiful piece of furniture I use everyday now and just love looking at. Unfortunately never had any discussion about options and what coating would work best for what i want as well as pros/cons of different polyurethanes. A crew showed up, got right to work and left. After a couple days i noticed imperfections in a couple of the rooms so i reached back out to them. They were very quick to respond and sent the crew out the same day, they inspected the floors and ended up doing another coat at no cost. Floors came out great. Just wish there was a little more communication/information, but i would recommend them.

The tub looked dull and grainy; almost had an orange-peel look in areas. This last visit, they charged almost $500 to repair the numerous bare areas that they created in previous attempts! Since then, he's expanded his service offerings to include some additional services. He and his crew replaced outlets, light switches, and ceiling lights. The painting and electrical work was top notch. The crew did a great job of fixing any imperfections in the walls before painting and the painting was great and the cleanup was also excellent. This is the 2nd time that I've used Al's and I highly recommend them for painting and/or other services.

He also can identify good furniture and explains what you can expect when the piece is refinished. If you have an heirloom piece of furniture that you love they will surely bring it back to life. The tables that I had restored at Heirloom Refinishing had original leather tops. The leather could not be restored, but Carlos came up with a lovely alternative in the staining process once the leather was removed. All the tables were checked for damage and repaired, stripped, stained and the hardware refurbished. When the pieces were finished they delivered them, which was included in the charge. I believe they will pick up also. It took quite a few months and is expensive, but it was worth it. My tables probably look very much as they did when they were in my grandparents' and parents' homes years and years ago. I appreciate their knowledge and impeccable work. I highly recommend Heirloom Refinishing.

Essentially, mediocrity seems to be OK with the resulting work. But given it was double the price of most other estimates, I expected that oversight, attention to detail.
