Felt the need to leave a review because I've had nothing but a great experience here…read more My little brother and I were looking for a gym after moving back home, so we tried several in the area before checking out Curl. We met with the general manager Gustavo, who was very friendly and accommodating in helping us find the membership that made the most sense. I didn't end up getting my own membership since I'll be moving out again in a few months and Curl doesn't have many locations, but I've been able to come as my brother's guest. We even got my mom to sign up which says a lot given she's pretty high maintenance about cleanliness and wasn't going to the gym at all before this. Now she goes almost every day and loves the zumba classes. In my opinion, this is the best all-around gym for the price. It's cleaner than 24 hour and LA fitness, it's never so crowded that I'm waiting forever for equipment, and unlike planet fitness, it has a great selection of free weights. They also have newer equipment including a hip thrust machine and pendulum squat. I used to go to 24 hour whenever I came home on school breaks, and I've never been able to grab a spot at the squat racks with bumper plates. At Curl, I've never had that problem, even though I come almost every day. On top of that, Gustavo and the rest of the staff have always been welcoming and helpful. Overall, it's been a really positive experience and I'd definitely recommend Curl to anyone looking for a solid gym!

CRITICAL UPDATE (Sept 8): FORGERY & UNAUTHORIZED BILLING FOUND…read moreI am updating my previous review because this situation has escalated from deceptive sales tactics to outright fraud and forgery. The Forged Termination Form: Instead of replying to my September 7 email, the General Manager, Gustavo Guzman, deliberately started a brand-new email chain to send me a Membership Termination Form. This document features a forged signature submitted completely without my consent, stating that I am liable for all outstanding fees and charges. Hidden Fees: Shockingly, the form he forged contains absolutely no financial fields, dollar amounts, or fee disclosures. Mr. Guzman entirely hid the financial implications of this cancellation from me and never declared any charges. The $130.99 Unauthorized Math: I immediately called ABC Fitness Solutions (the third-party billing company that collects fees for Curl Fitness) directly. They confirmed that this forged cancellation request has officially scheduled an unauthorized $130.99 charge on my account for September 25 ($99 termination fee + an additional $31.99 monthly fee). Mr. Guzman cannot legally forge my signature to dictate my payments, nor can he use a medical code to cancel my contract while simultaneously charging me a waived termination fee and double-billing my prepaid dues. Current Actions Taken: Corporate Escalation: I reached out to the Curl Fitness Corporate Office at 949-673-7777 and have been directed to escalate this to Mr. Bill for an immediate corporate fraud investigation. Federal Reporting: I have officially filed a fraud and forgery report with the Federal Trade Commission at reportfraud.ftc.gov. BBB Dispute: A formal complaint detailing these fraudulent practices has been updated with the Better Business Bureau (BBB). Do not trust Curl Fitness Diamond Bar. They will sign your name to legal financial documents without your permission. Check your bank statements and fight back!

Well, this review is about 4 years late but some things are better late than ever, right?…read more I first reached out to JP in 2016. At the time, I was going to the gym, following random workouts on social media, and eating to my hearts content. I had very little knowledge regarding training, body composition, and nutrition. After a few months of working with JP, I started to not only gain momentum with my training but also began to see drastic changes to my body. I was so convinced and confident of my progress that I decided to take it to the next level, and compete in NPC as a figure competitor. In April of 2017, I competed in my first NPC show and placed 1st in women's figure. JP's guidance helped me overcome some of my deepest insecurities. In addition to all the things a personal trainer is expected to teach you, weight training, cardio regimen, and nutrition. JP also indirectly helped me with my confidence, mental clarity, advanced methods to training and nutrition, how my body responds to different types of foods, and the list goes on. These photos speak for themselves. The success and results I achieved with the guidance of JP are beyond exceptional. Although these achievements are great, what I cherish the most is the knowledge I gained from working with JP. It is now 4 years later, and still sometimes I can hear his voice in my head during my own training sessions LOL. Thank you, JP. I am forever grateful.

I asked myself, "Self, is that what I want to be?" I decided to find a personal trainer, and I found JP. JP is very different than many other trainers that I talked to who try to say many good things about training and attempt to get you in. The first thing I was told is "It is going to be tough, and it is all about you. Are you sure you want to do this?" I knew I was at the right place the moment I heard this because JP does not sugarcoat the challenges that I will face to get my business but serious about training me and helping me to reach my goal. The journey is challenging but fun. JP is dedicated and knowledgeable. He always tries to push you to a limit while paying great attention to the form and your reaction to make sure you do not get hurt. Trough out the time that I train with him, my body does fill sore but not pain. He also designs the session to train different muscle groups in a different way and different date so the muscles have enough time to recover. Besides training knowledge, he is also a very positive person who always shows his passion for helping others to be better. To me, JP is more than just a trainer but friend. I am glad that I met him and will keep up my journey with him.

I don't have to worry about whether the squat rack is open or if the machine i want is taken. I don't have to think about what body parts to target. Everyone here is really nice and supportive especially the instructors Sherry and Vicky, and you'll definitely get stronger if you keep going. I typically go once or twice a week, it's all the exercise I realistically get nowadays and yet I've actually gotten noticeably better cardio and strength. If you're on the fence about it I'd say give it a try. The classes are honestly hard but you can take it at your own pace, and it only gets easier. One thing I love is that there's a sense of teamwork even if you're doing your own workouts. It makes me work harder seeing other people try hard. Overall definitely worth it

But this is not a gym; it is a training facility where you work with trainers to tackle your physical goals. Next, this is about my trainer, Kevin Abandy. Kevin has been my trainer for exactly 8 weeks now and he is awesome! I made the decision to get a trainer after my birthday to truly invest in myself. You can invest in your own skills and education, but the return is almost always indirect. But with a trainer, specifically Kevin, I gained 8 lbs of muscle mass and lost 8% body fat (approx. 13-lbs of fat) after 8 weeks of training with him. Also, at the start of my training, I had back pain (from past injury to T12) and knee pains (from under the kneecap). Through Kevin's program and coaching, my pain has been reduced to near 0 with full mobility -- like squatting all the way down and up with 200-lbs of weight on my shoulders with no knee pain. I would give a 1-star review to keep it from getting crowded, but it would be hard for me to not tell others about the good that comes out of this place. My mom is 70 and she's training with Kevin too! And the story is the same for her... knee pains - GONE. Back pains - GONE. If you're reading this and decide to get a consultation with Kevin, please let him know you saw Alex's review so he knows his method is making an impact.

I've been working with Mia for almost 6 months now and have dropped about 5% in body fat and gained 7% in muscle mass. I would have never considered myself "overweight" but knew I needed to lose a few pounds. I've tried the traditional membership gyms but always found that I would lose interest or motivation. When I started inquiring about personal trainers, Mia was very prompt at answering. During our consultation I did a body fat scan and was shocked to find out that I was nearly 25%. We talked and I learned that it was less about the weight and more about body composition and fat/muscle percentages. Due to my work schedule we were able to meet twice a week for an hour a session. Mia adds good variety to our workouts and I definitively know that I push myself more during our sessions that I normally would have if I were doing the workouts by myself. She also places an emphasis on nutrition and offers advice on what to eat and what to stay away from. The last couple of years my diet has gotten progressively worse, and she's been a great help in getting me back on track.
