If you're caught putting your business cards (or any other items) in mailboxes without sending them through the Postal Service, you could be fined or even face legal trouble. It's a federal offense."
"Jan 12, 2025; Engaging in unauthorized mailbox activities can lead to criminal penalties under federal law. Violating 18 U.S.C. 1725 is a misdemeanor, punishable by fines up to $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for organizations."
Many are sick & tired of having to toss out items added to (regular junk mail) in their mailboxes (or) taped to the outside of the boxes. Usually people just toss them on the ground (so litter everywhere).
