A regulation softballl court with a resident Osprey nest watching over the games. A dog park area for running and playing. A wonderful kids area with tons of activities for the kids. There are also high screened courts that may have been for tennis but now maybe pickleball. A nice biking/jogging trail through the park that leads to a continued paved trail beside a tarpon Canal for a good stretch. But the highlight for me was the huge mural on the sidewalk at the entrance by Noelle Jordan Stillwell, Floridian artist. Beautifully drawn Florida Butterñues and Flowers. What a neat way to welcome people into the park. Plenty of parking by entrance. Open Dawn until 9 PM. Check it out.

So many different shady spots whether it's because of the trees or canopies or coveted playgrounds. My 4month old was in her car seat the whole time so I just switched her from one shady spot to another as the older two played. So many different things to play, climb and interact it. Plenty of benches / seating area for adults to sit at. I didn't need to use the bathroom but it is right in the playground which is also helpful. Will 100% be going back.

We had the pleasure of attending this park for the first time via invitation to a 6 year olds birthday party! North City Park has 3 different age levels of kids playground equipment including 8 slides, 2 rock climbing walls, 3 kinds of swings, 1 large covered picnic shelter with 6 tables for parties, 1 basketball court, a multi-purpose field with 2 back stops, 2 tennis courts, 1 horseshoe pit, and surprisingly clean restrooms. North City Park has a nice walking trail that winds across the park's whopping 9 acres. There is a mini public library stand with the "take a book, leave a book" option. There is plenty of parking and lots of trees that provide patrons with plenty of shade. North City Park's facilities managed to keep over 25 5 year olds and 6 year olds entertained and moving around for over a half hour without surfing YouTube on their tablets, so I have to say the park was a success! If you're in the Safety Harbor area and looking for a nice playground, to play basketball, to play pickleball, or to play tennis, I recommend that you check out North City Park!

I had to say, but what homeless person would be able to find this place? We literally live ten minutes away and never knew this park was here. It's a great hidden gem that I bet the surrounding neighborhood loves (and I apologize to residents of this surrounding neighborhood for highlighting their hidden park.) The walking trail isn't super long, but it is a nice lap. I was going to time how long it took us to walk around it, but it started raining on us! I would hazard a guess at about ten minutes (take into consideration that my husband is a slow walker. I often refer to him at Baymax). There are also weight machines, which is pretty cool. I didn't get to use it since, rain, but I want to go back to test them out. There were a couple kids on the playground and one guy playing basketball. I can't say how crowded it normally is since everyone else probably took note of the incoming storm. Honestly, I like this park and will add it to our walking rotation.

"Discovering" this new (to me!!) hidden gem illustrates why as much as I'm turning into a "lone…read morewolf" these days (or so it seems...) every now and then, ESPECIALLY when you're spending time with locals, it PAYS to follow their lead and go where they suggest. My SIL has lived in the area for years, and knowing how much I love exploring nature near and far, she recommended a visit to this gem of a park only 10-15 minutes from her home. PERFECT choice!! We didn't have a ton of time, but squeezed in a FINE early morning walk around the lake, and I confess I slowed her down taking TONS of pictures (as usual...) because even though it's far from "wilderness," it's a great spot to see lots of nature and wildlife (no alligators this visit!!) and get away from the hustle and bustle normally part of my visit down to the Clearwater area. So many beautiful birds!! There's a well-marked trail around the lake, passing by picnic areas, playgrounds, disc golf courses, and more. Wish I had more time to explore, but at least I know where to go to "decompress" next time I'm down in this area. Definitely worth a visit... Enjoy!!
