I was told I would receive a bid the next day. A week later I called to inquire. Was told it was on the owner's desk for approval. Another week goes by, no response. Why do I get the feeling they don't want the job. What conclusion did they come up with and why? This is what customers wonder about when they never hear from contractors again: Is my job too small to be a money maker and worthy of your expertise? Are you too busy making a killing on a bigger paying job to be bothered with my small job? What other possible reason could you have for rejecting a customer? We all live in the same community. I'm disappointed that as a business person you don't have neither the time or willingness to help the little guy. You are a disgrace to our community. read more

My husband and I hired C.P.C to redo the side of our fence and build two 10 ft double gates. At the time of the estimate, I inquired about a Military Discount. I was told it was a flat rate and not a percentage but that it could be done. The bid was sent to me via email but the military discount wasn't on it. I didn't think anything of it . Just assumed it would be adjusted at time of payment. The on site crew James, David and Aaron were terrific! Even when the gate opening fell short of 10 ft, they worked quickly to resolve it. Management however lacked communication. At one point, on a Friday, our crew didnt show up. We didn't get a courtesy call and when I called the office to inquire of their whereabouts, there was no feedback of what had happened. I learned from the crew following Monday that there was an Emergency Project that they were called to do. Totally understandable, it just would have been nice to have known that. So now we're at the end of the project and it is beautiful! I called Sarah who runs the office to make payment arrangements and mentioned Military Discount once more. I was told that it had to be approved by the owner Cliff and that she would call me back. Couple of hours pass and I call back in. Cliff has denied our discount because it wasn't on the bid initially and our project took longer than expected. So I asked how much the discount would of been. 25 to $50 I was told. Our project was $5,500 so that would have been less than 1% of a discount and we were denied that! Sarah could tell I was not pleased but I remained calm and let her off the phone. As I thought about it more and more, the more upset I became so I called Sara again and asked for Cliff to to call me. Not even 10 minutes later, Sarah calls me back after emailing me a new bid with our $50 (.9%) discount included. As a person who works in the Insurance Industry with Claims I'm always looking for companies to refer my clients to in their time of need that I have personally worked with. I was looking forward to having this experience with CPC Landscape. Although the work turned out beautifully ,I don't feel confident recommending their services due to how I was treated by management. K.W read more

We hired C.P.C. to remove a fence, install gutter drains and a drywell, and install foundation drains and waterproof the exterior of our basement wall. These guys may be good at landscaping and fences, but I would never hire them to do drainage work again. Positives: their crews were friendly, they responded quickly when we were looking for estimates, and the gutter drains do appear to work (although they eventually won't after the "fix" they put in on the final call-back, see below). Negatives: The foundation drain doesn't seem to do anything. Our basement still floods in heavy rain, and when we go outside and look at the sump that the foundation drain empties into there's no flow to it. We really regret not asking to inspect it before they covered it, especially because they initially tried to install the foundation drain half-way down the foundation wall, instead of at the footer--which should have made us wonder what other corners they were going to cut and be a lot more skeptical. On three occasions they cut our utilities with their excavator. That's not a problem: excavators break stuff. But how they handled it was a problem. The first time, they cut our well line (power and water), applied a bogus fix that didn't work, and left for the evening without telling anyone. We were able to get them back out that night, but they didn't fix it until the next day, and we had to hire a plumber to get things going again (dirt got into our appliances from the broken line). We were without water for an evening and morning. The second time, they nicked a sewer line. I noticed the next day when I saw water under it, and had to point it out to them to get it fixed. The final time, they dug out an excavator-bucket width section of sewer line, didn't notice that they'd done so, ran the gutter drain right across where the sewer line used to go, then covered it up. After a couple weeks, our toilet stopped working. I got to spend a fun evening digging through sewage soaked soil around my sewer line and wasn't happy when I found what they'd done. They did come out and "fix" it, but there "fix" was to use two 90-degree bends to run a section of the gutter drain under the sewer line--which will act as a sediment trap and fill with pine needles and other detritus from the roof. We had them bury a 2x4 over it so we can dig it out and replace it ourselves. They also didn't appear to compact the trench they dug at all, and there's now sections around our house where the soil next to the foundation has settled, forming a nice trench for rain water to pool in (they had said that they would try and compact the trench and slope it so it drains away from the house). read more

I highly recommend Cliff and his guys for landscaping. Our yard is a challenge and they did a great job. We had a yard taken out, a sprinkler system installed, top soil and hydro seed plus beauty bark. All this with limited back yard access.
