I wanted to get them taken care of before Spring so not to disturb our nesting birds. The biggest tree was 14' high and 13' in diameter. They worked hard to give me the results I wanted by asking at each point of trimming "is this the correct level and height" .......WoW what a difference a day makes. We hired Amilcar of Carrillo Landscaping originally to remove excess soil (and plenty of trash from old remodeling projects) left by our house's previous owners under a wooden deck. We needed the soil level lowered and sloped away from the house to prevent moisture build up near the foundation. Amilcar and his crew did a good job and got the work done more quickly than I would have thought. We then hired them to remove soil and re-slope a larger section of the yard, and finally to build a retaining wall. The work itself was done well and we are happy with the results. We did struggle with communication initially describing the scope of work and agreeing on a price. They did an excellent job clearing and mulching some very overgrown beds. Very pleasant, responsive, and efficient. Do not ask them to trim any trees, though. That is apparently not their expertise and I was pretty disappointed with how my maple and cherry trees looked afterwards. read more

Good response time. A incarcerated came out the next day and gave me a bid for my annual yard cleanup (lots of ivy and blackberries needing to be cut back, and then hauled away). I got 3 bids for the job. Amilcar was the low bid, so I wnt with him. He and his crew finished the job in about a day and a half, so I had him pressure wash my deck the rest of the 2nd day. Amilcar responded immediately to my request for a quote on a landscaping clearing project, and came out the next morning to take a look. He was really thorough in making sure he understood what all I wanted removed, and his quote was very reasonable. He and one other worker started the next day, and did really great work! What would have taken me weeks - if not months - they did in two days. They removed rhodies, arborvitae, juniper, a jungle of ivy/blackberry bush/lilac, and a 30' gum tree. I also had them move a TON of small/medium landscaping rocks out of this project area and pile them up in a different spot for me to reuse in a different project. They also brought in a bunch of dirt to fix the grading of the soil against the house, and they replaced some old wooden steps on a sloped part of the yard with retaining wall blocks. They were fast, thorough, and respectful of my property. I will definitely call Amilcar again when I'm ready to start another project. read more
