We were in the area and decided to go back and try this place again. The experience this time around was quite different but they definitely need to adjust their staff. One waitress and most of the tables had at least one person seated, some parties larger than others. The difference this time was that no matter how busy she got...she always came by our table to check in. How's it going, do we need anything etc. I didn't have to flag her down or try to make eye contact it's like she could read my mind. The food was better, potatoes were still a little bland but not as dry as last time. My son got the kids breakfast burrito and the size was decent. This was my husband and I first time we had visited this place to eat breakfast ...the restaurant was very nice and clean...our waitress Paz was amazing....she was friendly and very personable, and kept checking back on us and refilling my husbands coffee cup. Amazing food and service... we go often for breakfast and always experience great food and amazing customer service.

The large server is extremely rude!! Let me start by saying my family of 5 is mixed and we waited over 50 mins and still didn't receive our meal. The men of four who walked in 10 mins after we ORDERED was served before us! We ordered basics, a salad, fries and pancakes for the kids. When I respectfully got the servers attention when she was scrolling on her phone she had a nerve to ask me if I needed something from across the restaurant. Horrible customer service. As soon as we got up to the front to leave and pay for what we were served ($17 dollars for 2 coffee and 2 hot chocolates !) she had the nerve to say it's done now. And wanted me to pay for it to go. Excellent diner fare!!! Visiting family in hesperia and positive reviews led is to visit here and it did not disappoint. Prices are unbeatable as far as portion size and quality are concerned. Omelets are 5 eggs! I had the "JERRY'S OMELETTE" and it was delicious. The pork chili verde was flavorful as well. They also take extra special care and precision in their side dishes as well. The home fries were seasoned well and cooked perfect and the biscuits and gravy were awesome as well. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. While visiting Hesperia for a baseball tournament we were looking for a place to eat and followed the Yelp recommendations and visited Jerry's Cafe. My son had chicken fried steak and I upon recommendation and despite what I usually order I ordered the Chile Verde burrito that was absolutely amazing and everything and more of what I needed for that long day. read more

Food is good but I will say I'm disappointed when went went there for breakfast we are a family of six. We were charged 18% for gratuity for being a large party. The gratuity was almost $19 more than any of our breakfast. Also was not aware that they charged that until our bill came. Coffee is not that great and comes in a small cup. read more

We tried Jerry's for the first time today after living in the area for 15+ years. And I'm glad we did! It's a small place but seats more than you'd think. Service was great! Everyone had a smile and was willing to help with filling a coffee cup or grabbing us extra napkins. The food was hot and delicious and came out super fast! This restaurant location has changed owners and names way too many times and seems to be jinxed. When we found out it was a new type of restaurant, we were excited to try it out. We've been going off and on ever since they first opened. Love their food, portions and prices. Not the best of service, but no where near the worse. I would have given them at least a 4 star up until this past Saturday. Hubby and I went for an early lunch. It was almost full to capacity except for 3 tables. We sat down as well as a couple of gentlemen at a separate table who came in after us. Servers apparently knew them and they received service first. Whatever, I'm just hungry! Hubby is finally able to order a menudo w/ pata and I order a club melt w/ onion rings. I noticed on the menu it didn't mention having pickles in the sandwich ( note- I love pickles in my sandwiches and burgers. Won't taste good to me without it). So I requested pickles added in my sandwich. She asked if it was okay on the side. I didn't want to make a big deal out of it, so I said thats fine. Received our food, decent serving and flavors. I received a mini bowl full of pickles. It looked to have approximately 15 pickles. I though I was in pickle Heaven! I was able to take half my sandwich home with some onion rings, because I was soooo full. Now, you may be asking why the reason is I've given a lower star rating. The reason is I was charged $1.99+tax for the pickles. I know...I know...it doesn't seem like much. Its the principle. I was never informed verbally or in writing on the menu that there was an extra charge. For a couple dollars more, I could have run next door to Cardenas Market and get a jar of pickles ( no, I would never do this. I'm trying to make a point). I'll probably go back, I'm just hoping they are better at disclosing extra charged. This type of trickery is what makes me not trust an establishment. read more

I would've given this place a much better review if it hadn't been for the service. The food is pretty good. Huge portions. But the waitress never refilled our drinks once or even returned after the food was served. Then as soon as we had paid the tab and she's still standing there holding the credit card slip, she immediately told us we needed to leave bc she needed the table. There was ONE couple waiting and two other tables were getting to leave as well. I don't know if it's because we had someone in our party who was the only African American in the restaurant (I certainly hope that wasn't it, but I looked around bc I was shocked at the abruptness to only us) or if it's because we're not "regulars" since this place has that kind of feel. The pictures I've seen other reviewers post made the food seem unappetizing--maybe it was just dull lighting and old cameras, but this place really surprised me! My server was super kind and attentive to our table. The food came out fairly quick! The home fries are absolutely delicious and are cooked with bell peppers and onions. I got the polish sausage and eggs. The sausage tasted smokey and sweet. It was such a great combo. The eggs were perfect, and my meal even came with a side! It was a lot of food for a great price! I'm from LA and my mom took me here , said it was the best in town and she probably meant the best in general because it was so good. Literally everything had an extra home cooked country feel to it. The portions are really big and the service was really good. I think my waitresses name was Georgia. It was so nice to have a warm and attentive waitress. She handled all customers with ease and quickly without running around everywhere making the environment really peaceful. This place was packed, only one table inside available. So we assumed this place must be delicious! We were placing an order to go and in a hurry. The young blonde took our two separate orders, ran our cards, then told us we are in the middle of serving a party so it's going to be a 30 minute wait. We requested a refund and she talked in circles about refunding us and promised the order to be ready by 3:15. We said fine but we have to leave at 3:15pm At 3:15 she was bagging our orders and sodas were filled, then she sent one of the orders back. She acknowledged us and says your order is ready then said well these two are, we are out of pastrami. So our response was in the 17mins you had us waiting you couldn't tell us that and given us the opportunity to order place an order for something else. She said she is trying to work with us and accommodate us. We requested a refund, she said well I'm trying to work with you, you can order something else. We explained once again we were in a hurry and couldn't wait for another order. We just want a refund so we can go. The middle aged waitress, said no worries we will refund you 100% and you can can have these two meals. We confirmed 100%? She said yes! The younger blonde lady said no I'm only refunding 50% of the order but she only refunded the missing the pastrami. We didn't want the other food since we weren't able to all eat together but she wouldn't refund us even after the woman told us and her co-worker 100% refund! Recap 1. After seeing great reviews we decided to give this place a go. We ordered for takeout because we're still in the middle of a pandemic, but it's essential to support local business. Jerry's Café did not disappoint! We ordered stuffed French toast, chile verde omelette, Jerry's omelette and a breakfast burrito. Portion sizes were large and filling. I was really surprised how good the gravy was considering I grew up with homemade biscuits and gravy. The real star was the chile verde. Not too spicy and full of flavor. We will keep Jerry's in regular rotation and will be ordering some lunch items next time. read more
